AVALON VILLAGE & PARKER VILLAGE get a lighting upgrade!! With the help of Soulardarity, the MEDC and several supportive donors, 10 Solar smart streetlights (5 to each village) with Wi-Fi capability were installed. Soulardarity Fellowship Description: a community-focused program to educate, train and deploy participants into energy democracy, organizing and building resilience to oppression from the energy system for front-line communities. Highland Park, MI District 1 CANDIDATE QUESTIONNAIRE from HIGHLAND PARK CAMPAIGN TEAM has been launched!

District 1 City Council Candidates are requested to respond to this questionnaire, developed by Highland Park residents, to inform voters on your policy positions and visions.

City Council is a legislative body. In answering these questions, please be as specific as you can about how you think Council as a legislative body should act in response to these concerns.

There are seven sections on issue areas we want to know your platform on. In each section you will see the overall issue area, and a list of specific questions within that residents want to hear from you on.

We encourage you to answer all questions, but it is not required. Simply type "no response" if you do not wish to answer that question. Please keep in mind that your responses will be printed and distributed to Highland Parkers before the primary elections. Your characters will be limited to 1,000 per answer.

GROW SOLAR HIGHLAND PARK PROGRAM Grow Solar Highland Park-Detroit is a public education and bulk purchasing program that makes going solar easier, more affordable, and geared specifically to help homeowners and businesses in Highland Park and Detroit put solar panels on their homes and buildings. Soulardarity and the Midwest Renewable Energy Association are teaming up to provide a bulk purchase that saves money for participants. The more people that participate the more the savings. https://www.growsolar.org/highland-park/ The federal government is offering a tax credit worth 26% of the cost of the installation. We are raising money to offer grants to households who do not file taxes or lack the tax liability to take advantage of the subsidy.

Polar Bear Sustainable Energy (PBSE) Cooperative is an association of neighbors in HP and Detroit that formed for the purpose of gaining access to products and financing for solar and energy efficiency upgrades.

If participants join, they are eligible for reduced interest rate loans and grants in lieu of the tax credit. We are going to put out a press release on Monday. The first Solar Power Presentation for anyone interested to learn about the program will be July 15.
