The Crusader skaters, who lost 10 players through graduation, open the campaign Friday when they meet Talawanda in the opener of the three-day Terry Wieland Tournament at Miami's ice arena. Crusader squad is Brendau Beasley, along with seven juniors, Brad Berrigan, John Connor, A.J. Crouch, Jason Faessler, newcomer Mark Gasper, Mark Lemen and Rob Murphy. Goalie Ken Brodeur and Roger Pryor are sophomores and Brent Berrigan, Bobby Loomis, Ryan Murphy, John Riehle and Shawn Sadler are freshmen. Crouch is the top returning scorer after registering 43 points on 20 goals and 23 assists for last year's team that posted a 2110 record. Gone are Matt Godar (50 goals and 94 points), John Sonderman (30 goals and 64 points) and John Raymer (10 goals and 32 points). Gasper joined the team from South Carolina via Canada and Brodeur played for a Cincinnati travel team last year.

Ex-Cyclone to coach Moeller Moeller High School has named Steve McGrinder, former member of the Cyclones and a onetime Miami University star, as head varsity hockey coach. Assistants will be Mark Lori, former Bowling Green player, and Pete Buscani, six-year member of the staff. Moeller's junior-varsity team will be coached by ex-Cyclone Joe Tonello, with help from Paul Swift, former Miami captain, and Buddy Payne. Moeller opens Nov. 26 at Talawanda. •·
