Climb aboard and celebrate as the world’s most beloved #1 blue engine rolls into MODS. Help Thomas the Tank Engine be a “really useful engine,” as you explore the sights and sounds of the island of Sodor, including Knapford Station and Sodor Steamworks. Learn valuable STEM skills throughout the exhibit by building an intricate wooden train set, assembling a large train and navigating through Thomas’ imaginary world. All aboard! Exhibit included with admission.

Voyage To The Deep

January 26, 2024 – May 19, 2024

Step into the legendary Nautilus submarine with Captain Nemo and embark on an interactive journey of underwater exploration. Discover Jules Verne’s mythical world of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by exploring a Cabinet of Curiosities full of marine specimens, operating a submarine, and learning about the underwater world as seen from inside a deep-sea exploration vessel.

Journey through a contemporary and historical experience focusing on nautical exploration and navigation. Experiment with innovations that contributed to the success of Admiral Peary and Matthew Henson’s Arctic expeditions throughout the early 1900’s and discover how engineers and researchers are working to overcome the technical difficulties of deep-sea exploration.

The Voyage of the Deep exhibition was created and developed by the Australian National Maritime Museum, an Australian Government entity. Flying Fish manages the exhibit tour. Exhibit included with admission.
