With deep sorrow and enduring love, we celebrate the life of Daiquan Jamaine Braxton, who departed this life on July 7, 2025, at the age of 22. Born on November 20, 2002, Daiquan was a vibrant, kind-hearted young man who le an indelible mark on everyone he met.

Daiquan was known for his infectious smile, outgoing spirit, and deep love for family. He graduated from Page High School, where he was admired by classmates and teachers alike. He had a wide range of interests and passions— shing, cooking, music, fashion, and working outdoors, especially landscaping. He had a special love for snacks and laughter, and he never met a stranger. Daiquan made friends easily and was a true “people watcher”always observing the world around him with curiosity and joy.

A young man of dreams and purpose, Daiquan aspired to be a mentor to younger Black boys believing that his own life experiences could help guide others. He was thoughtful, full of potential, and grounded in love.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

Parents: Shamaine L. Bright- ompson and Francis Leroy Braxton III

Stepfather: Prophet David A. ompson

Children: Kyah Campbell, Kalani K. Braxton, Karter K. Braxton, and stepson Kymarion Brown

Siblings: Breanna L. Washington, Jakyra J. Braxton, and Kiyah LéJae Braxton

Special Friend/Partner: Dameyette Wright

Nieces and Nephew: Mckenzy Marion and Jakari Marion

Grandparents: Doris Cruz, Evelyn Scott, Francis Leroy Braxton Jr., and the late Isaac L. Bright

Aunts and Uncles: LeTanya Clerveaux (Jethro), Socorro Cruz, and Zacary & Hyderia Mapp

And a host of loving great-aunts and great-uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Daiquan’s life was a light that burned brightly—brief, yet beautiful. His laughter, loyalty, and love will live on in all who knew him.

With heavy hearts and a restless mind, you were our easiest hello and our hardest goodbye. Your laugh, your smile and your constant jokes, always brought us up when we were feeling low. An amazing brother you were to us, someone we knew that we could trust. We were never prepared for your life to end, for your journey was only starting to begin. We are thankful for your demeanor and your unpredictable words. We are thankful for how you loved us and accepted us as sisters. So take your time and take your rest. We hope you know you were the best. A void that can never be filled and a bond that can never be recreated.

Our brother, a son, a father and a friend. See you later for now because we’ll meet again.

The family of Daiquan Jamaine Braxton wishes to express our deepest gratitude for the many acts of kindness, expressions of love, prayers, and support shown to us during this time of loss. Your calls, visits, cards, and comforting words have been a source of strength and peace. We are especially grateful for the presence of each of you here today. Your love reminds us that Daiquan’s life touched many hearts and will never be forgotten.

May God bless you and keep you, The Family.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
