A MONTH IN MOTION

April is here, and I can’t believe how quickly time is flying! Everywhere I turn, I see hot cross buns, chocolate bunnies, and all things Easter, and I’m so excited to get into the holiday spirit. If you’ve read my first blog, you already know I love any excuse to decorate the house and yes, that includes matching PJs for the kids (and sometimes even Milo, my adorable poodle Maltese mix). For those wondering, I believe his official breed name is a “MaltiPoo” but to me, he’s just my fluffy little sidekick!

Salon News: Exciting New Products!

There’s something fresh in the salon, and I couldn’t be more excited! We’ve just received the brand new Alfaparf Milano Semi di Lino Style & Care range, and let me tell you it’s gorgeous. The scent alone is pure happiness, with top notes of pink peppercorn, pear, and blackcurrant, heart notes of rose, jasmine, and heliotrope, and a warm base of cedarwood and vanilla. Every time I use it, I feel instantly uplifted!

So far, my absolute favourites are:

• Flexible Mousse – Perfect for soft, bouncy hold.

• Blow-Dry Cream – Smooths, speeds up drying, and fights frizz what more could you want?

It had been a while, so I thought it was time to treat myself! I’ve just ordered a few new scissors from Excellent Edges including the 6.5-inch Phantom. I can’t wait to try them out I’ll let you know how they go!

Education & Creativity: A Busy Month Ahead

I’m heading west again soon, thanks to Alfaparf, where I’ll be showcasing four models using the new Semi di Lino Style & Care range. I’ll be demonstrating how to get the best results with these products, and I can’t wait to share my tips and tricks. I love opportunities like this getting hands on with new products, refining techniques, and bringing fresh inspiration back to the salon.

And by now, all submissions for our latest collection should be in! For the AHIA Awards. As always, my husband Chris and I work closely on these projects he’s the colour expert, I handle the cutting, styling, and fashion direction, and of course, we have our incredible mentor, photographer, and boss (who also happens to be our brother/brother in law) Bill Tsiknaris (Billy) guiding us along the way. Choosing the right models is always a challenge since every collection has a unique vision. It’s a mix of excitement, stress, and creativity all rolled into one!

Some of my favourite moments are when my three are at the salon on prep days, watching the whole creative process unfold . Who knows maybe one day, they’ll be following in our footsteps!
