Reickhoff leads Moeller to sectional title Junior golfer shoots 3-under at Glenview By Terry Jenkins Post contributor

·Moeller High School's Ryan Reick' . hoff had a feeling that the Crusaders were going to have a big day Friday at the Division I sectional tournament at " Glenview Golf Course. What the junior did not know, however, was that he would be the main golfer behind that big day. Led by Reickhoff's sectional-record, 3-under-par 69, Moeller earned a 10stroke victory over Turpin, winning its second consecutive sectional championship with a score of 298.

"I told my teammate, Mike Rocawich, that we were going to win this thing on the way here," Reickhoff said. "This was something that we wanted very badly." Besides setting the sectional record, Reickhoff's 69 also tied the school record for 18 holes. His round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-five, ninth hole, which was Reickhoff's final hole of the day. "I hit a big drive, and all I had left was a 7-iron to the pin," Reickhoff said. "When I hit the shot, I thought it was going in. I had it right at the pin. "Even though it did not go in, it still only ended up less than a foot from the hole." Said Moeller coach Rick Bohne: "I think a lot of people had written us off

for dead. We haven't played well in tournaments all ~rear. But, with Ryall and Mike Rocawich as leaders, we certainly got back on track. "I hope we can carry this over to the district's next Thursday (at Weatherwax in Middletown)." Rocawich followed up Reickhoff's round with a 73, giving the Crusaders a big lead. Todd Kahle and Nick Lykins then finished off the day for Moeller with a pair of 78s. Turpin finished second, with a 308 total. Turpin was led by Bryan Shick's 74 and Kyle Elfers' 75.
