A knowledge sharing seminar is being organized by the Income Tax department in association with Madras Management Association (MMA). It is in sync with the tax administration’s commitment to promote tax payer’s confidence. To ensure tax payer’s compliance with the regulation, the Income Tax department’s efficient and effective performance is therefore crucial. This objective is best achieved when citizens and corporates voluntarily comply with the taxation laws, with minimum intervention from the Department.

Technology and Artificial intelligence have substantially changed our lives; the Income Tax department is no exception. In this context, the Income Tax department has launched a new utility with many features. This utility will ensure better tax compliance, reduction in tax evasion/avoidance, and cordial interface with the public. This is very major initiative of the department and many stakeholders have jointly worked on this project.

The Income Tax department in association with MMA is organising an interactive seminar (Hybrid) on the theme “The Changing Environment of Tax Administration.” It will be attended by the Commissioners of Income Tax on 1st November 2021 between 10.00 am and 01.25 pm followed by lunch at MMA Management Centre, Chennai.

This unique program will be inaugurated by Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (TDS), Chennai Shri R Ravichandran, IRS and followed by Panel Discussion on the Features of the New Utility and the unresolved issues in the functioning of the Utility etc., The panellists will consist of Senior Officials of the Income Tax Department, Past President of ICAI and Stakeholders.

The Panel Discussion will focus on the following areas: Features of New Utility TDS Compliance Regulating Foreign Remittances Registration of Not for Profit Entities Information captured in 26AS and its impact.
