Dudley Sixth students celebrated their A-level results last year with an overall pass rate of 99.8% and 100% pass rate in 31 of the 32

subjects studied. The percentage of students achieving higher grades increased again from the previous year with 89.4% of students achieving grades A-C and the percentage of students receiving A*/A increasing by almost 2% on the previous year.

BOA Stage & Screen Production provides an industry-led approach to developing the skills and experience of young people who are passionate about working in film, TV, online and theatre production.

The creative industries generate £108 billion a year and employ over 2.3 million people in the country. Despite this growth, the industry is facing significant challenges with almost half of creative employers reporting skills gap shortages.

Training For every one performer on stage or screen there are eight people working behind the scenes – making costumes; directing and producing shows; applying make-up, wigs, and special effects; creating sets and props; operating cameras; sound and lighting. And in many of these roles, there is a shortage of trained people.

This is where BOA Stage and Screen is ready to change this. The free academy is for post-16 students from Birmingham and across the region who are seeking top qualifications, up-todate practical training, and first-hand experience, which can propel the first steps to a career.

Ambitious law students Mackenzie and Erika were selected for a six-month mentorship and paid work experience with trail-blazing legal firm Browne Jacobson LLP. This prestigious opportunity afforded them insight into the dayto-day life of a lawyer and access to valuable future career contacts.

Law, Business and Psychology alumna Delal became a Goldman Sachs Scholar.
