Cover Girl Maren Tschinkel Winner of the Month (Germany) Miss Germany Can you tell us a little about you? I am international model from Germany. I am also Miss Germany and I will represent Germany at Miss Earth 2018. Beside modeling I am University student, studying economics. I do a lot of sports and I am personal Fitnesstrainer. I love to motivate other people and giving my gym classes means a lot of fun to me. Also I have my own horse and I love skiing in the winter and surfing in the summer. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? I am a super perfectionist. And sometimes I believe its a bit too much. How did you start modeling? When I was young I was acting in a kids show on TV. Since that I got into modeling and in front of the camera. What do you think of the work as a model? Modeling is my passion. I can express myself by my model job and I do what I love. I am very happy to see my success of my own work. For example finding myself on Magazins, Newspapers or Commercials. Also it’s an amazing opportunity to travel around the world and to meet other cultures and interesting people. What is your beauty regimen? I love to take care of my body. So I eat healthy and organic. Also I use products for my skin to keep it smooth and soft. The best way for having pure skin in my face is to wash it with ice cold water before I go to sleep. ( It’s simple but for me its the best ) What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I am super focused at my goals. And I am always optimistic. Also I like to set myself realistic goals so that I can reach them. What are your plans for the future? I want to be happy with myself what ever I am doing in the future. My biggest plan and life goal is just to be happy.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far? Traveling to amazing countries and I have met so many powerful and get personalities. That made myself grow a lot. Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? Always do your passion. If modeling is your passion you will be good in it. Don’t think its an easy job or easy way to make money if you are pretty. It needs to be your passion and only then you will be successful and be good at it. What do you think of the magazine? Photographer Damian Piórko Can you tell us a little about you? I was born in Poland 39 years ago, however photography is my hobby since 2014. My occupation is completely not linked to photography, but I do everything to maintain it as I simply love it! Im a father of two and husband of lovely woman. How and when did you get into photography? It was rather something that came up from me when I was rather adult. I remember as a child I was browsing through old images of my family. Maybe that stuck to my mind so hard that bloomed 20 years later. What does photography mean to you? It is like a drug. When u take a photo u are so focused on it you leave whole world behind u. The same with editing images. I love it because I can add a bit of unnatural look anytime and it pops up my images from the crowd. Every image I deal with is differen.

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. It’s typical portrait photography but I love shalow depth of field (1,4-2,2) and use my 35 mm lens. On such image I can create portrait of person placed in some specific environment. It gives additional taste and story behind. I do not really like tight portraits that show only face of the model, unless it has great impact on viewer by presenting some story (not only beauty). Where do you get inspiration from? Painting! I love to watch that type of art! Of course there many great photographer on Internet so sometimes I get inspiration frrm them. Think you in advance what you want in the picture? I try to plan my session for sure. Sometimes I go to the location beforehand. But once I’m on the unknown location it arouses my imagination!

Studio, on location or both? Both, but on location is more inspirational. Location is easier, because all the props one has on the spot. Only issue is with the lighting. It requires quite a lot of expirience. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? Rather semi-professional. I do not rather earn a lot of money, since I have a job. Without photography I can do my living easily. What has been your most memorable session and why? It was with my frind Caroline in old garage with old cars. I came across it accidently and one frame I would say conquered the photo world! It looks like from Hitchcock movie! I added cinematic look and really enjoy it! Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? Sigma. But canon is still good. Very good. Sigma art gives the image I do really need namely perspective is very cinematic. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? Actually since I do not run any bussines I cannot say much. But I know one thing: if you want to get a lot of money on photography do your images with passion! Money will find you by itself. What do you think of our new magazine? Great as always. Can you tell us a little about you? My full name is Aleksandra Liubimova , but everybody calls me Sasha, or recently Aleksa . I’m full time model and Instagram influencer , my passion hobby is kitesurf and travelling . If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? I’m very confident about myself but sometimes I dream to be braver in contacting with new people, I can describe myself a lil shy How did you start modeling? I started modeling at the age of 15, because everybody was telling me that I looked like a model, and actually it was my childhood dream after I stopped to dream to be a ballet dancer . What do you think of the work as a model? I think it’s amazing no matter how hard it is, I love modeling and the opportunities it gives, modeling also makes you mentally stronger because of high competition in the industry . What is your beauty regimen? It’s typical : I don’t drink alcohol ,don’t smoke, I try to eat healthy and drink a lot of water. Also it’s very important to have a good cosmetologist . What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I never give up, and never stop believe in myself, it’s the hardest thing but the most important , it distinguishes me from many models I met. What are your plans for the future? Photographer Gábor Lénárt Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Gabor Lenart, I’m a freelance photographer from Hungary. I just moved to London. I mainly shoot fashion/lifestyle portraits and weddings. How and when did you get into photography? I discovered photography in the summer of 2008. So at the time of the interview, it’s about 10 years now. I always wanted to create since I was a kid. A popular way of creating anything was to start with Photohop. I tried it, and I really liked it. I started with graphic design, just tried to learn the software, but I quickly transitioned to photography. What does photography mean to you? It’s one of the most important things in my life. I think about photography every day, I’m always looking for new ways to do it, always try to learn about it and it’s a never ending passion for me. It got me so many friends, so many great memories and it’s not just a job for me. It’s really the part of my personality and I don’t know what would I do without it. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. My style is very calm and moody. I try to be simple and natural. The photos are staged, but they have a bit of spontaneity in them. I always want the viewer to be able to relate with the model in the photo. I’m trying to include the model’s personality into my images. We really make the images together. Where do you get inspiration from? Models, movies, tv-shows, music, my friends. They all inspire me but in different ways. Also other photographers, but lately I try to shut those out from my thinking because I think, looking at other photographers too much, really distracts you from finding your own style. So I try to not be influenced too much by other photographers and just listen to my own instincts. Think you in advance what you want in the picture? Yes, I always have some kind of concept or idea, because I always know who I’m gonna shoot, and I always have a preconception based on the look of the model, but when we meet, her personality can change the whole concept, so I’m quite flexible about that. Studio, on location or both? If it’s a studio, it has to be very well equipped, otherwise I always feel the photos a little “cheap”. So if I can have access to a great location, I would choose that, instead of a studio. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I’m a paid professional. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? Right now I use Canon, but I really want to change to Sony. It’s just a matter of time(and money) for me, but for film photography, I’ll probably keep Canon. - 42 -

What has been your most memorable session and why? Probably when I was really torn between shooting more weddings and make more money, or shooting portraits and make less money, I shot the first girl ever who speaked English instead of Hungarian. After that shoot, something clicked in me, I felt so happy, it was so different than everything else, and for the first time, I felt I could do this on an international level, and it’s not just shooting my acquaintances anymore. I’ve never felt that happy after any wedding, so since then, I really started to focus more on portraits and fashion. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? From a business stand point, I would say shoot as much as you can, and don’t worry if it’s not paying too well, just keep on doing it! In time, you will have the resources and experience to raise prices. Just take any job that involves you holding a camera, any connection with any people is worth it. Money will come eventually, don’t worry! Also, just know that most of the professional photographers who you follow on instagram, they do lots of shitty work too, because everyone needs to pay their bills, but we only publish our best work, or our personal work. Most photographers’ portfolio usually contains about 80% personal work. Can you tell us a little about you? Kenza El Haddouti, I'm a 23 yo interior design student. I am passionate about cooking and traveling. I have been modeling for two years. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? I want to improve myself and continue to learn more. I think that Sometime it would be great to be on the other side of the camera,to that I can have a global approach of modeling. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I don't feel comfortable talking about myself. I think that I'm altruistic and love to help people. I place the happiness of others before mine. How did you start modeling? It's was unexpected . I was contacted by a photographer during a photo exhibition. Instagram helped me a lot, it speeded up the whole process. What are some of your favorite experiences so far? All photoshoots have been a great experience, I was able to learn and progress from the background and the experience of many different photographers. What do you think of the work as a model? So far it's a hobby and not a job yet. As I continue to have fun and enjoy I will continue in this direction. I deeply love what I do. I gained self confidence along with my modeling experience. I truly encourage more girls to start non-professional shootings either as model or as photographer. What is your beauty regimen? Beauty is relative. All the girls on this planet are beautiful. You just need to find the person who can perceive how beautiful your are. I also believe that a big part of beauty is defined by self confidence and by your acts and behavior. - 54 -

What are your plans for the future? I have a lot of them, such as designing new things and expressing my creativity as much as I can. Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Emilia Majdra, I am (almost) 24 years old and I currently live in Wrocław, Poland. I’m an IT engineer by trade, but I work as a graphic and web designer in marketing agency. Actually I am just an amateur, self-taught photographer, who is absolutely insane about traditional methods of taking pictures. Past four years I have been taking pictures with a 35mm analog camera and soon I will start with a medium format one. How and when did you get into photography? My story starts in 2008, when, with my parents’ support, I bought my the very first DSLR camera. That was because I was in love with ornitology and my desire was to catch the birds with my camera. Then I also started to take photos of my school mates and, in some way, the bird lover slightly moved into the people-and-portrait lover. By the end of 2009, when I’ve realized that it’s not enough for me, I’ve registered on one of the most popular sites for photographers, models and other creators, seeking for new faces. I was 15. And here the story begins for real. What does photography mean to you? It would be too trivial to say: everything. It’s more than this. Actually, this is the only way for me to express what I exactly feel, what’s in my mind and how I see the world and people – their inner beauties and defects as well. I feel it with all of my body – with heart and mind, with eyes and hands.

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. Basically, I’m completely in love with the human body, its flaws and uniqueness, naked skin and naturalness, especially the feminine one. And I feel this the most. But on the other hand, it’s still not enough for me… So the spectrum of my activity are also stylized visions, classic portraits, conceptual photography and so on. In general, I always try to create a history, a tale, with some mystery. Where do you get inspiration from? From observing the world, from people’s faces, from dreams, from Pinterest. Sometimes they appear out of nowhere in my mind. Mostly I’m trying to get inspiration from places I’m visiting or just going through. Think you in advance what you want in the picture? Of course I do! Sometimes… But always it turns out to be at least a bit different and more spontaneous than I expected in the beginning. Studio, on location or both? Definetely on location, but studio is also acceptable for me from time to time. Anyway I’d rather to use the charms of specific place, its unusuality and beauty. They give more possibilities to create the stories. Additionaly, I really adore unique interiors, some old-fashioned or casual or just untypical room, kitchen, bathroom, maybe garden, maybe abandoned attic, hall with stairs or a balcony.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? As I said in the beginning – I’m a total hobbist. I really love what I do and I don’t need any money to be happy with this. Anyway, there’s nothing better than a well-paid job, which is also the favourite hobby at the same time. What has been your most memorable session and why? I think it was one of the recent, when I was preparing the shaman story. During this session I had to involve a make up artist for the very first time (sic!), also my boyfriend and I’ve got a costume from my friend designer. The preparations for the sessions took around three hours (what is quite untypical for me) and I’ve got to transport my team 100 km away from Wrocław... I was really concerned and worried, because after all of such sacrifice I didn’t want to dissapoint anyone. Hopefully we are all very delighted with the effects and you can find them on next pages! Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? Minolta! As an analog photographer I am not involved in this war. I don’t have any favourite specific lens actually. But I really like portrait lenses like 50mm or 85mm with nice depth of field. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? You just have to feel it with your heart! What do you think of our new magazine? It’s just great! I really like the way of showing the artists’ portfolios. Model Emilia Majdra (Poland) My name is Emilia Majdra, I’m 23 (but almost 24!) years old and I’m living in Poland, in Wrocław. Normally I’m a graphic designer in a marketing agency. IT specialist by trade, but the very artistic soul at the same time. Photography is my the biggest love and mainly I’m standing behind the camera, but life led me back down the model path somehow. I’ve always been into making self-portraits. But my journey with the real modelling started in late December 2017. Then, quite accidentally, I met a really good photographer, who told me that I would be a nice model for him. And that’s how it begun. I always try to express myself by posing. I prefer natural, delicate and aesthetic photographs. There’s nothing better for me than pictures with a pinch of soul – my and photographer’s souls. That’s why I’m not prefer to pose for fashion or glamour themes. Instead of that I love posing for nudes or selfnudes, emotive portraits, mysterious and conceptual visions or fairy tales. What’s more, I’m the biggest fan of traditional, analog, methods of photography – from small and medium format, through the big one, and finally – technics like wet plate collodion and so on. I don’t consider myself as a person, who could work as a model for money. Can you tell us a little about you? I am a 32 year old self thought photographer from Switzerland. I grew up in a small town in the Kanton of Schaffhausen. On my full time job I am working in a Restaurant at the Rheinfall as Assistant of the manager. How and when did you get into photography? I got into photography about 5 years ago. It's pretty funny how I get into it. All started with a Facebook group which had the challenge to record and post a picture every day for a year. After 3 months I had my first model shooting and from there on I invested a lot of time in workshop and building up my photography and Photoshop skills. This year I also did my MUA diploma so now I am able to do all the parts of the shootings by myself. The group hasn't only brought me to photography I also get to know a lot of amazing people which are family for me now and I meet them in London all year 2-3 times. What does photography mean to you? It's a big part of my life now. When I'm not at work I invest most of my free time into photography. I love how I can life out my creativity and the amazing people I get to know true it. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. I love the human body and face. Most of my pictures are in Boudoir or Nude art style. Due to my MUA Diploma I started doing more portraits this year. In all the pictures I take I try to transport the models personality as well as their beauty. Where do you get inspiration from? There are a lot of things which inspires me. F.e. advertising pictures or just a person I see on the street or a place I walk by. I also love to follow other photographers on Instagram and get inspired by their amazing work. For bigger shootings I use Pinterest to set up mood boards. Think you in advance what you want in the picture? Mostly not. Most of the time I meet the model the first time at the day of the shoot and let myself inspire by her character and style. If I do a bigger shoot with lots of accessories I work with mood boards and have a clearer idea what picture I like to have in the end. Studio, on location or both? I love doing available light and outdoor shoots. But since I have my own studio I am getting more and more into the studio work. So I would say I prefer available light | outdoor shoots but I also work in Studio. What do you think of our new magazine? I really like your new magazine. I think you show a lot of high quality work and it's great to see all the amazing artist in your magazine and to get to know them. I am looking forward to see your upcoming magazines. - 98 -

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I would say I am somewhere in between. I do paid customer shoots but mostly work with models. This year I took a year off of customer shoots to only concentrate on model shootings and to be able to do a year what I like to do in photography.

were able to use it this year. I really loved it because the results are some of my favorite pictures from this year and we had a lot to set up and a lot of assistants for this shoot. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? I am a Canon girl and I'm happy with it but personally I think it’s the eye and not the camera that make your pictures good in the end. I have two all-time favorite lenses. My must have lens is the Sigma Art 50mm 1.4. This is the most important for me because I can use it for portraits and full body pictures. It's amazing with light and gives you a beautiful sharp result. For close up portraits, I use the Canon 100mm 2.8 macro lens. Its results are so sharp and it works perfect with less daylight as well. Additional to these two lenses I have the Sigma Art 24mm lens which I like to use if I like to bring some special angles to the picture. The other lens which I like to use is the Canon 80-200mm. Its pictures are really high quality but it's also really heavy to work with. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer ? Concentrate on yourself and your work. Don't start and think you will be famous within two months. It needs a lot of time until you can keep up with the real professional photographers (I am also still working to get there). Also, don't care about Facebook or Instagram likes. I saw a lot of photographer concentrating at this and getting frustrated if they see that others get more followers as them. Also, don't sell yourself under what you're worth. You need to have the guts to also say no to a customer if they don't like to pay your prices. Can you tell us a little about you? If I were to describe myself in simple words, I’d say I’m a girl always chasing dreams. My biggest passion is dance, I also love to sing so you can say music really is my life. I have so many bigger and smaller interests though, it’s impossible for me to devote to just one. I’m crazy about Japanese culture (I love their language, traditional and modern art and architecture, cuisine… everything! I could totally live in Tokyo). I love learning foreign languages and traveling, but not only the touristy way - the most enjoyable thing is to meet local people, see how our cultures differ, learn something new from them and let them know that there’s this small country of Poland there somewhere and how we live and think here. You could say people are my hobby I guess ;) Apart from that I have a strong interest in forensic anthropology, which was my major at Uni. I’ve stopped doing it now for modeling, but I’m pretty sure there will be a time in my life when I decide to get back to it. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? I honestly don’t know. Maybe the part of my personality making me postponing everything I need to do. How did you start modeling? It was after I’ve finished my masters. I’d always wanted to travel and try to live abroad for a longer time. I’ve just figured the easiest way to do it was becoming a model and going to international contracts, and that’s how it started. I then came to love the job and didn’t wanna quit even when I decided to settle down in Warsaw for a while. What do you think of the work as a model? I think it’s an amazing job if you love traveling and/or meeting new people. It’s super tiring and physically demanding, but it gives so much joy and has this touch of creativity, especially for photo shoots, which makes you never get bored of it. It’s a perfect job as long as you treat it like a hobby more than a regular work and still develop in other fields I guess. What are your plans for the future? I honestly have no idea. Just going with the flow and finding new opportunities. Hopefully becoming a superstar? ;) - 110 -

What is your beauty regimen? I don’t have a strict regimen. Just dancing a lot to keep fit (but I dance anyway so I don’t treat that as a regimen) and keeping a balanced diet. ‘Balanced’ meaning providing all necessary nutritional elements, NOT restraining myself from eating things. If you want to be beautiful you need to be healthy in the first place after all.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far? Well, it’s not a modeling experience per se, but I’d say one was during my stay in Milan. We became friends with the guys from our agency and one day we all went to a small amusement park near Milan. It wasn’t anything special, but it just felt so different from everyday work and it was so much fun, like we all were children again. That day I felt I’ve made some real friends there, not just hanging out with roommates. It may seem weird, but going to different countries for 2-3 months and then leaving usually ends up in having very shallow relationships with people, and believe me it’s tiring after a while. Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? If you feel like you’re gonna love it, just do it! There are so many different kinds of people needed worldwide and so many different kinds of beauty, that there’s a place for you for sure. Somewhere. You just need to try, and find your chance, and wait, wait, wait. Modeling is a lot of waiting, so be patient. And as I said - I’d advice you to treat it as a hobby and do other things next to it. If you manage to become a supermodel - that’s great, but it may take a lot of time at the beginning or end suddenly, and then it’s better to have some sort of a plan B for your future. Of course, contacts made during modeling career help a lot in this kind of situation ;) What do you think of the magazine? It’s awesome, I love the idea! One thing is, it’s great to be able to read other models’ experiences and interesting stories from the fashion industry by more and less famous people, not only super famous ones. But I also think it may be very useful for the ones wanting to start their careers in fashion - learning from other people’s experiences will make them see how the work really looks like, how to avoid making mistakes, and how much joy it brings to work in fashion industry. Parlez-moi de vous. Je suis un photographe indépendant basé dans le sud-ouest de la France. Mon approche du portrait est humaniste. Que ce soit pour des particuliers, pour des artistes (photos de presse, illustration, book…) ou pour des travaux plus personnels, l'écoute est l'élément de base de mon travail. Les autres éléments importants de ma vie sont ma famille, mes amis et la musique. Comment et quand avez-vous commencé la photographie? J'ai pris mes premières photos il y a presque 40 ans lors d'un voyage scolaire en Grèce avec un petit appareil offert par mon père. Quel est votre but dans la photographie ? Me confronter à l'autre, à ses tourments, à sa part d'ombre et surement à la mienne aussi. Que représente pour vous la photographie ? Un moyen de m'exprimer et je n'ai pas trouvé plus adapté que la photographie pour le moment. Comment votre travail ce différencie-t-il des autres? Je n'ai pas la prétention de dire que mon travail se différencie des autres mais si la photographie, c'est écrire avec la lumière, je dirais que j'écris plutôt avec l'ombre. Où puisez-vous votre inspiration? Cinéma, peinture (école flamande, caravagisme), musique…et quelques photographes bien sûr, tous morts pour la plupart (Penn, Ritts, Avedon, Sieff…) mais pas que (Lindbergh, Roversi, Moon…) Est ce que vous préparez vos images à l'avance? Ca occupe mes pensées mais je ne prépare rien de technique à priori. L'improvisation occupe une grande place dans mon approche. Trop de préparations empêche souvent l'apparition de ce qui doit être… Travaillez- vous vos photos et décrivez votre travail de post production? Très peu, je soigne au maximum la prise de vue (habitude prise avec l'argentique sûrement). Sinon, Lightroom x VSCO et parfois ASE7. - 120 -

Quels sont les endroits et les sujets qui vous interpellent le plus? N'importe lequel tant qu'il y a des humains mais si je mets les humains de côté, l'Ecosse. Qu'est ce que vous voudriez absolument photographier? Rien de précis, continuer à me laisser porter et à tenter de capter cette rencontre magique entre l'ombre et la lumière. Quelle est la chose la plus impor-tante que vous avez appris au fil des ans? L'écoute et l'humilité.

Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Krzysztof Kowalski and I am from Poland. Apart from being a photographer I also create various film productions. How and when did you get into photography? I got interested in photography because of my beloved woman, who started long before me. Though it does not mean I started from scratch. Before photography I was and still am a cinematographer and I create different film projects for companies. Recently I combined photography with film and started creating video sessions with models. What does photography mean to you? Photography is for me entering another world, where everyone can be whoever they want to be. Where you can show certain person in a chosen way. I think that when creating projects I can in some way stop time that is running so relentlessly. I think that after many years people from my photos will be looking back in time and thinking „how it was back then”. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. I never thought about whether I have my own style, though I have heard many times that my photos are “film like”. It is probably because my job that I do on daily basis. I think it is a good definition of my style: film like. Where do you get inspiration from? I try not to follow the trends, I try to go my own way. I never plan ahead frames or positions for models. It is all natural and spontaneus. Often when I do sessions in the forest then those places are speaking to me, I just know that we need to stop here and I feel that in this place there can be great picture taken. Think you in advance what you want in the picture? Probably as most of photographers I am searching for emotions, but not only. I also try to show surroundings or archtecture, apart from models. Studio, on location or both? Definitely on location, places outside give me much more fun of creating and give me unlimited possibilities. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? Definitely Canon. When it comes to lens, I recently fell in love in 85mm f/1.4 What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? One reasonable piece of advice that I can give is not to care about criticism of normal people that has nothing to do with photography. Photographer Elmar Woelm (el Mar) (Germany) Can you tell us a little about you? I am a passionate amateur photographer from Germany. Many years professionally I worked as a forester, in sylviculture and nature preserve. As I have always been interested in people, over the last years I changed my profession and now work as non medical psychotherapist and trainer of hypnotherapy (clinical hypnosis). I am author of several novels, lyrics and psychologically specialized books. How and when did you get into photography? As my father was a professional photographer, I grew up with cameras and photography and learned to photograph very early in my life. Many years I had my emphasis in landscape - and nature, as well as street photography. Two years ago I started to work with professional and semiprofessional Models – outdoor, on location and in studios. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. To put my photography in a certain style proves to be difficult. Pertaining to people photography I like to portray persons. The themes span from personal portraits to nude art. Besides working in studios I like to integrate people in nature, taking photographs in the forests, with trees, in fields, at water and rocks. I try to transcend any taboo and allow myself even to be provocative. If at all there is only one taboo I take very seriously: violence against human beings. If violence of any kind is expressed in pictures it should be integrated and contained in a deeper meaning and message. I decline any representation of violence just for fun or blatant purposes.

What does photography mean to you? Photography for me is pleasurable art, a form of self-expression and joy of pictures, colors and visual forms. It is also a kind of communication. Pictures and photography can transport Ideas. I love to be creative and reveal, express and describe life in its various forms – by means of photography as well as writing. In person/model photography my purpose is besides this to show the beauty of people – especially women – of all ages, and sizes and physical forms. To talk with Matt Blum: “There is beauty in every body.” I would like to give that a voice. People photography and working with models for me is always a creative interaction between the model and me as photographer. – Two human beings meeting for the purpose of creating a piece of art, beauty or other important ideas. So even though we may work very hard during the sets we also have fun and enjoy the process of photography. Where do you get inspiration from? My inspirations for photography com from many sources. There are, of cause, other photographers and their pictures. I visited a lot of workshops to learn from others and I like to learn from and be inspired by the models I work with. And there is life itself, personal encounters with people as well as literature and history which have their influence to my ideas and inspirations. Nature and staying in nature is a great stimulus for new visions. Think you in advance what you want in the picture? Only partly. In this sense for me photography works similar to my writing novels. Most of the time I have only certain (often vague) ideas, and as soon as I/we work on it the things begin to unfold and a creative process begins. But there may also be certain themes that guide the various sets we take, for instance in my borderline project, where the theme is to express various feelings of persons who suffer from this disease.

Can you tell us a little about you? Hi, my name is Andrea Ďurošová. I´m a 25 years old model from Slovakia. I love sport, art, traveling and meeting other cultures. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? I would definitely change some of my characteristics. I´m really bad at making decisions and overthinking. It takes me a long time to decide what is the best for me, and then it can sometimes stop me from growing or going in the right direction. I´m sure I will change it one day, I´m trying to work on it. :) How did you start modeling? I was walking in a shopping mall in Bratislava when a scouter from Sapphire Models Stopped me and offered me to visit the agency. A few months later I went to India for my first job. What do you think of the work as a model? It is very hard, especially in the beginning, when you are young and you just travel to another side of the world by not even knowing the language. It's also hard because the competition is very big. Nowadays with the era of the internet and social media is very easy to find new young models all over the world. Many people think that models just make a few photos a day in their cute outfit. But in reality most of the time the models work for e-commerce or catalogs where they have to change their clothes 100-500 times a day. Sometimes I had 3 jobs in a day. Two photoshoots and then recording a TV comedy show. I had days when I worked 40 hours in 2 days. You must think I had to earn a lot of money in those two days right? Not at all, I was having a fix monthly salary contract. I didn't earn more than I could get as a cashier in a supermarket. Every model has to go through this stage in the beginning, to get a better book and experience. What is your beauty regimen? Drink water and sleep as much as you can. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, I hope it helps haha. For the skincare, I always use products which are the most organic as possible. I use charcoal soap for cleaning my face and rosehip oil as a moisturizer. I love clay masks and any products that contain vitamin C. I love to use aloe vera juice as a tonic water. I don't agree with spending a lot of money on skincare products. I rather invest in good mascara or foundation base so all the makeup stays on the place for the whole day, while running from one casting to the other. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I´m an honest person, always try to say the truth, even if it is not what you would like to hear. There is always a way how to say what you want without hurting people around you. I try to be open and understand people, empathize with them. I´m also very professional in my job, I would never be rude or disrespectful on a shooting. I don´t like fake people and in this industry, there are way too many of them. - 172 -

What are your plans for the future? I started to do translations from English to the German language. After all those years of working with people, I would like to work by myself. I also study programming so I hope one day I can hack your software haha What are some of your favorite experiences so far? The best decision I ever made in my life was to travel. It makes you more open to anything and be able to understand other cultures. Makes you more responsible and independent. I love who I became, all thanks to modeling. Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? Yes, I do. Don´t be scared to travel, but don´t see the money, don´t see the fame, have respect and humility and you will get much more than the cover of Vogue. What do you think of the magazine? Honestly, I didn´t know the magazine before you contacted me with the request for an inter-view. I´m glad you did. I like the idea and the availability of the magazine. Photographer Florian Staffolani (Poland) Can you tell us a little about you? Hi, My name's Florian Staffolani and I'm a french self taught photographer living in the beautiful country of Poland for four years. How and when did you get into photography? I start doing photographs when I was student in ecology by shooting flowers and insects. From my point of view I really get into photography seven years ago when I broke my leg. Unable to walk a lot for a couple of months I started doing portraits in studio. What does photography mean to you? Photography is a way to use reality to create story. Even if I do lot of creative stuffs, like sewing, painting or wood work, only photography gives me creative fulfilment. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. I'm still experimenting a lot, but I do like very grafic pictures. Sometimes I just want to do something beautiful, sometimes I try to use personal emotion or preoccupation to produce an image who may make react people. Actually I will probably focus my work on portraits and get more and more in boudoir photography. Where do you get inspiration from? I can spend hours decorticating pictures composition and lighting plan from famous photographer, and I think I learned a lot by doing this. Inspiration can come from almost everything, even someone or a situation in the street. Nowadays, with mobile application like pinterest or instagram you see tons of images but you may also loose yourself. Think you in advance what you want in the picture? I never start a session without a specific idea. Sometimes I even make some drawing before the photoshoot. Once I got what I want or if model gives me something interes-ting I like to improvise. Studio, on location or both? 90% studio, I just start to do projects on location very recently. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I'm a passionate photographer who just start to be paid for my work. But I still do a lot of collaborations with models. What has been your most memorable session and why? For sure, it is my first session with Mika for my project “Carre Rouge�. Every session was usually 1h30-2h long, but Mika posed in the box at least 3 hours. She was com-pletely gone and didn't listen to me when I told her I had everything I needed and did'nt see that I've stopped shooting for the last 30 minutes. It was an impressive performance. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? Nikon since I bought a D700 long time ago and a couple of prime lenses. My favorite focal is 85mm because I did lot of portraits in studio but I do use more and more 50mm. Actually a part of my upcoming project will be made with a large format camera that I built last year. What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? Can you tell us a little about you? Hello everyone, my name is Gaby Guha. I’m a 20 year old international model from France. I am represented by several leading agencies, in different places across the world like Asia, Europe and Middle East. I’ve been doing modeling for the past 3-4 years now, and have worked for brand like Chaumet, Jean Louis David, GAP, Triumph Lingerie etc. I did lookbooks, cover shoot and editorials for magazines (Prestige Magazine, ICON Magazine, Lui Magazine). I traveled a lot. I’m also Miss Supermodel Worldwide France 2019. The Grand finale of Miss Supermodel Worldwide will be held in February 2019, in New Delhi, India. I’m super excited about that. It will be a great opportunity to represent my country and promote a cause I care about. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? I think I’m happy with my myself right now. But in the future I will really try to exercise more and continue to stay fit by running and yoga as it is important for my work and overall wellness. How did you start modeling? It’s really simple! I’ve was scouted and signed up in an agency in my hometown (South of France) when I was 17 yo. After I finished my school, the agency team encouraged me slowly to move to Paris. After 1 year in Paris, I flew to Asia for my first international modeling contract. What do you think of the work as a model? I think modeling is different from all other jobs. You need to have constant motivation and keep focus on your career and your goals. Now the fashion industry is more open minded. There are also different job opportunities (fashion, commercial, publicity) depending on your profile. And the impact of social media creates new types of jobs and possibilities. I personally see modeling as a good start in life. It’s a world with a lot of exposure, many different types of connections, and unique experiences.

What is your beauty regimen? I take care of my skin most of the time. I have balanced diet with many green vegetables, green juices and a lot of water. It’s good for the skin rejuvenation. I use coconut oil for my hair & natural vitamins or some French beauty brands for my skin (Avène, Clarins, Clinique) What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I think I have a sweet personality. I’m easy to work with. I respect everybody and I’m really exigeant with myself. My family and my friends would describe me as funny and chill. I smile and laugh most of the time. May be because I born in the south of France. What are your plans for the future? For this year I want to focus on Miss Supermodel Worldwide 2019 beauty pageant. It’s my first pageant so I’m really exited. I chose to represent France on this competition because I want to be an ambassador for Girl Child protection. I have seen some countries with big social inequalities. And it’s changed my mind a lot. What make you a good choice for Miss Supermodel Worldwide winner 2019? I think I’m a good choice because I always try to do my best, and I’m very dedicated to fashion. I have already been in India for a model contract. So I know little bit about Indian culture and traditions. Also, I’ve suffered from child bullying when I was a little girl, so it’s make me a good Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? I think you need be focused, try to do you role model. I can understand clearly what they feel best, and most important have fun!! Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Ania KryĹźa. I am a photographer from Poland. I am a econometric informatician by training with the specialization of computer graphic and multimedia. I am also Master of Management and Marketing. How and when did you get into photography? From a young age i was fascinated by photography. I was stealing analog camera from my mother and sister, but during that times i had problems with gathering money for film or develop a photograph. Over ther years I finally managed to buy my first camera. I remeber how hard I have been working and saving every penny from my first job at aquar-ium. When, in 2008, I bought first SLR camera I was crying like a baby with happiness. During that time I was studying in high school where I have met many, many great people who accepted me without looking at my financial status and clothes that i was wearing. They were crazy, positive artists who acknowledged me and infected with their passion. First time in my life I could finally be myself. At the beginning of my adventure i was phothographing the landscapes and animals. During that time i did not have time to show my work to my friends and besides closest family, no one saw my photos. That state of thing held until I my life changed again by falling in love in filmmaker. Christopher gave me and my work interest and support which I very needed. He was motivating me and with him every concerns dissapeared. I think that because of this things I could really spread my wings. I am very thankful to him for being such a great person. During 3 years my career developed in express tempo and I am sometimes horrified how many people is counting on me now. Think you in advance what you want in the picture? I think very often about specific frame, but sometimes it is just a spotnaneous decision. I also make many decisions about particular photo during its editing. I would rather not constrain myself with specific thought but would rather give myself a back door to spontaneous imagination. - 208 -

What does photography mean to you?At first glance this question can be simple and obvious but the answer is a little more complex. Photography is an incredible adventure, passion, feelings, freedom. I never thought that I will be ever able to be so free in expressing myself and that i can be someones inspi-ration. From my photos I am expressing myself, what i feel and what i think. I also never considered that I will be stopping time and saving people memo-ries who are so close to my heart. Photography is something very personal for me. It is like breaking into someones privacy, sort of poking around with permission of poked person. Fun fact is that in regular life i see everywhere frames and presets. Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. It is hard for me to crealry describe my photography style. For the long time I have had trouble with determining the style of my workings. I was afraid that I am a photograph without style and that people who will see my photos will not notice that I was the one who made it. However during the time I have gained more and more experience and my photos and my style started to be recognisable. With the method of trial and error I determined my aesthetics feeling. People, when they looked first time at my photos, were surprised because the never saw workings close to that. My style is my colours, my frames, my ideas and expressing of "secod me". I can not explain it in the other way. Where do you get inspiration from? Inspiration in my work are the people, because it is them who are beautiful and the most cruel in this world. I am inspired by stories, experiences and feelings which can be easily seen in the eyes and body of human. There is so many emotions hidden in poses of models, so much pain, emotional baggage, happiness, love in people. When I am looking and listening to the person and when I see the place of work, in my head I creates the vision of the frames and emotions which i want to pass to the viewers. I love the models who can put their all trust into me, who put themselves under my authority (no matter how bad it sounds). It does not mean that I do not respect the creativity. Studio, on location or both? I definitely prefer exterior sessions. Natural light is fundametal to my photographies. I like when the plece is setting the whole session. Exterior is often surprising form me an it is boosting my creativity. I also work in closed rooms which can be used in the interesting ways but in 99% I use only natural light of those rooms. Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? I can say that when I started making photos in 1999 as a hobby and during years it turned into fully professional photographer. Since young age it was my passion and pleasure. Now it is my job and love of my life. What has been your most memorable session and why? I have more than one memorable sessions so I can not tell which one was the best. I will only say that the best sessions was during winter where naked models worked in snow in temperature under 0ยบC. There were also very interesting the session on the beach where we used up 3 liters of milk to sprinkle on the model. I think that sessions which i like the most are the ones where models are going beyond their comfort zone. Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? For me it is a question type of: Lamborghini or Ferrari?. Now I am working with Canon 6D mark II and it is very comfortable and altough my first camera was Nikon, I do not regret the change. Recently my favorite lens is 35 mm f / 1.4 . What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? My best advice is: "look before you leap". Starting own buisness is often bonded with work in the way that the client want us to. Sometimes we have to do something against ourselves because of client vision. Its especially hard for us- photographers who highly values freedom in their work. When starting Your own company think about who will be Your clients and prepare your mindset for all kind of uncomfortable situations. The next advice is that this work is related to efficient managment of time and money so before starting make a good businessplan. Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Roksolana , but friends and colleagues call me Roksi . I was born in the south of Ukraine and spent my childhood on the banks of the Black Sea. I am a psychologist according to my education, but I work in the sphere of photography. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? Hmm ... I'd like to be taller. How did you start modeling? I consider the first professional photo session in the studio to be the start of my modeling career. It happened in 2015, I saw my classmate’s pictures in the social network. Those were beautiful, feminine photos, in the style of nude and I also wanted to try myself in this genre. As you can see, everything turned out. I am still photographed and get pleasure and money from it. What do you think of the work as a model? I think this work is not for everyone. It is not enough to have just a pretty face or be tall. A model is the universal soldier, with the ability to switch from one image to another quickly and cope with the tasks assigned. You have to be an actress! What is your beauty regimen? I like an active lifestyle: traveling, walking and cycling. I am engaged in fitness and stretching. I try to eat healthy food, but I do not keep on any diet. I'm against smoking. What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? I work very responsibly and always focus on results. What are your plans for the future? I plan a lot of projects in Europe. I want to create a base of photographers and help other models to search for earnings. What are some of your favorite experiences so far? Probably, this is a photo session on the Dead Sea. It was very hard and painful! Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? Selfmade / self taught Photographer with a big Passion for Hip Hop, Streetstyle, Streetwear (Joker Brand), Graffiti, but also for Gothic, Lingerie and Nude Art Pictures. Basically , I just do whatever I feel :) #mikekpics #mikekfotografie How and when did you get into photography? In the beginning there was my first big love: "Hip Hop". The Music, the Culture and the Attitude. I was making Beats and was working with many Rappers from my Hometown, Hildesheim, Germany and international. I even had my own Crew called "Freunde der Dunkelheit" (Friends of Darkness) later I started hanging around with Larry Läng and joined his Crew "Raw Diamonds". Those were the days of myspace 2005-2008. Great Times. Meeting many People and stuff. Underground. I will always listen to Hip Hop and I love taking photos of that kind of style. The Hip Hop Culture and Streetwear always influence me. Since I can remember I always liked to be photographed and behind the Cam i started in 2006 to do it more and more professional. Miss Europe Belgium 2018 Que pouvez-vous nous dire sur vous? Je m’appelle Noémie Lenglais. J’ai 21 ans. Je viens de la région de La Louvière (Hainaut, Belgique). Je suis actuellement des études en Education Phy-sique et Sportive. Si vous pouviez changer quelque de vous, qu'est-ce que cela serait? Quelque chose qui n’est pas encore au point chez moi, c’est ma ponctualité. Cela peut parfois me jouer des tours dans ce monde qui demande une certaine rigueur et discipline. Pourtant, je suis toujours bien orga-nisée. Mais j’arrive à palier ce problème. Quelles sont vos qualités personnelles qui vous distinguent des autres? Vouloir repousser mes limites, me lancer des challenges et m’inciter à m’intéresser à des choses qui, au premier abord, ne m’intéressait pas forcément. J’expérimente, je tente, j’essaie et si cela n’a pas fonctionné, cela reste une expérience, une leçon. Comment avez-vous commencé à être modèle? Lors d’un casting (auquel j’ai failli ne pas m’y rendre), j’ai rencontré une jeune femme, Joana (@itsmissjoana) ancienne mannequin pour Elite, qui m’a directement interpelé. Elle m’a demandé mes coordonnées et m’a annoncé vouloir bosser avec moi. Grâce à elle, j’ai eu la chance de travailler directement avec de bons photographes qui travaillent chez Canon Belgium (Ron Paolo Gilman, Kevin Hermans, Bruno Winnen, Pascal Vandecasteele,…). Je me suis donc retrouvé avec entre les mains un portfolio de belles photos travaillées par des professionnels. Et la machine s’est mise en route… Quelles sont vos meilleures expériences jusqu’à présent? Tous mes shoots m’ont apporté quelque chose. Que ça soit pour Canon, un shoot pro ou une collaboration. Avant tout, cela a complètement affirmé ma personnalité. J’ai gagné et je gagne encore en confiance en moi. J’y ai découvert l’amitié (Ron, Estelle,…), l’amusement mais également la discipline. Que pensez-vous de votre travail en tant que modèle? Comme tous modèles je pense, à la fin d’un shooting, parfois on est satisfait et fier de soi, du travail fourni, et parfois on se retrouve déçu, en se disant qu’on aurait pu mieux faire. Je ne peux auto juger mon travail. Il pourrait plaire à certains photographes comme complètement déplaire à d’autres. Ce pourquoi je préfère me laisse trouver. J’estime que si un photographe vient vers moi pour me proposer un projet, c’est parce que mon travail l’inspire. - 248 -

Comment voyez-vous la beauté? Quelle question compliquée. Je crois que la beauté c’est à la fois tout et rien. Nous la portons tous en nous mais nous ne la révélons pas de la même façon. Ce qui est beau pour l’un ne le sera pas forcément pour l’autre. La beauté n’a jamais l’unanimité ! Je crois que la façon la plus poignante de révéler notre beauté intérieur, c’est de parler avec les yeux. Quels sont vos projets pour l'avenir? Il va falloir bien organiser mon agenda car il se remplit de jour en jour. J’ai eu l’honneur de me faire remettre le titre de Miss Europe Belgium 2018 ce 15 septembre dernier. Je vais donc me rendre à Naples en compagnie de ma 1e dauphine afin de représenter la Belgique lors de la finale internationale pour le titre de Miss Europe Continentale le 24 septembre. Déjà beaucoup d’évènements sont prévus. Je vais tenter de faire de la place à quelques shootings. Ma priorité reste centrée sur mes études, bien évidemment, qui me demandent un investissement conséquent notamment pour mes stages. Avez-vous un conseil à donner aux personnes qui aimeraient commencer dans ce milieu? Il faut commencer quelque part. N’ayant pas de book et aucune expérience, renseigne toi sur ce qu’est le modelling, comment poser, comment « transformer » ton expression. Ensuite lance-toi ! Il faut aussi savoir que les réseaux sociaux sont devenus un vrai outil de travail et aussi un excellent moyen de se faire remarquer. Je pense notamment à Instagram. Tenir un compte Instagram avec des aperçus de tes shootings pro est un réel atout. Veille à ce que celui-ci soit attrayant, embelli ton feed, mets les bonnes informations dans ta bio, un lien pour te joindre, etc… Instagram est très prisé par les photographes et modèles, c’est un très bon outil pour établir des contacts. Que pensez-vous du magazine "Modellenland "? Je l’ai découvert il y a à peu près un an quand un des photographes avec qui j’ai travaillé a été publié (Christophe Lesage). J’ai été agréablement surprise. On y retrouve l’histoire de modèles, de photographes, en passant de l’amateur au professionnel et c’est dans cette mixité que ce trouve la richesse de ce magazine. instagram : @noemielenglais

Photographer Ronny Trippaers (Belgium) Can you tell us a little about you? I’m Ronny Trippaers, aged 48, in normal life IT Manager in the medical device world, which is a busy job requiring me to let go of some steam occasionally and I do that with photoshoots and music (Guitarist / Singer)… How and when did you get into photography? I got serious about photography in 2014…, when I financially could buy all the gear I wanted (not need) to play with. Initially I did not start with model photography but animals, the zoo’s and the parks… I accidentally ended up in a workshop I expected to be macro photography, but actually was a half-naked model being photographed in a “playboy” style, and I was hooked on model photography as of then with a twist, I wanted it to not be sexual or playboy like, but strong and nonchalant like in fashion… What does photography mean to you? I feel I’m being creative… For me photography is the best way to show someone your point of view, the way you see them. The freedom of being able to tell which colors make-up we will use, how to do the hair etc… allows me to shape a different version of a model and record it… Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers. I try on many things except boudoir, lingerie and artistic and on everything else I apply a sort of fashion style, strong moody looks… Some of my shots end up being like almost commercials… add a beer or whisky brand and that’s it… Most known I am for always requesting models to be ok with up to topless posing in my sessions because I like to vary in styles from fully clothed to semi naked (topless). Although my style is different than main stream as mostly we see boudoir like, artistic or erotic nudity, I like to bring it in a non-sexual way, just showing the beauty of the female body unrelated to… the thing… ;-) Where do you get inspiration from? Inspiration I get from seeing all those crazy good photographers around posting their images on social media and other platforms. I learned from many photographers just by looking at their images along the way but if I had to name one inspiring source that helped me grow the most in what I do today it is Thierry Goovaerts. Thierry’s eye for light making moody lighting scenes, posing models and so on, are superb... Think you in advance what you want in the picture? I always work with a mood board and an idea… It used to be different but I learned it’s not good as a photographer to say “euh, what now” or just say “do something” to the model… I learned to assist the model in posing and bringing my idea to live, off course with a team of creatives like make-up artists and / or styling… Studio, on location or both? Used to be studio but this year in summer, I really went out and did it. Previous years, I did occasional outdoor shoot but it was never my goal. I was a studio portret / fashion photographer mostly… More into up close and personal sessions than outdoor scenery… - 260 -

What has been your most memorable session and why? I remember a situation I was in a discussion about topless with someone who really wanted to work with me but I explained I would not if she is not capable of filling in the session as I needed it to be so she decided to bash me… A lot of people reacted in my favor but one reaction stood out from Nikie Vandeperre, a girl I never spoke with, never seen and never worked with. That session did not result in the best ever topless photos I made (I was still growing) but it remains by far the most special moment to date and she became, together with Yannick Van Thielen, my 2 most used models until date… Call it my two favorites…

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional? Hobbyist for sure, but generally people consider me a good hobbyist or mistake me for a professional… I would never be a good professional as I cannot put the passion and drive into baby shoots, pregnancy, marriages etc… My passion is exactly the thing I’m doing… Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens? No favorite, just using Canon :) Facvorite lens is deffinately the 85mm 1.2… Georgious bokeh and tack sharp… What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business? Business I don’t know, but any starting photographer should try not to invest too much money and time in just point and shoot setup. Invest little money in workshops with more experienced photographers and learn quick the ins and outs of working with models and definitely stop going naked too fast as so many do… What do you think of our new magazine? Je suis passionnée de mode et plus particulièrement de lingerie fine qui met le corps d’une femme en valeur et révèle sa féminité et sensualité, je suis aussi une grande passionné de musique et je chante aussi sur des rythmes soûl et danseuse aussi dans un style cabaret, j’espère qu’à travers mes photos j’ai pu vous faire partager ma passion de l’art. Si vous pouviez changer quelque de vous , qu'est-ce que cela serait? Si je pouvais changer quelque chose chez moi, ce serait ma hauteur j’aurais rêvée être grande. Quelles sont vos qualités personnelles qui vous distinguent des autres? Je me considère comme forte et sensible à la fois, j’ai un très grand cœur, j’adore l’humour et la simplicité, si je devrais décrire ma particularité c’est que je déteste ressembler aux autres, j’aime l’origi-nalité et j’ai toujours le sourire :) Comment avez-vous commencé à être modèle? J’ai commencer à être modèle suite à une proposition d’un magazine qui m’a proposé un book photos car il croyait en moi, chose que j’ai fait et l’aventure est parti de là et depuis 3 ans je m’épanouis totalement grâce à la photo. Quelles sont vos meilleurs expériences jusqu'à présent? Mes meilleures expériences à ce jour sont la collaboration avec certains créateurs et créatrices de vêtements, tournage silhouette dans un clip vidéo musicale et ma rencontre avec un photographe pro de talent qui m’a appris énormément de choses pour poser et être un bon modèle Mathieu Galfré que je remercie énormément, et bientôt je me lance dans la figuration pour une série tv française. Que pensez-vous de votre travail en tant que modèle? Je pense me donner à fond dans chaque shooting, je m’investis au maximum pour un résultat au top, je suis à l’écoute des photographes et de ce qu’il veulent en rendu, je cherche toujours de nouveaux projets pour apprendre et progresser de jour en jour. Comment voyez-vous la beauté? Pour moi la beauté représente la beauté de l’âme et du cœur et non la beauté extérieure celle-ci n’est qu’apparence. On trouve spuvz’t la beauté du cœur dans le regard qui lui s’exprime naturellement. Quels sont vos projets pour l'avenir? Mes projets pour l’avenir sont de me lancer dans le théâtre et le cinéma et aussi la danse. Avez-vous un conseil à donner aux personnes qui aimeraient commencer dans ce milieu ? Can you tell us a little about you? My name is Amelia Jones, I’m 20 years old and am currently living in Manchester. I’ve just started my first year at the Manchester School of Theatre and so far I’m loving every second. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? Good question. I’d say that in terms of modelling, I would like to be a bit taller, as my mere height of 5’5 can sometimes prevent me from certain opportunities. However, in a broader sense I’d love to be a better cook. I don’t have the patient required and Just Eat is so tempting… How did you start modeling? It all started because of my performance background. I began dancing aged three, and acting properly around 14. Being put forward for auditions meant that I needed headshots to be taken by various professional photographers. The more I did this and put them on social media, the more interested I had to do fashion style shoots. I was very lucky in that way; that most of the work came to me rather than me chasing it. What do you think of the work as a model? I find modelling work really fun. If you build a good relationship with the photographer it’s easy to input your own ideas and have a laugh in the process. The best thing about it is that you can just let go and try different things - at the end of the day none of the ‘bad’ ones will be used for anything anyway, so you can just go for it. What is your beauty regimen? I’m ashamed to admit my beauty regimen is a little non-existent at the moment, but I am getting better. I’m currently using Clinique for my cleanse, tone and moisturise routine. On a regular day I won’t wear any make up, but if I’m going out or want to dress up I’m obsessed with the Chanel Glow Gel Foundation as a base, then winged eyeliner paired with a red lipstick. A classic look that never fails.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others? In terms of looks, I get a lot of comments about my eye shape, which comes from my British/Sri Lankan mix. Apparently it’s pretty challenging to do my eye make up as they look different when they are closed as to when they are open. I also have two natural accents which I used in different situations, one English, one Scottish… I guess that’s pretty unusual. What are your plans for the future? In terms of the future, I’m hoping to become a professional actor, working throughout the industry in film, television and theatre. I want to do a lot of travelling and really explore and challenge what I know of the world. As a person I very rarely turn an oppor-tunity down - so hopefully a few spontaneous things will come into the mix too!

What are some of your favorite experiences so far? After I left school I went out to Sri Lanka with my friend Hannah and volunteered with young children, teaching English. It was an incredible experience which showed me a part of the world I’d never seen, as well as a level of gratitude I’d never been blessed with before or since. Another exper-ience I’ve been totally blessed with was being a backing dancer at the European Music Awards in 2014. I was sixteen years old and the whole experience was so overwhelming, but one of the most memorable nights of my life. And then of course falling in love is pretty cool too. Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling? In terms of modelling, I would say get in contact with all the agencies in your local area. Most want you to send in photographs and specifications, but some have a drop in service. If you’re like me (a shorty), you might find that people are reluctant to represent you, but my advice would be that if you want to be a model, don’t let that stop you. If there’s a will, there’s a way as the old phrase goes. There are hundreds of photographers that don’t go through agencies to find their models, and instead find them through word of mouth or social media. Go onto facebook and find the network of models and photographers in your local area. It’s all about networking.
