1 Timothy 5:22
Don’t be hasty to ordain ministers by laying on of
hands as ministers must always be tested, meet God’s criteria and be approved for service (Acts 6;3; Titus 1:6,7; 1 Timothy 3:10; 2 Timothy 2:15) Do not participate in other people’s sins as evil
spirits can be transferred with the practice of laying on of hands. Evils spirits lead a person into many uncontrollable sins
# 1 God’s Spirit always produces self-discipline,
balance, self control or soundness in a person (2 Timothy 1:6,7; Galatians 5:22,23) # 2 The spirit of a person should always be under
the control of that person (1 Corinthians 14:32,33)
If a spirit has been transferred to a person then that person is pushed beyond the place of self control This is a sign that THIS SPIRIT IS NOT OF GOD
1.
to ordain ministers to a spiritual office (Numbers 8:10-14;Matthew 3:16,17; Matthew 21:23; Acts 6:6; Acts 13:3; 1 Timothy 4:4)
2. to grant authority (Numbers 28:18-23; Matthew
21:23; Acts 6:6; Acts 13:3; 1 Timothy 4:4) 3. to transfer spirits (Deuteronomy 34:9; Acts 8:17;
Acts 19:5,6)
4. to transfer gifts of the Spirit (2 Timothy 1:6) 5. to transfer healing (Mark 16:18; Luke 4:40; Acts
9:11-12,17-18) 6. to transfer blessing (Genesis 48:14-20; Matthew
19:13-15; Mark 10:13-16)
 7. to transfer people’s sin to an animal to be
sacrificed (Leviticus 3:1,2; Leviticus 4:3,4,23,24; Leveticus 16:20-22; Numbers 8:12)
A man used to commanding power and public
attention desired to purchase the ability to lay hands on others (vs. 9-11,13) He was not a man of God (vs. 9,11,21-23) He wanted power to do what he wanted, whenever he wanted (vs. 19) He was prepared to pay for this ability (vs. 18,20) He then made a profession of faith in Christ (vs. 13) His next move was strategic as he immediately
attached himself to an undiscerning man of God
in leadership (vs. 13) Simon was used to power and performing amazing feats so he was dazzled by this new power (vs. 9-11,13) Men of God with discernment were needed to detect Simon’s bitter, wicked, crooked heart (vs. 14,18-24)
