Once upon a time, there was a hippo called Billy who used to enjoy swimming in the river. He used to spend the whole day splashing and playing.
One day, while playing in the water, Billy saw something strange. At first, he couldn´t realize what it was but, as the strange thing approached more and more, he discovered a little rabbit on a .... boat?
No!! It was an umbrella!!
But wait... “now a
hedgehog is approaching”, said Billy the hippo.
“And his boat is also an umbrella. What is happening?”
So, Billy and the cats rescued the little white rabbit and the hedgehog.
It was time then to find out what was going on....
“We don´t like water”said the cats sitting next to the river side.
“But we can help you rescue them, if you like”
Polo the rabbit explained:
Peter the hedgehog and me were going
shopping. My mum needed some fruits and vegetables to prepare lunch.
Suddenly, it started to rain heavily in town so
Peter opened the umbrella he had in his bag.
I took the one I had in my bicycle´s basket and we continued our way to the market.
But the rain was so, so hard that the streets flooded and we found ourselves sailing, using our umbrellas as if they were boats. We sailed and sailed and then, you were there to rescue us!
Everybody was very happy.
“You are safe now. You must tell your mums” - said the stripped cat.
Tobby the bird will send a note to them.
Now it´s time to celebrate!! - all the animals shouted.
The birds were happy.
The hedgehog danced and danced because he was happy.
The cats smiled because they were happy.
The mice were happy too.
The elephant brought balloons to play. He was happy.
And of course, Billy the hippo was very, very happy. He had new friends now.
