Urban Mixed-Use Shopping Plaza

Butler Plaza is a 50-acre site located in Gainesville's main shopping and dining district. The site is heavily underdeveloped and most of the space is dedicated to parking

The proposal for this area was to transform it into a mixed-use urban center that promotes a healthy lifestyle for community members and residents in adjacent living complexes.

PLANTINGDESIGN

Transitions in style: Planting Design

With free range to create our own bed lines and hardscape layout, students were given the opportunity to hand render this one-acre site Focused on the philosophy studies of renowned landscape architects, we selected a Florida hardiness zone for the assortment of canopy trees shrubs, and ground covers.

OCALANATIONALFOREST

The goal of this project was to create a detailed planting plan for the Alex Springs Recreation Area that supported continued use of the facilities, while reducing the impacts from erosion and visitors wear on the ecology.

The client, U S Forest service, emphasized all vegetation included in the project be state native species, resulting in our work with the Florida Native Plant Horticulture Foundation.
