It gives me great pleasure to present to you the Annual Report for the year 2024–2025, a year marked by renewed energy, innovative programs, and sustained engagement with our growing community of professionals, entrepreneurs, students, and thought leaders.

MMA AGM & MAME 2024

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the MMA Awards for Managerial Excellence (MAME) were held on Friday, 5th July 2024, at the MMA Management Centre, with enthusiastic participation and appreciation from members.

Mr Josh Foulger, President, Zetwerk, delivered the Special Address, and Mr T V Narendran, CEO and Managing Director, Tata Steel, delivered the Valedictory Address The thought-provoking speeches by both speakers energized the audience with powerful insights on leadership, resilience, and India’s growth journey."

Mr T Kathir, Partner at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt Ltd, provided an overview of the award selection process for the 2024 MMA Awards for Managerial Excellence He emphasized the integrity and transparency with which the awards were adjudicated

It gives me immense pleasure to present the 69th Annual Report of the Madras Management Association (MMA) for the financial year ending 31st March 2025. As we turn

1. Managerial Excellence Recognised

The MMA Award for Managerial Excellence was conferred at the 68th Annual General Meeting on 5th July 2024. In consultation with Deloitte, the awards recognised TVS Motor Company, Sify Technologies Limited, Bimetal Bearings Limited, and Sri Sairam Engineering College for their exemplary contributions to management practices and innovation.

3. Women Managers’ Convention

MMA reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women in management through the Women Managers’ Convention on 15th March 2025. The event, inaugurated by Dr. Kanimozhi NVN Somu, Member of Parliament dasddsddsdddsa PerformanceHighlights: 2024–2025

(Rajya Sabha), and over 390 women professionals attended in person and with more than 8,800 online attendees. The theme “Empowering Change, Inspiring Leadership” resonated deeply with the participants, creating a vibrant space for dialogue, learning, and inspiration

4. All India Management Students Convention

The 23rd All India Management Students’ Convention, held on 22nd October 2024 at the IIT Research Park, welcomed over 1,200 students attended in person and 18,000 online attendees. Focused on “What Does it Take to Jumpstart a Successful Career?”, the event connected students with industry leaders, offering practical insights and career guidance.

CavinKare – MMA Chinnikrishnan Innovation Awards 2024

A landmark year for this prestigious award, the 2024 edition embraced a fully digital outreach strategy, amassing 65 lakh impressions and engaging over 40 lakh individuals through various social media platforms. The award ceremony at IIT Madras Research Park honoured three outstanding innovators, with Ms. Prabha Narasimhan, MD & CEO of Colgate Palmolive India Ltd, delivering a powerful keynote on innovation. The hybrid event was attended by 950 attendees in person and 6,500 online

One of our proudest accomplishments this year is the ISO 9001:2015 Certification awarded to MMA by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) The certification, achieved after SSDSD

rigorous audits, is a testament to MMA’s strong governance framework, systematic operations, and commitment to international quality standards I commend the MMA Secretariat for their diligence and professional excellence in securing this recognition

CSRandSkill DevelopmentInitiatives

Our CSR initiative, implemented in partnership with ACSYS Investments, As Trust, Super Auto Forge, and Flexco, delivered remarkable impact Skill development programs were extended to nine schools, benefiting 7,068 students and recording an impressive 98,052 impact hours. This initiative is not just a measure of numbers but a step towards nurturing talent and creating meaningful change in the lives of underprivileged students.

I express my heartfelt thanks to Mr. V. Shankar, Mr. S. Seetharaman, and Mr. Mukundan for their leadership and generosity in supporting this initiative. With continued donor engagement, this programme has the potential to transform the educational journey of thousands more.

MMA ANNUAL CONVENTION 2025

MMA’s theme-based Annual Convention is a high point in the calendar of management events in the country It has gained a reputation for high quality and excellence over the years has always been an event that the management fraternity looks forward to for its quality and content, creating an opportunity of learning, participation in meaningful discussions and thought provoking content.

MMA organized its flagship event – MMA Annual Convention 2025 on the Theme “Foundations for Building a Resilient India” on Wednesday, 12 February 2025 at Hotel Taj Coromandel, Chennai with over 750 delegates attended in person and around 28,150 viewers watched online through various MMA social media channels

The MMA Annual Convention 2025 focused on the various aspects, which are bound to propel India’s future, through a series of focused special sessions on five broad sub-themes as follows:

Special Session 1: Geopolitical Resilience: Preparing your businesses for geopolitical volatility

Special Session 2: Growth Resilience: Empowering MSMEs to be innovation engine of the future.

Special Session 4: Mental Resilience: Leadership in times of volatility

During the inaugural Session, Mr Brajendra Navnit, Principal Secretary to Government of TN Information Technology & Digital Services Department delivered the Keynote Address and Mr Vellayan Subbiah, Chairman, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Co Ltd & Executive Vice Chairman of Tube Investments of India Ltd, delivered the Inaugural Address during the Convention.

MMA’s another milestone initiative during the convention was the launch of MMA-ICT Academy collaboration and the exchange of MoU between Mr Mahalingam, President, MMA, Partner, TSM Group of Companies and Mr Josh Foulger, President, Electronics Zetwerk in the presence of Mr Lakshmi Narayanan, Founding Member, ICT Academy during the Inaugural session This initiative would enhance reach of MMA and its activities to a large number of Tech. Educational Institutions from all over India. Mr Josh Foulger, Member Board, ICT Academy & President Electronics Zetwerk shared his insights on the highlights of the joint endevaour between MMA and ICT Academy

Tha MMA Annual Convention was a standout event of the year, marked by an impressive lineup of speakers who delivered inspiring addresses The Convention garnered overwhelming satisfaction from both speakers and session chairman who recognized its immense scale and impact.

One of the Convention's highlights was the presentation of awards to the winners of the MMA Competition for young Managers Award Ceremony took place during the Inaugural Session, honoring the outstanding achievements of talented Managers.

The success of the Convention was greatly supported by McKinsey & Company, serving as the Knowledge Partner and The Hindu Business line as the media partner for the event. Their expertise and collaboration ensured the seamless execution of another remarkable convention

INDIA MANAGEMENT STUDENTS CONVENTION 2024

Management Students are the future managers of India on whom lies the responsibility of realising India’s dreams. During 2002, MMA launched its first Management Students Convention (MSC) on the theme “Transformation from Managers to Leaders”. The MSC provides an opportunity to the students to learn from Corporate gurus and at the same time provides them a platform to showcase their managerial acumen through Paper Presentations, Business Proposals, the Big Debate on a chosen topic apart from Management Quiz

Thanks to the Convention Committee headed by Mr S V Nathan, CEO & Co-Founder, Visara Human Capital Consulting Pvt Ltd our knowledge partner for ably organizing the 23rd MMA All India Management Students Convention. A galaxy of speakers shared their insights on the theme The Convention was a grand success and attended by over 1100 delegates in person at IIT Research Park Auditorium and over 27950 viewers watched through various social media portals

MMA CHANAKYA – THE MASTERMIND

Best All India Management Student of the Year 2024

MMA’s “Chanakya - The Mastermind” Award was instituted in the year 2010 It was one of the most significant events of the 23 MMA All India Management Students’ Convention 2024The award is presented after a contest held to determine the Best Potential Manager of the year. The process is rigorous but rewarding, as it aims to bring out the best in management students MMA received over 5500 entries for this year’s Competition from all over India The applicants were screened based on (a) their past academic performance, (b) significant achievements, (c) competitions won, and awards obtained, and (d) an essay on the subject “Why am I the Best Manager?” From this large pool of applicants, the list was narrowed down to 45,of which 12 contestants were from outside Tamil Nadu. rd

The short-listed 45 contestants underwent three rigorous rounds of evaluation during the PreFinals of the Competition The three rounds included: (1) Psychometric Tests to evaluate their thinking and problem-solving skills, (2) Group Discussions to assess their ability to handle pressure situations and teamwork skills, and (3) “Just-a-Minute” extempore competition to judge their speed of response and ability to think on their feet At a fitting Grand Finale, the chosen TEN finalists participated in the final two rounds amidst an audience of 1,200 during the Management Students Convention held on 22 October 2024 nd

Our activities included training sessions, corporate programs, flagship events, and Chapter activities

MMA collaborated with numerous organizations and corporates to deliver these events. Throughout the year, over 5,00,000 participants attended our events, making them a resounding success

The MMA Centre for Management Development (CMD) organizes short-duration Management Development Programs (MDPs) aimed at disseminating and enhancing management skills among working executives at all levels These MDPs, which typically span one to two days, take the form of workshops, seminars, conclaves, lectures, corporate training programs, and management video programs, among others. They have consistently remained popular, with an average of 50-60 programs conducted per month

The programs cover a wide range of subjects, and the faculty is selected from a panel of qualified and experienced professionals, eminent personalities and academicians Feedback from participants is regularly obtained for each program, and over 95% of participants have consistently rated the programs as excellent, with the remaining rating them as very good or good.

The MMA Awards for Managerial Excellence" were established by the MMA (Management Association) in 2002 to recognize and reward outstanding managerial thinking, action, and measurable results in various sectors These awards encompass four categories: Manufacturing, Services, SMEs (Small, and Medium Enterprises), and education.

The MMA-Amalgamations Business Leadership Award was instituted in 1969 by the late Mr. A Sivasailam in memory of his father the late S Anantharamakrishnan, Founder of the Amalgamations Group The award is presented to an Indian business leader, adjudged as outstanding by a panel of eminent jurors forming the selection committee.

The MMA presents the MMA Awards to recognize the first rank holders in MBA from Anna University and the University of Madras. Competition for Young Managers th

Since 1996, MMA has been organizing the MMA Competition for Young Managers This competition provides opportunities to young managers to demonstrate their knowledge, experience, professional excellence and creativity in the larger interest of the management community

The Competition is held every year as a run up to the MMA Annual Convention on the same theme as the Convention and is restricted to Managers below 40 years of age

This year’s Competition on the theme “Foundations for Building A Resilient India” was conducted on 7 February 2025. The competition was won by the team from Tata Consultancy Services led by Ms Sri Kalaivani Pannerselvam and Ms Rajalakshmi Ramanathan.

24 MMA Outstanding Woman Manager of the Year Award 2025

The MMA Competition for the Outstanding Woman Manager of the Year Award is a part of MMA’s effort to help the Women Managers improve their professional excellence The Competition is held every year since 2002 as a run up to the Women Managers’ Convention organised on the occasion of International Women’s Day

The theme of this year’s competition was “Empowering Change, Inspriring Leadership” The Oral Presentation was held on 12 March 2025 to select the Winner of the MMA Outstanding Woman Manager of the Year Award 2025.

Ms Sindhujah R, Tata Consultancy Services was chosen as “Outstanding Woman Manager of the Year 2025 award which included a cash prize, a trophy and a Certificate

The Award for Best Written Paper was presented to Ms Iswarya Veerappan of Tata Consultancy Services, while the Award for Best Oral Presentation was conferred upon Ms Kavviya C. V. of TAFE.

13th CavinKare-MMA Chinnikrishnan Innovation Awards 2024

Winners of 13th CavinKare-MMA ChinniKrishnan Innovation Awards 2024 held on Saturday, 14th September 2024. The Chief Guest Ms Prabha Narasimhan, Managing Director & CEO of Colgate Palmolive India Ltd presented the Awards.

Award of ISO 9001:2015 Certification to MMA by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)

Madras Management Association (MMA) has been awarded the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 Certification in Quality Process Management by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)

This recognition comes as a result of MMA successfully completing both the preliminary and final audits conducted by BIS, reaffirming our unwavering commitment to excellence in process management, governance, and service delivery

The audit team commended MMA for its high standards of documentation and process discipline, which were key factors in the successful certification.

In support of sustainability, MMA has adopted solar power with net metering, contributing meaningfully to our green energy initiatives

FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE

MMA’s Financial Performance for the year 2024-25 has been positive Considering the current environment. Revenue generation has shown an upward trend resulting in significant additions to the General Fund This growth can be attributed to increased income from subcriptions, improved surplus at conventions with support from sponsors, higher revenue from trainging programs, and cost reduction measures The surplus generated is being reinvested in infrastructure improvement and enhancing the quality of MMA’s offerings to its
