Goal ď‚– To identify and practice service that will please GOD

Romans 1:25 ï‚– The Creator vs. the creation

The soul comprises Mind/intellect Heart/emotions Will/decision making
The BIBLE is needed to successfully create a wedge between soul and spirit
Where is your power struggle? ď‚–
ď‚– Due to these power struggles serving God in the acceptable way is not as easy as one would think
With reverence, respect & fear ď‚– Deuteronomy 6:13; Psalm 2;11; Hebrews 12:28;
The role of the Tanakh (Old Testament) ď‚– was to establish the difference between holy and common (Leviticus 10:10,11; Ezekiel 22:26)
ď‚– But if we served God today like was done in the Tanakh our service would be unacceptable
ď‚– In these modern times the Living God opened up a living way from Christ through the Holy Spirit (Romans 7:6; Hebrews 10;19,20)
Romans 7:6
These acts on display for public view lead to death ï‚– Hebrews 9:14
Works that lead to death Smooth talk/politically correct Flattery Deception Division Setting snares/traps
Romans16:17,18
ď‚– The death of Christ and the shedding of His blood, enabled through the Holy Spirit, purifies the conscience (Hebrews 9:14)
The new way of serving is a living way ï‚– Hebrews 10:20
produce life
Service in the Holy Spirit ď‚–
Some serve In their soul The soul leads to death
In Spirit The Spirit gives life
Self… Human intellectualism (Romans 8:6) Feelings manipulated by environment (Proverbs 4:23) Human lusts (James 1:14-16)
leads to death
Service that makes self feel good is not acceptable service pleasing to God
ď‚–
God is served with joy and gladness ď‚– Deuteronomy 28:47; Psalm 100:2; Romans 14:15-18;
If joy were a human emotion it would be confined to the soul ď‚–
with joy
Joy is a product of the Holy Spirit ď‚– Romans 14:15-18; Galatians 5:22;
John 4:24; Romans 7:6; Romans 1:9,10; Romans 14:15-18; Acts 13:1-3;
Romans 8:26 ï‚–
John 4:23; Luke 2:37; Revelation 7:15;
Grace is the only essential component required for service ď‚– Hebrews 12:28; Hebrews 4:16;
Notice these worshippers during service ď‚– Notice how they gave their bodies, time, life, focus and priority
Observe what was given in service was not man-made in nature Acts 13:1-3; Luke 2:37-38; Romans 1:9,10; Revelation 7:15;
If your service to God is man-made it is not acceptable ď‚–
So having entered into the new and living way  we must first pick up a portion of grace from God’s throne (Hebrews 4:16)
1 Peter 2:5 Hebrews 10:22
But in God’s temple we must be led 
Romans 8:14 John 12:26
There are those who serve the Creator in their own way ď‚– Genesis 4:5,7
Genesis 4:4; Hebrews 12:24;
There are also those who are afraid of God’s presence  and constantly pull back
Hebrews 4:1,11; Hebrews 10:39;
