“There have been goodmoments butitwould be good to just consistentlyplayand show people this is me,thisiswhatI cando.”

It is no exaggeration to sayCob den’s injury list wouldhavecur tailed most sporting careers. “That’sprobablythe closestI’ve come to calling it aday,” sheadmits.“To have twoACL injuries in arow wasreallyhard.

“Even though it hasbeenabit rubbish, gettinginjured, there are good things that have come outof it.WhenIlookatthe future, itdoes not make me as scared to notplay.

Capped 35 timesbyEngland, Cobden waspartofthe teamwhich famously defeated Australiatowin Commonwealth gold on theGold Coastfouryears agoand missing outonthissummer’s Gameswas, sheadmits, toughtotake.

Thehosts ultimately missed out on amedal this time around andthe series Down Under, whichstarts next Wednesday, offersthe chance to continue preparations fornext summer’s WorldCup,which takes placein SouthAfrica.
