ACADEMIC CAMPS Moeller Art Camp

Grades 6-8 June 11-15 9-11:00am Cost $125 Grades 3-5 June 11-15 1-3:00pm Cost $125 Monsters and Mayhem: Open to both male and female students. Learn Studio Hand Building techniques and Introductory Physics Principals while understanding the basics of various hand building techniques while creating your favorite Monsters. Art Camp students will design and construct a monster, gargoyle or creature of their own design. Camp participants will use the same technique that artists have been using for 500 years as we carve, build and construct an origin story to accompany their creations. This camp builds curiosity and self-confidence for all participants through creative problem solving and material investigation while also engaging in introductory principals in physics. Author Camp Grades 5-8

June 25-29 8:30-11:30am Cost $125 Open to both male and female students. Author Camp is an introduction to creative writing via interactive exercises and hands-on writing to explore topics like voice, plot, and character. While short stories will be the primary emphasis, additional topics will include creative nonfiction, travel writing, flash fiction, and playwriting. Engineering Camp

Grades 7-8 June 25-28 9-11:00am Cost $150 Open to both male and female students entering 7th or 8th grade. The Engineering Camp students will learn about topics in Engineering by completing a number of hands on activities and projects. Contact: Russ Pinkerton at RPinkerton@Moeller.org

Instrumental Music Camp

Grades 6-8 June 11-15 12:30-3:00pm Cost $150 This camp is open to boys and girls entering grades 6-8 who have at least one (1) year of band or private music lesson experience. Working side by side with members and staff of the Moeller/MND Band, students will prepare musical selections (both current and traditional) while learning tips, tricks, and techniques that will help them become better at their instruments. They’ll learn to work as a team, discover how to practice like professionals, get their hands on some really cool technology, and put on a great show for you on Friday afternoon. Woodwind, brass, string, piano, and percussion players are all welcome. Students can do this and the Color Guard camp for a reduced cost of $250. Contact: Paul Kindt at PKindt@Moeller.org

Color Guard Camp

Grades 4-8 June 11-15 9-11:30am Cost $150 This camp is open to girls and boys entering grades 4-8. No experience is necessary. Students learn the basics of what it takes to be a member of the Moeller Color Guard, which performs at halftime for thousands of fans each year, and the Moeller Winter Guard, which competes in the winter and spring. Dance, flag work, and body movement will be the main concentrations, though other equipment and techniques will be covered. Challenge yourself to do something fun, expressive, and DIFFERENT by spending a week with the Moeller Color Guard. Those with instrument experience (see above) can do this camp plus the Instrumental camp for a combined cost of $250. Contact: Paul Kindt at PKindt@Moeller.org

Week 2 August 6 - 10 Session I - 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM Session II - 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM Online registration will close on Friday July 20 at 11:59 PM Paper registrations will be accepted after July 20 based upon availability. Registration after July 20 will be $150. Course Requirements and Mandatory Pre-Camp Work • All students attending the camp must purchase Barron’s COOP, HSPT, and TACHS practice book. Copyright 2005 or newer. Book can be found at most book stores or online. • All students must complete and score the HSPT Practice Test #1 prior to the first day of class. Please bring the practice test score on the first day to establish a baseline score for the camp. Both sessions will report on Friday morning at 8:30 AM in the morning for the practice test • Strengthen a student’s test-taking skills • Help students master time-management strategies • Motivate and build a student’s self-confidence • Show a student exactly what to expect on test day • Meet Moeller students and learn more about why you should be a future Man of Moeller! • All Students attending the camp must purchase Barron’s COOP, HSPT, and TACHS. Play baseball the Moeller Way! All fundamentals will be taught – hitting, pitching, catching, throwing, base running, infield and outfield play. Games will also be played. Baseball camp is conducted by Moeller High School coaches assisted by current and former baseball players. Please bring baseball gloves, bats and helmets. DO NOT bring your own baseball. Baseball Mini Camp Grades 9

NEW this year! This camp is designed to introduce incoming ninth graders to Moeller baseball. The camp will concentrate on the skills that will be needed at the freshman level. Basketball Camp

Grades 2-3 Cost $95 Grades 4-6 Cost $170 Grades 6-8 Cost $170 Session I: Grades 2-3 June 11-14 12:30pm-2:30am , 80Campers Maximum Session II: Grades 4-6 June 18-21 9:00am – 3:00pm, 200 Campers Maximum Session III: Grades 6-8 June 25-28 9:00am - 3:00pm, 240 Campers Maximum This camp is designed to teach the fundamental skills of basketball as well as teach teamwork and good sportsmanship through various competitions and games. Instruction is provided by Moeller coaches and former and current Moeller basketball players. All participants will receive a camp basketball and T-shirt. For Session I: If your son is attending the football camp in the morning, the camp counselors will eat lunch with them and walk them to the gym for basketball camp. Basketball Summer League

Grades 8 & 9 May - June Cost $95 Monday-Friday: Game time 3:30 pm or 4:30 pm This league is designed to give eighth graders and incoming freshmen the opportunity to play in a summer basketball league under the guidance of Moeller coaches. This league is also a great way to meet new people from other area grade schools. All participants will be placed on a team and will be guaranteed eight games. Each participant will receive a reversible jersey.The game schedule will be sent via email at the end of May. Camper spaces limited to first 120 boys. Football Camp

The Crusaders Football Camp will ntroduce your son to new ideas and the latest techniques and fundamentals being taught in football. He will have the opportunity to work on positions and techniques (quarterback, running back, receiver/tight end, interior line, linemen, linebacker, secondary & special teams). Drinks will be provided. If your son is attending the Session III Basketball Camp in the afternoon, the camp counselors will eat lunch with them and walk them to the gym for basketball camp. Fun and Games

Grades K-4 July 23 - 27 9:00am-2pm Cost $180 A variety of sports and games will be played during the week, including whiffle ball, kickball, soccer, basketball, t-ball, volleyball (beach ball), and other playground games. Campers will be encouraged to develop their coordination, balance, and sportsmanship skills. T-shirts are youth sizes only. Pizza lunch can be purchased or you may pack a lunch. FUNdamentals

Grades 2-6 July 9-12 9:00am – 2pm Cost $150 Moeller coaches and student assistants will introduce fundamental skills in the following sports: baseball, basketball, football, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, and wrestling. Campers will be placed in groups by grade level and groups will stay together as they rotate stations throughout the day. All groups will visit each of the seven (7) sport stations every day for instruction and games. Campers will receive a t-shirt. 9 am – 2pm Monday-Thursday Pizza lunch can be purchased or pack a lunch. Drinks will be provided. Ice Hockey Camp

Grades 1-8 August 2-4 6:00-7:30pm Cost $90 The mission of the Crusader Ice Hockey Camp is to teach good sportsmanship, team work and good hockey habits. All drills and games will be geared toward hockey fundamentals. Instruction provided by the Crusaders Coaching staff, current and former players. All participants will receive a practice jersey. Learn Lacrosse from the Men of Moeller! We teach all of the fundamentals of the game, individual position skills and team concepts. Campers will have fun with drills and competitions throughout the week. Campers will be instructed by current and past Moeller Lacrosse Players as well as Moeller Coaches. Soccer Camp

Grades 3-8 and 9-12 July 23-26 Cost $95 Session I: Grades 3-8 2:30-5:00pm Session II: Grades 8-12 5:30-8:00pm Moeller soccer camp will introduce your son how to play soccer the Moeller way! We will work on developing skills, and include lots of drills and game strategies. Camp will be under the supervision of the Moeller soccer coaching staff with technical direction by Tony Capurro, Men’s Assistant Soccer Coach at Northern Kentucky University. Volleyball Camp Grades 3-9 July 16-19 Cost $95 Session 1: Grades 3-6 Session II: Grades 7-9

Whether your son is a novice athlete looking to try volleyball or a player with experience, this camp is for him. Skill instruction will include serving, passing, setting, defense, and attacking. Wrestling Camp

Grades 1-9 July 16-19 9am -2pm Cost $125 The Moeller Wrestling Camp is designed to help both experienced and novice wrestlers improve their fundamental skills and techniques. Campers will be exposed to the system of wrestling that has launched Moeller to consistent top-state rankings and five national rankings. Campers should bring their lunch and a water bottle.
