The presence of a vibrant Development Sector is a boon to the nation. In any of its forms, organisations work for a social cause, either as non-profit CSOs or as a social business enterprise, to make the world a better place to live in. The Seminar will aim to deliver knowledge on the working of CSOs, including the compliances and reauired capacities at the organizational levels apart from discussing the opportunities available in the development sector. The significance of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the current scenario in CSR will also be highlighted. A few good practices amongst CSOs will be presented.

Mr. T S Jawahar has been serving the people for more than three decades. Simplicity, easy accessibility and his extraordinary field visits have made him close to the people of Tamil Nadu. He received the best District Collector award for his yeoman service after the Tsunami in Nagapattinam, and he was instrumental in the digitisation of all the records of millions of government employees and pensioners across the state. Nagapattinam, today can boast of many desilted channels and sincere gratitude to him for this tremendous work.
Mr. Swaran Singh has three decades of public service and had held significant portfolio in the Government of Tamil Nadu, including Corporation Commissioner of Trichy District, District Collector of Thoothukudi and Chairman of TNEB. He retired as Principal Secretary and Commissioner for Industries & Commerce for the Government of Tamil Nadu. Mr. Singh has been associated with TVS SST from 2017.
Mr. Nikhil Pant CEO, REACHA, Delhi Mr. Nikhil headed the learning & development team of National Foundation for corporate social responsibility, which in collaboration with the Ministry of Corporate A airs, GOI, played a key role in formulation of CSR legislation. Apart from this, Mr. Nikhil is the founder of LAKSHYAA and has been associated with REACHA for over 30 years in various capacities such as Founder Member, Member Secretary, Principal Consultant and currently CEO. The organization works tirelessly to provide a bridge between government and underprivileged communities, in order to maximise the impact of the government programs on the ground. He is also the former Chief Programme Executive of NFCSR and Honorary Adviser of CSR SPARK.
Mr. Aloysius Fernandez Padmashri awardee, Founder Chairperson of Sanghamithra, Member Secretary and Ex Executive Director of MYRADA, Bengaluru, Karnataka, Ex Chairman of NABFINS Mr. Aloysius Fernandez is an economist by training and a social worker by practice. As Executive Director of MYRADA, he managed to transform the space of financial inclusion in India through the concept of self-help group. Over the last seven decades, Mr. Fernandez has driven social development by helping people to build institutions for sustainable growth. He pioneered the SHG movement with NABARD and presently serves as Member Secretary of MYRADA.
Mr. Venkat Raman COO, India Foundation for Humanistic Development, Bengaluru, Karnataka Mr. Venkat Raman has more than 11 years of experience in diverse sectors of corporate and not-for-profit, where his domain areas of work are in Operations, Marketing, Financial Management and Programs. He has experience in nurturing social startups, business development, marketing and fundraising. During his tenure in IFHD, he has supported 38 FPCs across 17 states.

Mr. Rajkumar was associated with MYRADA for over 30 years and he was in charge of their integrated Rural Development Programmes focused on creating a sustainable livelihood for rural communities in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. He was the executive director of RDO Trust, Nilgiris for the last 5 years. In the role of development consultant, he now guides other organizations in the areas of capacity development, coaching, program evaluation, executive coaching and sustainable people centred development.
Dr. R Sujatha Consultant with the State Planning Commission, Government of Tamil Nadu Dr. R Sujatha has 30 years of Development Sector experience, consulting for Government, Corporates, NGOs and community-based organisations. She has a doctorate in economics with a special emphasis on women empowerment. She has been working as consultant with the State Planning Commission, Government of Tamil Nadu.
After 20 years of experience in IT industry, Mr. Chandrashekar switched tracks to focus on education for the underprivileged. He has been serving as the operations head of Agasthya international Foundation for over nine years now. The organisation, through innovative core programs, kindles the natural curiosity of children and helps to reduce dropout rates among rural kids.
Mr. R Krishnaswamy Founder and chief patron, CSR Spark, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu After three decades of experience in entrepreneurship and a further decade of volunteering with NGOs, Mr. Krishnaswamy now consults for corporates in various aspects of CSR such as formulation of policy, choice of projects, identification of implementing agencies, monitoring and reporting. He is the founder of CSR SPARK whose main objective is to enable better collaboration among the various stakeholders involved in the CSR environment. He is certified as a CSR Professional by Indian Institute of Corporate A airs, New Delhi, under Ministry of Corporate A airs.
