Introduction to Narrative Game Design

Can a handful of dice and a couple of miniatures tell a story? Immerse yourself in the world of role-playing games and modern board games. Because this opportunity requires maturity, initiative, and strong academic standing, students must complete an application.

Students are responsible for securing their own externship or job shadow placement and arranging transportation to and from the site. Students must have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA for junior year of 3.4 based upon academic performance in first, second, and third quarters.

This MoeTerm opportunity requires students to complete 20 hours of hands-on experience and complete a reflection to receive their MoeTerm credit. An externship experience is ideal for self-motivated seniors eager to take the next step in discerning their future goals through authentic, experiential learning.

Seniors who are interested in participating in a MoeTerm externship should not register for a travel MoeTerm option and must see Mrs. Boggess to obtain an application by April 2, 2026. During their scheduled registration week, students should register for a local MoeTerm course. In May, students will be notified whether they have been placed in an externship or will remain enrolled in a traditional MoeTerm course.

MoeTerm Media Team: Capture Learning in Action*

Step behind the lens and become the official storyteller of MoeTerm. In this exclusive, small-group experience, you’ll travel throughout Cincinnati capturing the dynamic, hands-on learning happening across the program. From classrooms to community sites, you’ll document real moments of experiential learning through professional-quality photography and video.

As a member of the MoeTerm Media Team, students won’t just observe—they’ll create. they’ll refine their eye for composition, strengthen technical camera skills, and learn

how to tell compelling visual stories that showcase the impact of experiential education. Work may be featured in school publications, social media, and promotional materials.

Because this is an immersive, high-level opportunity, enrollment is limited to a select group of students who are serious about visual storytelling. This is the session for students who are ready to travel, create, and capture learning in action.

*Participants must own a mirrorless camera and be prepared to meet the technical and creative demands of professional media production. Additionally, students must be able to provide their own transportation.
