Girls soccer Julie Herman scored two goals and goalie Jill Gronotte stopped two shots to record the shutout, enabling the Ryle Raiders to beat Ludlow 7-0 Tuesday in the regional tournament action at Fox Field. However, it was a goal by Mandy Wallace three minutes into the garrie that set the tone. The Raiders put the game out of reach by scoring five times during the first 40 minutes. Ryle plays the winner of tonight's Notre Dame/St. Henry game on Saturday for the regional championship.
Glacken out for year
Elder quarterback Matt Glackert~ who was injured during the third quarter in the Panthers' loss to Moeller, will not return as expected for the final two games of the season. This past week, it was determined that Glacken suffered. a torn rotator cuff which· may also sideline him for the baseball season. ·
Mignery hurting Andy Mignery; Hamilton's starting quarterback, may sit out the Big Blue's football game Friday against Fairfield. · Hamilton Athletic Director Larry Wood said Mignery strained a Jiga~ ment in his right leg and hasn't practiced this week. Hamilton coach Ed Mignery, Andy's father, predicted that his son will play. · "Andy was hurt in the first quarter when sacked," Mignery said. "He was replaced by Chris Bryant, who is: a real quick kid." A victory by Hamilton' clinches the Greater Miami Conference championship for the Big Blue.
