ANNIE LENNOX

The MBCC Awards (Multicultural Business & Community Champion), now in their eighth year, celebrate excellence across communities, recognising those who work tirelessly to empower others. Iconic singer-songwriter and social campaigner Annie Lennox was recently honoured with the outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award for her unwavering dedication to changing lives. A tireless campaigner for human rights and social justice, Annie has been a pivotal figure in the fight against HIV and AIDS, as well as a champion for women’s rights worldwide.

Annie’s impactful initiatives include raising awareness of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa, advocating for compensation for victims of the Windrush scandal, and tackling violence against women through her SING foundation. Reflecting on her journey, Annie said: “It’s a desire to make a positive contribution to this world, that is sometimes so completely broken and so beautiful at the same time. There are millions and billions of us, good people that want to create bridges not gaps. We don’t want to fight each other. I’m just one of them.”
