Life experiences, trials and joy lead us to be the woman we are today and sometimes that woman is exactly who we were created to be. Our experiences mold us, inspire us; some teach us about priorities by showing us what things we should do today and which ones we should wait on. With life pulling us in so many directions and opportunities, it’s easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle, loosing ourselves in the routine of life, never stopping to smell the roses. We miss the good things in life often because of our task at hand. Lots of times, we miss the opportunity to help someone who needs exactly what we have by simply not lifting our heads from our cellphone. But sometimes, as women, we band together shouting with one voice yelling, ‘Enough is enough.’ And when we do that, the world listens! Women around the world have yelled loudly for the cause of Breast Cancer and the results have been astounding. The month of October is nationally known as Breast Cancer Awareness month. As women, we are poised to be each other’s cheerleaders not the enemy. So as we look out into the month of October, I charge each of you to be the cheerleader in someone’s life that is facing, not just breast cancer, but any type of cancer that has tried to consume their life.

Second Mass Meeting Held
The Mobile District Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society held its Second Mass Meeting on March 26, 2022. Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, It was held via the Zoom Platform. The Young Adult Missionary Society was in charge of the program.
We were excited to have the First Lady of the Mobile District, Mrs. Lourdes Thorn, to serve as the Presiding Officer. Mrs. Thorn is the former Coordinator of YAMS of the New Rock Hill District, Rock Hill, South Carolina. The program began with a short devotion, followed by a video on Transformative Service, presented by Mrs. Melanie Parker. Following the offering, Mrs. Stefany Gant, District Coordinator of YAMS, introduced Ms. Shameka Crusoe, who has since been certified as a License Marriage & Family Therapist and has ben promoted to Mobile County Juvenile Court Therapist.
Ms. Crusoe, during her presentation, spoke on the topic “Running on E: Can You Win the World for Christ When You Have Nothing Left?” She gave helpful tips on self care to ensure that we as missionaries are best positioned as we spread the love of Christ.
The Mass Meeting was concluded with remarks from Mrs. Elizabeth Butler, Mobile District President and Rev. Dr. Titus Thorn, Presiding Elder, followed by the Missionary Benediction.

Supply Style
Faith AND Service. The Mobile District Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society’s Bureau of Supply collected items for the Toulminville/LeFlore feeder schools. These basic hygiene items, blessed by our Presiding Elder Rev. Dr. Titus Thorn at our Mass Meeting, will help students from kindergarten to 12th grade who are in need.
District Secretary of Supply Mrs. Lola Petway and Coordinator of the Young Adult Missionary Society, and LeFlore alumnae, Mrs. Stefany Gant, delivered these items to Ms. Hillaire Lett, Counselor at LeFlore High School.
Youthful Things Anniversary Celebration
The Mobile District Annual Missionary Celebration was held May 22, 2022, virtually. The Program was hosted by District Secretary of Youth Mrs. Diana Rivers and the Solomon Temple AME Zion Church.

Youth and BUDS Host 3rd and 4th Mass Meeting
The 3rd and 4th Mass Meeting was held September 10, 2022, at New Ship AME Zion Church. The Youth and BUDS were in charge of the program. After a short devotion, Mrs. Elizabeth Butler, District President , introduced the presenter, Mrs. Janese Sanders.. Mrs. Sanders, a former Mobile County Public Schools Principal, presented on “Rules , Procedures, and Schedules” for school aged children. The program also focused on BUDS and Youth participation, with the children leading the program. There was also a very spiritual praise dance showcase.
The Mass Meeting concluded with remarks from Mrs. Butler and Presiding Elder Titus Thorn.
proud of all of our Youth. Special Congratulations goes out to Abrianna Smith of Asbury Chapel AME Zion Church who was crowned Junior Y, and Kaiteari Ward of Solomon Temple AME Zion Church who was crowned Senior Y.

Solomon Temple AME Zion Church paraded through the streets of Moss Point, Mississippi, spreading the message that God is alive and well. Mrs. Aniece Lee, Local President, the Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society.
We thank God that for the first time since before COVID, all six District Officers were able to come together at the West Alabama Conference 2nd Check up Meeting. We were excited to have our Presiding Elder, Dr. Titus Thorn and our Bishop, the Right Reverend George Crenshaw, join us for a picture.
The Missionary Department at Twin Beech AME Zion collected toiletries to donate to the Toulmiville feeder schools. The Missionaries also collected soda tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.
The Annual Conference will be held November 17 20, 2022, at Pilgrim Rest AME Zion Church, Whistler, Alabama. The Missionary Convocation is scheduled for November 18, 2022, at 9:00 am. During the Convocation, please wear departmental colors. For the Friday Evening Candlelight Service , please wear white with stoles. Please note, the Bureau of Supply will have a Prayer Brunch. More details to follow. All roads lead to New Orleans in July 02 2023. Join us as we march into New O Orleans….WHOMS style!!!
