OPHELIA 2024/25 AHIA HOTSHOTS COLLECTION

Having already received their prize packs of a Joico styling kit, EVY Professional electrical kit, Excellent Edges full scissor kit, DP EXO GROW kit,and an Amazing Hair editorial styling kit, while in the HOT SHOTS House, not to mention mixing with iconic hairdressing greats both in real life and via zoom, the 2024/25 HOT SHOTS Team were ready for the creative aspect of their tenure.

This year especially, the team’s willingness to experiment, take risks, and trust the creative process was truly remarkable. I encouraged them to let go of what they thought they should do and instead lead with their hearts and imagination—because that’s where the real magic happens. Culminating in an all-expenses paid photoshoot with world class photographer Andrew O’Toole and Kylie O’Toole, the team consisting of Adam Harant, Ella Stewart, Domi Novella and Victoria Fletcher spent a few precious days together once again to create sheer beauty in a collection that evolved through the creative process before and during the shoot under the mentorship of Hair Director, Carolyn Gahan and Creative Director Jarred Stedman. The Concept – Ophelia.

Shakespeare’s fragile heroine, long defined by sorrow, submission, and a watery grave, has been reimagined in this bold, modern interpretation by the 2024/5 Hotshots Team who have brought new life into her story, shifting the narrative from helplessness to power.

This is not the Ophelia we’ve come to expect.
This is: What if she didn’t? What if she could fight?

Each image in this very special photographic collection captures one of five visceral human emotions – Defiance, Grief, Rebirth, Love, and Madness, charting an alternate path for Ophelia. One where she doesn’t drown but rises. One where sorrow fuels strength, and vulnerability transforms into defiance.

Through striking hair artistry and evocative visual storytelling, this collection reframes tragedy into triumph. It’s a tribute to resilience. A rebellion against fate. A hauntingly beautiful declaration that even the most broken stories can be rewritten.

Both the Prep and Collection shoot were hosted at Vic University where the team created a stunning mix of colour, length and precision cutting resulting in a collection that could easily grace any high-end fashion magazine in the world!

Guided and mentored by Andrew O’Toole this experience is truly priceless and something that will be remembered and treasured for many years to come by the team!
