In a collaborative effort with the architects, Kaebel Leisure played a crucial role in bringing their vision to life. Applying our expertise in rope access and climbing structures, we designed bespoke elements that enhance the space’s functionality and appeal. Working to design parameters, we were able to create various rope instalments, each offering varying levels of difficulty to encourage an engaging and inclusive play experience for children of all ages. The site at North Rosebery boasts a large open spaced area ideal for picnics and outdoor activities, with hearty native plants through the park providing an air of tranquillity. Kaebel Leisure’s design contribution to the project involved the design and creation of a series of rope tunnels and vertical climbing nets. Kaebel Leisure played a key role in crafting this exciting space, designing a series of bespoke rope play elements, imperative to linking the park’s functionality and narrative. Working alongside Arcadia Landscape Architects and Landscape Solutions, Kaebel Leisure’s expertise brought the park’s vision to life. Our customdesigned floor nets, wall nets, and rope walkways serve a dual purpose, providing essential safety barriers to ensure a secure environment as well as elevating the space by creating functional pathways that connect the different play areas, encouraging exploration and discovery. The playground’s design reflects the three stages of growth of the native Banksia Flower, a homage meaningfully embodied in the three climbing towers and interweaving walkways. The National Arboretum is a 250-hectre facility which is the host of 100 forests of rare, endangered trees from around the world. This legacy project with an important environmental and conservation message will live beyond our lifetimes. The opportunity to design a play space as part of the 100 forests facility offered an opportunity for designers Taylor Cullity Lethlean to creatively engage children with the beauty of trees and, foster life-long connection to this remarkable environment. Using the idea of seeds as the beginning life amongst the forest, children and their families can enter a fantasy world of exaggerated scales. A play space with giant acorns floating in the sky, and enormous banksia cones nestled on the forest floor. A large custom designed fishing net and birds nest swings provided by Kaebel Leisure, produce elevated views to the broader arboretum, strategically placed adjacent to other Central Vallery and orientation to the Arboretums large sculpture entitled, ‘wide brown land’.

Replacing the traditional timber frame with a striking stainless steel arch frame, this innovative play element serves as an architectural centrepiece. Its pale eucalypt green finish seamlessly blends into the park’s natural surroundings, creating a harmonious and inviting space for children to play and explore. With over half of the equipment accessible to children of all abilities, the park caters to a diverse range of play needs. Boasting a carefully chosen colour palette that promotes a calming atmosphere. The muted tones, including the pale eucalypt green of the Fish Traps unit, help the large play structures blend into the landscape. Charles Heath Reserve is an example of Kaebel Leisure’s adaptability in designing impactful playground elements. This unique element pays homage to the Wagga Beach area’s rich history, bringing the paddle steamers of the Murrumbidgee River to life. Combining curved steel frames with our signature rope play elements, the Riverboat offers endless opportunities for climbing, balancing, and imaginative play. Alongside the Riverboat stands the eye-catching Water Wizz Towers, each linked by a series of custom made Kaebel Leisure walkways especially designed for the structures. Each tower and tunnel provides the opportunity for users to climb, crawl, and explore as they enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding park.
