L
ong before her passion for jewelry ignited, our founder Marie Helene Reinhold kick-started her career in the fabulous realm of fashion with a trendy little store named It Boutique. Located on Calle del Cristo, this hip clothing store was the go-to destination for the fashion-forward of the 1960s, particularly known for its paper dresses. Although the allure of jewelry eventually stole Marie Helene’s heart, Reinhold Jewelers has never forgotten its deep connection to the world of fashion and design. Yearning to celebrate the vibrant culture of Puerto Rico and its dazzling fashion scene, in this year’s holiday book we showcase “La Moda de Puerto Rico”. From its early days, Puerto Rico has been a hotbed of creativity and style, captivating the eye of enthusiasts worldwide. One of the island’s true visionaries, Antonio López, originally from Utuado, earned a legendary reputation as a kingmaker in the fashion industry with his ability to discover topnotch designers and models in the 1970s. In 1984, Antonio judged the Destellos de La Moda fashion show in San Juan, bringing his international spotlight to the island. Showcased at that time were Carlota Alfaro and Nono Maldonado, who continue to shine brightly even today. These esteemed figures have not only left an indelible mark but also serve as guiding lights for the newer generations, nurturing their creativity and shaping the future of Puerto Rican fashion.
Within these pages, we offer you a tantalizing glimpse into the vibrant tapestry of designers, both past and present, who have elevated the Puerto Rican fashion scene to unprecedented heights. Each of these gifted artists possesses a unique lens through which they weave their enchanting stories. Countless hours of passion and dedication are poured into their magnificent works of art. Together, they form a united front, representing the pride and the deep-rooted spirit that comes with being Puerto Rican. As you peruse the pages of this book, we invite you to immerse yourself in a world that celebrates the beauty of craftsmanship, the allure of fashion, and the indomitable spirit of Puerto Rico. From our Grupo Reinhold family to yours, we extend our deepest gratitude for your continued support and unwavering passion for all things extraordinary. Here’s to a holiday season filled with enchantment, joy, and a touch of Reinhold magic! From our family to yours,
Yael Reinhold

W
e couldn’t have achieved this holiday book without the incredible talents and unwavering efforts of the Grupo Reinhold team. First and foremost, a tremendous thank you to Xavier García, our photographer, who once again uses his camera to not just capture images but to weave a narrative that leaps off the page. Edder González Palacios, our graphic designer, dove headfirst into this project, armed with a zest for creativity and an impeccable eye. A big shoutout to Mildred Marcano and Rocío Rodríguez for their unwavering commitment and positivity— always adding a smile to the most stressful of days. And to María Cabrero whose ability to stay on the details keeps us all organized and on time. We would also like to recognize the legal knowledge and expertise of Lic. Antonio Hernández Almodóvar who worked behind the scenes but is equally invaluable to the project. And last, but certainly not least, we extend a heartfelt thank you to the incredible clothing and jewelry designers who have placed their trust in us year after year. You are the true visionaries, crafting exquisite pieces that capture the essence of beauty and ignite our imaginations. It is through our collaboration that the magic within this book unfolds. And it is our true honor to be your trusted partner.

Robert Keith (Hoorsenbuhs)- “Fashion has been more like background noise
throughout my journey. It’s always been there, but I’m just doing my own thing, with a community of people I trust and love. I’m into the things that catch my interest regardless of the origin. Obscure or random details seem to catch my attention the most. Craftsmanship and artistic quality really stand out no matter the era or reference. At the end of the day not everything is for everybody and we all have our own taste and individuality…hopefully.”

Michal Kadar - “My DNA, for decades, is that of a fashion designer, using fabric to flatter
and move with a woman’s body. Today, I uphold these principles, carefully deconstructing rigid 18k gold and diamonds to create luxurious, wearable art that evokes fluidity and softness. Coming from the world of fashion I’m always thinking in terms of collections or concepts. Each piece of mine is envisioned as part of a bigger story to tell, an entire look that encompasses how and where women will wear it. Obviously for me, fashion is more than a muse, it’s an integral part of my design process. It’s my true north.”

Jean Kee - “As a means of self-expression, the world of Fashion fueled my passion of working,
and thinking with my hands from start to finish. I learnt how to sew to make my own clothes, to solder to make my own jewelry. It became my way of celebrating the uniqueness of each individual human being, starting with myself.”

Sevan Bıçakçı - “As a designer, I perceive beauty everywhere. Style represents a unique expression of individuality and boldness. But for me, being well-dressed implicates discovering a harmony and showcasing our character, much like what I strive to achieve with the jewelry I craft. My aim is to have them mirror the essence of their wearers.”

Sylva Yepremian - “Fashion has always been a great source of inspiration when I design. Moods
in fashion are always reflected in my jewelry for example pink has been a color I’ve never incorporated in my pieces until recently! Suddenly pink seemed to be everywhere in fashion and I designed a full collection using pink gemstones.”

Roberto Coin - “My lifestyle is continually changing with the times, anticipating trends and
inventing my own fashion. My fashion is renewed by my desire to understand and to discover new trends. Fashion should represent freedom; freedom for the person who wears jewelry and freedom for the person who creates it...Fashion should enhance the personality of everybody; it is an art, but the art of being different and should increase the ability of today’s women to feel more comfortable in their own role.”

Valerie Messika - “I often get some of my inspirations from the latest trends in top fashion. I imagine my creations as ‘couture’ jewelry, as fashion accessories. I always keep an eye of what surrounds me and all the source of inspirations I can have access to. One of the strong values of the Maison is my love for fashion and as a result, I created my first Fashion Show two years ago by highlighting Haute Joaillerie. Today, this is an annual rendez-vous for Maison Messika.”

Nathalie Diamantis - “Jewelry design, fashion, art and culture have all been a constant source of inspiration, shaping my personal style and professional journey. The same inspiration is articulated at Pomellato where we believe that color is a powerful form of self-expression. Our vibrant gemstones and innovative designs allow each woman to showcase her unique personality through our fine jewelry.”

Temple St. Clair- “Fashion has been an endless wellspring of inspiration throughout my life
and career. It ignites my imagination, guiding me to design pieces that harmonize with the individual styles of all my collectors. Just like jewelry, my perspective on fashion encompasses a wide range, from treasured archival pieces once worn by my mother in the 80’s to the vibrant streetwear discoveries I stumble upon while strolling through the streets of New York City or Paris. Fashion and jewelry share the remarkable ability to evoke emotions, convey narratives, and empower individuals to express their true selves. Together, they embody my identity and reflect the diverse tapestry of who we all are.”

Jeff Feero - “Fashion, by definition means popular trends and Alex was not interested in that. If
anything, he created the trends. What he cared about instead was style. People still remember his Etro suit. A suit Alex bought early in his career because he understood how much personal style works as a form of communication.”
Herman Nadal
58

Stephen Webster - “I first saw David Bowie perform on TV in 1972. I was 13, mesmerised and
hooked. His one-piece playsuit, orange, spiky hair and makeup, I wasn’t sure if he was a boy or a girl, but didn’t care, I just wanted to be a bit like that. After much foraging I put together a similar outfit including women’s boots. Then off to the local barbers, for a ‘Bowie Cut.’ My barber did his best. From then on I became a dedicated follower of fashion. I enrolled at art school in the fashion department. Quickly realising fashion was not what I thought. While getting my ears pierced in the jewellery department, I loved what I saw, people making real treasures. I transferred and there was no turning back. I wanted the jewellery I made to work with peoples ‘personal style’. I‘m happy to say that 46 years there is now jewellery for everyone and every style. Increasingly driven by creativity and innovation, and not only valued by the parts.”

Loutfic Chakardemian - “Fashion allows me to translate my ideas and inspirations into
weareble art. I see jewelry as an integral part of the overall fashion landscape, as it has the power to enhance and complement an individual’s style and personality. It adds a unique touch and can be a statement piece that completes a look or tells a story.”
Stella Nolasco

Anita Ko - “My love of fashion has always been an obsession. Fashion is the way we express
ourselves and it’s our way to show the world who we are. When I design I stay true to that message. Growing up in Los Angeles I was lucky enough to be exposed to many walks of life and their attitudes towards self expression. All of that is reflected in my jewelry. It’s who I am. I’m someone who wants to wear luxury jewelry for everyday that’s cool and timeless at the same time — Jewelry that looks amazing with jeans and a sweater or with black tie. I always wear pieces that add that extra style that makes you ask ‘who is she’ and ‘My God… I want her necklace’.”
Harry Robles

Silvia Furmanovich - “Fashion has been my guiding light throughout life and a career in jew-
elry. It’s not just about trends; it’s a journey of self-expression. Embracing fashion has allowed me to discover my unique style, and through jewelry, I’ve found a way to translate my inner confidence into exquisite pieces that empower others to feel beautiful and self-assured in their own skin.”
Sonia Rivera

Jade Trau - “For me the inspiration in fashion has always and will always come from the timeless
parts of a wardrobe that fit so perfectly, are core to the daily wardrobe, and are the items that you will never ever give away. It’s the perfect pair of jeans, the white button down that’s tailored just the right way for your body, the blazer, the cashmere sweater you keep wearing even after it has holes in it...and the boots you get resoled 10 times. The nuances in the way pieces like those are made and how they wear on the body are what I’m always looking for and what I deeply admire.”

Martacarmela Sotelo - “Fashion is a signifier of self expression, I tend to express myself with unique pieces of clothes and jewelry that describe me. Erika Peña

Yves Spinelli & Dwyer Kilcollin - “Fashion is an individual’s expression in clothing and accessories. Others continuously inspire me; hopefully, I can contribute to the cycle.” “There is no better way to broadcast who I am as I move through space and time... no explanation or justification is required!”
Jean Cintrón

Roshni & Rahul Jhaveri - “Jewelry and fashion are the most personal expressions
of design and taste. They give context and influence one another. The lives and practices of certain fashion designers have had the biggest influence on us. Alexander McQueen is one such designer whose aesthetic sensibility extended beyond fashion. He embodied his work and created a world within which he thrived and pushed his distinct point of view. We exist in the same creative consciousness and constantly provide us with standards worth aspiring towards.”
Carlos Alberto

Carol Kauffmann - “Having worked for 15 years in the textile industry in Brazil specializing
in bathing suits, when I began working with jewelry, I was already attuned to mixing patterns and color, which transitioned perfectly into working with gold and gemstones. Fashion was my first design inspiration which now continues into my jewelry collection.”
Stella Nolasco

Inesita Capó & Äfet Burcu Salargil - “A platform for experimentation,
expression and unexpected bonds— that is what the art of fashion has afforded us. We’ve both been part of the fashion world in one way or another throughout our studies and careers. We’ve each approached fashion concepts differently throughout our friendship, bringing ideas together while always finding a common thread— only this time, our thread is made of gold.”
Stella Nolasco

Nigora Tokhtabayeva - ‘‘I’ve never been ever inspired by fashion but I’ve always been very
influenced by my grandmother’s love of style and jewelry in general, and the spiritual power of amulets in particular (this inspired my later research into the metaphysical protection role that jewelry has had throughout history). When I moved to the US with my family as a teenager, I discovered American modernist sculpture, in particular the work of Isamu Noguchi. Tabayer is a culmination of these two influences. My desire is to create jewelry that holds an intimate value that makes the wearer feel protected and at the same time looks modern and versatile.”

Harwell Godfrey - “Fashion has inspired me throughout my life as a tool for self expression.
There’s a give and take with fashion - you see what people are designing and wearing and then you figure out what applies to you and interpret it through your own lens. As a jewelry designer I am doing the same: putting collections out into the world that resonate with me, but are then worn in many different ways by my clients. It’s like a conversation.”
Miriam Budet

Brent Neale - “I’ve always loved fashion for the same reason I love jewelry. It has the ability to transform your mood or at least it does for me! I always think about fashion backwards - as in the jewelry is always the starting point and then I’ll search for the perfect piece to compliment it. Nothing can compete with jewelry now can it.”
Lisa Cappalli

David Farrugia - “Fashion icon Rick Owens has always been inspiring to me when designing
any product, whether it be jewelry or not. Additionally, Trent Reznor, of Nine Inch Nails, has a sense of style that emulates the attitude of the Uniform Object collector.”
Liz Isabelle

Melinda Zeman - “I have always been inspired by the way that fashion is constantly evolv-
ing yet still manages to come full circle. Fashion has always offered me a creative outlet to express who I am. It has given me a platform to experiment and convey my playful side. My fashion choices have definitely changed through the years and when I look back at photos taken decades ago, the clothes I wore are a sweet reminder of the person I was. Like jewelry, there is such a strong story to be told about an individual through their fashion choices whether from modern times tracing all the way back through history. From material choices to preferred colors, there is such a strong connection with jewelry and fashion as the two are irrevocably intertwined and my love for color in fashion continues to inspire my collections.”

Iris de La Villardière & Thomas Montier Leboucher - “Both growing
up in Paris, fashion has inspired us since a young age. Inextricably part of the French culture, we have been surrounded by amazing allure, from the elegant looks of our grand-mothers to the natural chic of our mothers, fashion has been part of the conversation always and has helped us shape a sense of style and design”
Lissa Porrata

Tara Maria Famiglietti - “Fashion has been a part of my life from the very beginning. Both
my mother and father were fashion designers, each owning their own shops and ateliers, one downtown and one on Madison Avenue in New York City. This unique experience made fashion a very part of my existence. So much so, that I have often designed jewelry with the intent of how a piece might hang or drape when worn and have used terms such as the “drape of fabric” to describe the ingenuity involved, or the “feel of silk” to conceive the concepts in my creations for ONDYN. I am so grateful to my early introduction to fashion.”

Graziela Kaufman- “Fashion for me is everywhere. It inspired me from getting dressed in the morning to creating all my collections. Fashion is in nature, in everyday life, in people, in art, in ideas. Fashion inspired me to be who I am and to never be afraid to innovate.”

Mollie Good & Stephanie Abramow- “I have always been inspired by fashion
and design. From a young age I studied art, sculpture, painting & drawing. I love fashion as it allows us to express ourselves and our individuality. Walters Faith embodies this - it is a collection that is constantly evolving - influenced by the classic but interested in the now.”
Sonia Santiago

106
Anne-Marie Le Flanchec - “Fashion is indeed inspiring as an endless creative expres-
sion of the human spirit and fascinating as a reflection of cultural trends. However the globalization of the luxury fashion industry with the domination of conglomerates, now dictate trends that are mostly ruled by business rather than artistic expression. The globalization of fashion tend to produce models in which both artists and consumers have to comply in order to fit a trend or fit a social standard. As a designer I would like to encourage more diversity of expression in fashion.”
Liz Isabelle

Bea Bongiasca - “I have always been very passionate about fashion because it allows you to visu-

igniting our passion as jewelry designers. It is a language of self-expression, a vibrant tapestry of colors, textures and styles that has shaped our artistic journey. science, nature, texture and color. Fashion predicts change and helps express individualism and community all in the same. Fashion is wearable art in the most exciting way. I’ve loved design and fashion from the moment I could speak. It is what inspires the joy in every piece I design. Fashion allows me to be free.”

to try new things, wear new colors and gives big freedom to express ourselves, but still to maintain our style. By travelling and visiting different countries and seeing new destinations, you realise that there is no limit to the imagination, and you can adapt your fashion style and feel happy with what you are wearing anywhere you go. Fashion is your mood!”

Jane Taylor-“It’s been a humongous influence. I was drawn to fashion at a young age growing up in
NYC and it segued into my love of jewelry very seamlessly because they are co-stars in how a person expresses themselves. I had family and very close family friends that worked in the fashion industry, and would read WWD back when it was a newspaper. It introduced me to texture and color play, and helped me define my voice as a designer.”

shop have deeply influenced my love for craftsmanship. Observing the meticulous process of selecting fabrics, transforming and perfecting the garments sparked an appreciation in me for the artistry. My grandmother has taught me to prioritize quality over quantity and the significance of investing in well-crafted, timeless pieces. These invaluable principles continue to shape my design philosophy, serving as the foundation for my creative work to this day.”

Dana Gordon - “My love for fashion and jewelry started at a very young age. My Nana
Bernice’s impeccable style and effortless elegance always inspired me. My earliest memories of falling in love with jewelry were trying on all her beautiful pieces at lunch and smiling from all the sparkle. At the age of 16, I began my own jewelry collection, with the very first piece being named in her honor. I recently relaunched an entirely new collection, bearing her name again. Her influence will forever inspire me, and I owe my love of fashion to her.”

Erica Molinari - “I have always been strongly inspired by the arts and specifically techniques in the fabrication of jewelry created by the old masters. I try very hard to learn and acquire the knowledge of these traditional techniques and incorporate this into creating collections such as our vitreous glass enamel collection.”

Jenna Blake - “Fashion has always been my stage for jewelry. Whenever I see a new style, trend
or concept on the rise, I automatically imagine what kind of jewelry I would pair with it. Often I love to go in the opposite direction of what the fashion is conjuring. What I mean is pairing something totally classic with something really trendy. I love finding the counterbalance between the two mediums. I see fashion as the stage that my jewelry gets to star on. While fashion may season out or become passé, great jewelry stays relevant for the next in vogue moment.”

Jemima Hargreaves - “Fashion has had a profound impact on my life and career as a
jewellery designer and maker. It has influenced my creative choices, refined my techniques, and inspired my passion for self-expression. Designer clothes have taught me about precision and quality, while patterned expressive pieces have guided my love for intricate designs. Glittery pieces have infused my personal style with confidence and joy. I draw inspiration from fashion’s diversity and openness to new ideas, creating jewellery that celebrates uniqueness.”

Nikki Erwin - “For me, fashion is a statement. It sets the tone of my day. It’s the physical representation of myself in my head and my heart in that moment.”
Elizabeth Potts - “I can’t say that fashion inspires me, personally. I tend to navigate through
life wearing what feels good, fits well, makes me smile. What does inspire me, however, is the people who wear fashion well. It’s like watching a different language in real motion, expressed through the body. It’s for these people that I design my jewelry. When I see someone who feels good in what they wear it’s akin to the feeling of a beautiful poem, a night lit with fireworks, walking the halls of an art gallery. Designing jewelry for this person is icing on the cake, for me.”
