In a modest Rusyn village where most earn a living as log rafters, the men are preparing for yet another trip. The women find it hard to let them go, as if sensing what awaits them. Rafting down the river Tisza, they come across the body of Eszter Solymosi, and thus become ensnared in the infamous Tiszaeszlár trial. After Márianap (Maria’s Day) and her TV film on Ignác Martinovics, Judit Elek once again took up a historical subject; having examined the case notes, she decided to make a film about the notorious Tiszaeszlár show trial from the perspective of the loggers who were accused of corpse smuggling.
