Thanks to its intrinsic qualities and peculiar functions based on innovative, patented features, the OMEGAti ICU bed interacts directly with all the routine activities of intensive care units as a truly therapeutic tool.

Alla base del progetto che ha portato Malvestio alla creazione del sistema OMEGAti, che si pone come “punto di riferimento” nel panorama dei letti per terapia intensiva, c’è stata la volontà di realizzare un prodotto che non si limitasse solo ad una funzione di “accoglienza”.

Containment Contenimento

The four section high containment side rails, two on each side, are easily lowered and have a dampened descent: this system was designed to facilitate and expedite both routine and emergency nursing activities, and to avoid any hindrance to patient catheters, tubes and cannulas.

When the backrest is raised, the kneebreak/legrest side rail sections sync shift towards the head side (an innovative, patented movement) keeping the high level

of protection constant and granting the safe distance from the head/ backrest side rail sections (anticrushing safety).

The space available between the mattress platform and the top of the side rails accommodates most of the anti-decubitus air mattresses available on the market and still complies with the safety standards of the European norm CEI EN 606012-38 (“the height of the top edge of the side rail from the mattress platform should be ≥220 mm”).

Le sponde laterali ad alto contenimento si suddividono in quattro settori, due per lato, abbattibili verticalmente con un unico movimento ammortizzato: questo sistema è stato studiato per rendere più veloce ed agevole la movimentazione da parte del personale sanitario, sia durante le manovre di ordinaria gestione del paziente che in emergenza; inoltre non risulta di intralcio a cateteri, sonde o drenaggi del paziente.

La coppia settori della zona bacino/ femorale, durante la movimentazione dello schienale, sincro-trasla verso il lato testa (innovativo movimento

brevettato) e, lasciando invariato l’alto livello di protezione del paziente, mantiene sempre la distanza di sicurezza rispetto alla coppia settori della zona testa/busto (misura di sicurezza antischiacciamento).

L’altezza dal piano rete al bordo superiore delle sponde laterali permette l’utilizzo della maggior parte dei materassi antidecubito ad aria in commercio, pur mantenendo gli standard di sicurezza suggeriti dalle norme europee CEI EN 60601-2-38 (“l’altezza del bordo superiore della sponda laterale sopra il materasso deve essere ≥ a mm 220”).

The head-side and foot-side bedends can be quickly removed by pulling them up. Based on a patented system, the head side bed end was designed not only to be removed but also to be pulled down by rotating its two sections sideways until they are no longer a hindrance during resuscitation and intubation procedures.

The special design of the head side bed end, in its raised position, offers an ergonomically suitable grip when the bed is moved.

Sia la testiera che la pediera sono ad estrazione rapida verticale; grazie ad un sistema brevettato, la testiera, oltre ad essere asportabile, può essere abbattuta lateralmente, con un movimento a rotazione dei due elementi, non risultando piÚ di ingombro durante le manovre rianimatorie o l’intubazione. In posizione sollevata inoltre, grazie al particolare disegno, risulta ergonomicamente idonea come punto di presa per la movimentazione del letto.

The radio-transparency extending over the whole backrest and fixed section permits fluoroscopic tests and complex procedures such as the guided introduction of catheters. The structure on twocolumns and the total “clearance” in its central part allow C-arm diagnostic equipment to be used on either side.

Comfort and safety Confort e sicurezza For the safety of patient and operator, the OMEGAti bed system is equipped with a sound alarm that goes off when the bed is connected to the power net and the wheels are not braked.

Per la sicurezza del paziente e degli operatori, il sistema letto OMEGAti è dotato di un allarme acustico che si attiva quando il letto è collegato alla rete elettrica con le ruote non frenate.

A red LED on the operator control panel switches on when the bed is at minimum height with zeroed mattress platform sections. A courtesy nightlight is located under the base frame and can be switched on or off by pressing the dedicated button on the operator control panel.

(Bed without lateral tilt) Sulla pulsantiera operatore, è presente un led rosso che, se acceso, indica il posizionamento del letto ad altezza minima da terra con il piano rete allineato.

Sotto il basamento, con pulsante di accensione/spegnimento posto sulla pulsantiera, è posizionata una luce di cortesia notturna. (Versione senza basculamento)

Sack and/or accessory holder bars are located on both sides of the intermediate frame.

The OMEGAti system also features an integrated 18 cm bed lengthener to accommodate patients taller than 2 meters.

In caso di ricovero di pazienti con statura superiore ai 2 metri, il sistema letto OMEGAti dispone della possibilità integrata di allungare il piano rete di ulteriori 18 cm.

Built-in weighing system complying with 517/92 standards and granting an accuracy of max 50 g tolerance in patient weighing.

Controls and adjustments Comandi e movimenti The OMEGAti ICU bed is equipped with two push-button controls operating electric adjustments.

The operator control panel, (supervisor) located at the foot end of the bed, out of patient reach, operates the bed adjustments together with the pre-set configurations and the automatic safety inhibition system: when it remains unused for 30 seconds the control panel goes automatically into stand-by mode and is activated again by pressing the switch-ON button for 3 seconds.

The patient controls integrated in the side rails operate only the basic adjustments of the bed (backrest, kneebreak, and legrest section, backrest/kneebreak auto-contour, height adjustment) and all its functions, also single functions, can be inhibited by the specific controls on the operator control panel.

Ergonometric studies demonstrate that wired handsets prevent strain on the operators vertebral column, column as no bending is needed to operate the bed from any of its sides.

The angle indicator for the adjustment of the backrest section facilitates accurate therapeutic positioning.

During adjustments, the double translation of backrest and knee-break reduces the pressure on the patient plexus/pelvis areas enhancing breathing, prevents the patient from sliding towards the foot end of the bed minimizing patient repositioning operations and prevents pressure ulcers in the sacral region as a result of the changed pressure in the hip zone.

L’OMEGAti è dotato di due tipologie di pulsantiera per il controllo di tutte le movimentazioni elettriche.

La pulsantiera operatore, posta nel lato piedi del letto non raggiungibile dal paziente, oltre a comandare le singole movimentazioni, è completa di tasti per le configurazioni programmate e di un sistema automatico di inibizione di sicurezza: dopo 30 secondi di non utilizzo, la pulsantiera entra in stand-by, per tornare attiva alla pressione, per 3 secondi, del tasto di accensione. Le pulsantiere paziente sono integrate nelle sponde e controllano le movimentazioni più semplici del letto (sezione schienale, sezione femorale, sezione gambale, movimento sincronizzato schienale/ femorale, altezza variabile) e tutte le loro funzioni, anche singole, possono essere inibite da specifici comandi posti sulla pulsantiera operatore.

Da studi di ergonometria, è emerso che le pulsantiere a filo evitano dannosi sovraccarichi alla colonna vertebrale degli operatori; operatori che articoleranno il letto da qualsiasi punto senza dover piegare la schiena.

La movimentazione della sezione schienale, grazie all’indicatore di gradi d’inclinazione, rende precisi i posizionamenti terapeutici.

Inoltre la presenza della doppia traslazione della base della sezione schienale e della base della sezione femorale, evita la compressione dell’addome durante il sollevamento, lo scivolamento del paziente verso il basso, riducendo così i riposizionamenti, e previene l’insorgenza di lesioni da decubito in zona sacrale grazie al cambio del punto d’appoggio della zona bacino.

Cardiac chair and Therapeutic chair Poltrona Relax e poltrona Terapeutica By pressing the dedicated button on the operator control panel, the OMEGAti ICU bed adjusts to the cardiac chair position (as against the horizontal: backrest at 75°, backrest/kneebreak 92° and kneebreak/legrest 55°).

This “seated” posture helps operators prevent pulmonary complications, while providing patients with a more physiological position expediting their respiratory and motor recovery and has a positive psychological influence both on the patient and the relatives.

By pressing simultaneously two dedicated controls on the operator control panel, the cardiac chair position turns into a therapeutic chair position in which the backrest is raised up to 84° as against the horizontal (backrest/ kneebreak angle 90°, kneebreak/legrest 45°).

This position greatly enhances patient respiratory efficiency and facilitates patient access and egress.

L’OMEGAti, OMEGA con la pressione di un OMEGAti, solo pulsante posto sulla pulsantiera operatore, raggiunge agevolmente la posizione di poltrona relax o poltrona cardiologica (sezione schienale a 75° rispetto l’asse orizzontale, angolo fra sezione schienale e femorale di 92° e angolo fra sezione femorale e gambale di 55°). Questa postura “seduta” aiuta il personale sanitario a prevenire complicanze respiratorie, induce ad una posizione più fisiologica, accelera i tempi di recupero sia respiratorio che motorio ed influisce in maniera psicologicamente positiva sul paziente e sui suoi familiari.

Con la pressione contemporanea di due pulsanti, posti sulla pulsantiera operatore, si può passare dalla posizione di poltrona relax alla posizione di poltrona terapeutica caratterizzata dall’elevazione della sezione schienale sino ad 84° rispetto l’asse orizzontale (angolo fra sezione schienale e femorale di 90° e angolo fra sezione femorale e gambale di 45°). Questa posizione facilita la capacità respiratoria del paziente e rende di semplice attuazione la discesa e la risalita dal letto.

By lifting the pedal the bed goes automatically into the emergency Trendelenburg position.

Su entrambi i lati del letto è posto un pedale rosso utilizzabile per manovre di emergenza.

By pressing the pedal, the bed is brought to its minimum height and all mattress sections flatten down.

The hands-free foot-operated emergency release mechanism, allows operators to act quickly on the patient.

Premendo il pedale tutta la struttura raggiunge l’altezza minima da terra con l’azzeramento di tutte le sezioni.

Queste manovre sono ottenibili utilizzando solo un piede, permettendo così al personale sanitario di intervenire rapidamente sul paziente.
