Mr L Ramkumar

PROFILE

Arun Shroff is a serial tech entrepreneur and business leader. He is the founder/CEO of Xtend.AI, a startup helping organizations globally to unlock the full potential of AI. Arun has served as a topic lead at the Focus Group on AI for Health - a joint initiative of WHO and ITU and collaborated on using AI for early detection of Diabetic Retinopathy in Senegal. He is also a co-founder of Medindia.net, a leading health website, visited by millions each month and FrontPoint Systems, a web solutions provider. He is an advisor to several startups and non-profits in USA and India. He has been an invited speaker at the AI for Good Summit in Geneva, ITU/WHO conferences, and Mr Arun Shroff

IEEE. Arun has a B.Tech from IIT Madras, an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, M.S. in Computer Science from Penn State University and certifications in AI/Machine Learning, Deep Learning and AI for Medicine.

PROFILE

Mr Ramkumar is an Independent Director on the Board of Shanthi Gears Limited, and Igarashi Motors India Ltd. He is also a member of the Board of Governors ,IIM Bodhgaya . He is a member of the Executive Committee of The Chennai Angels. He is a B.Com, AICWA and MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.

Mr Ramkumar during his career spanning a few decades has successfully led diverse businesses such as Bicycles in the B2 C space , Engineering and Automotive precision parts, Industrial transmission products like chains and belts, industrial gears and gear boxes , besides optical fibres and cables in the B2B space. He was the President & Director of Fenner India Ltd and CEO of Sterlite Optical Technologies before his long and successful stint of over ten years as the Managing Director of Tube Investments of India Ltd – a Rs 5000 crore turnover company part of the well known Murugappa Group.

Mr L Ramkumar

Mr Ramkumar has wide experience in drawing up long term strategies for growth that includes setting up of greenfield projects, technology tie ups, setting up joint ventures with overseas companies, mergers and acquisitions, and raising funds in India and overseas. He has built sustainable organisations that have Customer orientation and strong leadership pipeline.

As an outstanding Alumnus of Loyola College the Loyola Alumni Association conferred on him the Business Leader of the year Award for the year 2018 . His interests are cricket, classical music. , bridge and reading.

Mr Ramkumar was the President of the Madras Management Association for the year 2018-19.
