What begins as simple dots builds into a lively, graphic pattern that adds movement and energy to any project. Small, bold, and just a little bit rebellious, because blending in was never really the plan.
Sugar is a print originally called Sprinkle, inspired by the way sugar scatters across the table when you’re baking: a little messy, a little magical. It’s one of those prints that’s stayed with me, finding its way into the background of so many prints over the years.

Spark was released alongside my very first RSS collection, Social, in 2019. For several years, every time I made a new collection, I would add a few colors of Spark to support it. It’s been a long time since I’ve done a new Spark print, so it I felt really excited to bring it back for Sidekicks!
Add It Up was first released over 12 years ago with my Paper Bandana fabric collection. I wanted to create a basic that felt a little like a polka dot and a little like a woven texture. I remember getting the first samples back in 2014 and now Add It Up has been in almost every quilt I’ve made since that first release!

Early last year I was going through a box of keepsakes and found one of my favorite dresses. It was a dress my mom made me when I was around 12. It had a big sunflower print (very very 1990's!) that filled me with happy memories and nostalgia. I immediately started drawing sunflowers and animals and they grew into this sunny, happy and colorful collection, Daisy Days.
I hope this collection brings sunshine and joy to your sewing projects!
FI just love a cute skunk. I really do. My little skunks with their daisies were inspired by cute felt applique animals and vintage kids patches. I just love their big eyes and their cute poses.
My inspiration for Warp & Weft Daisy Days collection was pretty dreamy. I imagined a seaside journey with picnics, parties and late nights on the beach by a fire. I remembered a couple family trips to the pacific coast beaches and this is what came out! This collection is festive, bright and cheery and introduces some new weaves. I am particularly excited about all the dots!

After creating Sparkle Mart, Melody was excited to keep the grocery shopping fun going. The hero of this collection is her Sparkle Shopper print, a playful, vintage-inspired ad sheet for Sparkle Mart, available in both a full-color version and a sepia newsprint colorway.
Feeling especially interested in the produce department, Melody brought back fan-favorite Apples, and also revisited her Tangerines supporter design. She also added several new fruit and vegetable prints, creating a collection filled with lush greens and blues, warm reds and yellows, and vibrant neon pinks.
Sparkle Shopper also features seven new colorways of Hearts, the perfect supporting print for the rest of the group.

With a casual comment that the quilts I enjoy making the most are those using a wide variety of my prints from multiple collections, Betsy’s Best was born. I poured through nearly 800 charm and mini charm squares to narrow the scope of colors and variety of prints to about 100 options, then to 80 and lastly, to 40.
Capturing prints for color stories as well as variety of styles and time periods was a little daunting, a bigger task than I imagined. You’ll find prints from early 1800s Eliza’s Indigo through Goodnight Irene at 19th Century’s end, and all in between, perfect for the two featured scrap quilts, Harriet’s Thimbles and Betsy’s Scrap Box.
Harriet's Thimbles first featured in the line by the same name uses two sizes of templates that I designed with Paper Pieces and are available on Moda’s website. Antique thimble quilts are usually made from many pieces of fabric, collected over the years.
Betsy’s Scrap Box is inspired by the largest antique quilt in my collection, a scrap fabric delight, with the ease of one repeated block.

It’s been fun to play with two-color collections like my recent Blackbird’s Nest and Bluebird's Nest. The red & cream collection, Cardinal’s Nest, is especially dear to me. We’ve had a wonderful assortment of birds at our feeders over the years, but seldom enjoyed seeing a cardinal. Dad has been gone for years, Mom passed away last summer. Since then, a pair of cardinals has been hanging out at the bird bath and nesting in our cottonwood tree. I’m so excited they’ve adopted us! I’d like to think it’s Mom & Dad, watching over us, as we enjoy life on the homestead that’s been in our family for four generations. We like to visit local museums when we’re away from home as they’re always full of the rich unique history of the place, we always learn a thing or two too and I inevitably come away with some fresh inspiration.
Last summer we found ourselves in Plymouth for the day and in their museum, we found hundreds of butterflies collected by George Carter Bignall (1826-1910) a well - known (in his day and in Plymouth still!) entomologist beautifully displayed and lit in huge glass cases.
The sheer variety of wing markings, shapes and colours were fascinating to me, and I spent a long time admiring and taking them all in.
Naturally I started drawing and painting butterflies as soon as I was home and re-united with my paintbox and here are the results for you all to enjoy.

“Ombre Dream” is a celebration of everything we have loved about ombre fabric from the very beginning of V and Co. Since our very first collection, ombre has been part of our story, and part of the magic. I feel there has always been something exciting about the movement of color, the versatility, and the surprise that comes from creating with ombre fabric.
One of my favorite things about ombre is that two people can start with the exact same bolt of fabric and end up with two completely different quilts, simply based on how they choose to cut and place the colors. The fabric itself becomes part of the creative process, adding depth, movement, and unexpected beauty to every project.
“Ombre Dream” takes that idea and pushes it even further. Some of the fabrics in this collection have more than shades of a single-color fading from light to dark, it is a flowing blend of sometimes multiple colors shifting together in a mystical, dreamlike way. The colors move and fluctuate across the fabric almost like a painted sky or a dream you cannot quite explain. To truly experience this collection: Reach for the bolt, unroll a yard or two, open the fabric fully from the fold, and step back. That is when the magic happens. The full beauty of the color movement reveals itself in a way that feels both artistic and unexpected. The possibilities with “Ombre Dream” are endless. Every cut highlights something different. “Breezy” is a collection rooted in nostalgia, sunshine, and the simple beauty of summers gone by. Inspired by the vintage floral sheets I grew up with…the ones that danced on the clothesline in the warm breeze, this collection is filled with soft memories of uncomplicated days, open windows, and sun-warmed air.
The palette blends cheerful pinks, oranges and magentas, summery yellows, fresh greens and teals, fun blues, and touches of lavender, all wrapped in layers of blooming florals that feel both timeless and comforting. The background fabric is my favorite, a cross stitch of different flowers. Flowers have always held a special place in my heart, and every print in Breezy reflects that love with playful vintage-inspired designs and delicate details.
What makes this collection especially meaningful to me is that it brings everything full circle. One of the original vintage sheets that inspired my very first Moda collection returns once again in Breezy, like revisiting an old friend. It is a celebration of where my fabric journey began.

The idea for Tid Bits has been rolling around in my head for a while. I’ve collected antique fabrics, especially feed sacks, for many years and have several hundred of them.
They’ve inspired many of my previous fabric groups but I’ve always dreamed of an entire collection using JUST them. Something scrappy, fun and random. Something like I walked into a quilt shop and just started pulling bolts off the wall!

Growing up in South Africa, wildlife was never something we had to travel far to see. Even now, our neighbouring farm has wildebeest and zebra, and they are occasionally spotted on the way to school. Game Reserve and safari experiences here are truly special - giraffes moving through the early morning mist, elephants crossing the road ahead of us, the particular stillness that settles over the bush before the sun comes up. A safari drive is a lesson in paying attention. In listening, feeling and noticing the rhythm of nature around you, just like a song.

Meadowbrook is a collection that is inspired by several favorites of mine. One of those favorites are the floral prints that bring back memories of one of my favorite trips - this one to Norway. I fell in love with the many of the traditional prints that I found there. They remind me of the lovely hospitality & warmth of the people I met there. So the florals in Meadowbrook are a salute to all the beauty I experienced there.
The other favorite that I was inspired by is a favorite quilt of mine. (… You know the kind - it’s the one you want to have on your bed all the time - but now have to rotate it with other quilts because it is showing signs of being ‘loved’… & you want it to last!) The colors in Meadowbrook are ones that are in that very ‘loved’ quilt. From linen whites, warm pinks, soft reds, gentle blues & greens, & grounding cobblestone hues, the colors that come together in Meadowbrook can be used all together for a wonderful scrappy mix, or paired together, creating a palette for your imagination… & my hope is that you will be inspired and find it becomes one of your favorites too!
