40 YEARS

Celebrating 40 Years of God’s Faithfulness: A Journey with LifeSpring Pregnancy Centers

Dear LifeSpring Family,

As we enter 2024, we embark on a remarkable milestone— celebrating 40 years of unwavering service to Central Virginia. This journey, filled with countless stories of hope, resilience, and transformation, is a testament to the faithfulness of God and the unwavering dedication of individuals like you who have walked alongside us since our inception in 1983.

Reflecting on our humble beginnings, I am reminded of the visionary leaders and passionate advocates who laid the foundation for LifeSpring Pregnancy Centers. In 1982, a group of pioneers convened with a shared mission - to explore alternatives to abortion. Their commitment and determination set the stage for the birth of our organization, planting seeds of compassion and empowerment in our community.

Significant milestones and expansion marked the years that followed. From our inaugural Board Meeting in 1983 to the opening of our first center in Charlottesville in 1984, each step forward was fueled by the collective effort of individuals who believed in our mission. With the establishment of the Culpeper Center in 1998 and the Orange Satellite Center in 2003, we extended our reach to serve more women and families in need, embodying the spirit of compassion and inclusivity.

In 2005, amidst the challenges posed by neighboring abortion clinics, we stood firm in our commitment to life-affirming care. With the support of generous donors and partners, we pioneered abstinence education programs and received federal grants, empowering us to make a tangible impact in the lives of young people across Central Virginia.

As we transitioned to ThriVe Women’s Healthcare of Central Virginia in 2019, we embraced a new chapter guided by a renewed sense of purpose and identity. However, our journey took an unexpected turn in 2022 as we decided to reaffirm our roots and transition to LifeSpring Pregnancy Centers. This pivotal moment, filled with prayer and reflection, reaffirmed our commitment to serving with integrity and compassion, rooted in the timeless values that have guided us from the beginning— “Life assured for every baby, hope renewed for every family, and lives transformed through Jesus Christ.”

As we celebrate this milestone, I am filled with profound gratitude for the individuals who have shaped our journey—from our dedicated volunteers and staff to our visionary leaders and faithful supporters. I am especially thankful for those whose wisdom continues to inspire and guide us and who are still serving in this organization today.

Looking back on the lives we have touched and the families we have helped build, I am reminded of the profound impact of our collective efforts. From the babies saved in the ‘80s and ‘90s to the thriving individuals they have become, each life transformed is a testament to the power of love, compassion, and community.

As we look ahead to the next chapter of our journey, I am filled with hope and anticipation for the lives we will continue to impact and the stories we will help write. Together, let us continue to stand as

beacons of hope and agents of change, embodying the timeless values of compassion, dignity, and love.

In closing, I echo the words of Scripture: "Remember the things of old." Let us cherish the memories of our past, celebrate today's victories, and embrace tomorrow's possibilities, knowing that God's faithfulness endures through every season.

With heartfelt gratitude and anticipation,

Jacob Dunn

Why I Volunteer at LifeSpring Pregnancy Centers!

My husband and I were both born into situations which might have easily ended in abortions—he to a teenage mom, and me to an older mom whose late in life pregnancy was high risk. We are both very grateful to be alive! We have supported the Pregnancy Center financially for 40 years, and as the youngest of our 5 children has recently gone off to school, I am now volunteering my time, too, so that we can help other women facing difficult circumstances to find not only the knowledge, support and resources they need, but also the love of God so they can choose life!
