Mais e melhor internacionalização Bigger and better internationalization Sem surpresa mas com muito orgulho – foi assim que vi a participação das marcas portuguesas na Maison et Objet, em Paris, uma das mais importantes mostras internacionais de decoração. Anualmente (na verdade é duas vezes por ano, mas o certame de janeiro suplanta, em qualidade e em quantidade, a edição de setembro) as melhores marcas do Mundo reúnem-se na capital francesa para apresentarem as novidades no campo da decoração e dos artigos para o lar. É para Paris, e para janeiro que os decoradores, os designers de interiores e os arquitetos marcam encontro e é de lá que partem as novas tendências de interiorismo.

Entre as melhores, lá estavam, sem surpresa, as marcas portuguesas que há muito nos habituaram aos grandes palcos da decoração. Paris 2016 foi mais um belo exemplo de afirmação de Portugal. Batemos com os melhores e não lhes ficamos atrás. Digo-o com orgulho até porque – que me desculpem a presunção – a revista Mobiliário em Notícia tem contribuído muito, desde sempre, para o sucesso das marcas portuguesas no mercado internacional.

Mas, tal como a história nos conta, não basta chegar ao topo, é preciso fazer tudo mas guardar essa posição. Na verdade, a marcas portuguesas trabalharam imenso para atingir o topo da pirâmide.

Foram anos a fio, primeiro apenas a lutar por um espaço nos certames mais importantes, depois a lutar por melhorar a localização dos seus stands. E isto sem falar de fazer o trabalho de casa desenvolvendo conceitos e produtos capazes de cativar os mais importantes clientes internacionais.

As alterações políticas que se viveram em Portugal, com uma nova maioria parlamentar e um Orçamento de Estado que, apesar de tudo, teve a aprovação de Bruxelas e das agências de rating pode criar as condições para que melhorar a imagem do nosso país no estrangeiro e transmitir mais confiança aos parceiros comerciais das marcas portuguesas. E eram muitos aqueles que se queixavam de ser a falta de confiança o maior obstáculo à concretização de mais e melhores negócios.

With no surprise but with a lot of pride - that was how I saw the participation of Portuguese brands at the Maison et Object, in Paris, one of the most important international decoration exhibitions. Annually (actually twice a year, but the January show surpasses, in both quantity and quality, the September edition) the best brands in the world come together in the French capital to present the news in the field of decoration and housewares. It’s in Paris, and in January, that decorators, interior designers and architects meet, and it is there that they set the new trends for interior design.

Among the best were, with no surprise, the Portuguese brands that have long made us acquainted with the big stages of decoration. Paris 2016 was another beautiful example of Portugal’s affirmation.

We compete with the best and at the same level. I say this with pride specially because - and excuse me for being presumptuous - the Mobiliário em Notícia magazine has contributed a great deal, since its inception, for the success of Portuguese brands in the international market.

But, as history shows us, it is not enough to make it to the top, we have to keep that position. In truth, the Portuguese brands have worked immensely to reach the top of the pyramid. It took years on en, first just struggling for a place in the most important shows, then struggling to improve the location of their stands. Not to mention all their homework to develop concepts and products capable of captivating the most important international clients.

The political changes that we have undergone in Portugal, with a new majority in parliament and a State Budget that, despite everything, was approved by Brussels and by the rating agencies, may create the conditions necessary to improve the image of our country abroad and to transmit more confidence to the commercial partners of Portuguese brands. And many were those who complained that the lack of confidence was the greatest obstacle to the accomplishment of bigger and better deals.

In this edition of Mobiliário em Notícia you will find, in every page, a reason to appreciate the Portuguese product. Our end goal is to share with you the pride we take in national production.
