Reverend Michael Peynado Westbury Divine Church of God

For over 39 years, Reverend Michael Peynado serves as the senior Pastor of the Westbury Divine Church of God in Long Island, New York. Prior to devoting his time to full-time pastoral ministry, he was a businessman. He owned and operated Mike’s Tailoring Alteration and Ready-to-Wear, located on Post Avenue in Westbury, N.Y. He later closed the business and went into real estate as a salesperson. However, that would last only for a short time, as the Church continued to grow; the ministry became more demanding. After diligently seeking the Lord for divine direction and guidance; in 1989 Reverend Peynado went into full-time pastoral service.

In addition, Reverend Peynado served as Vice President for the Eastern New York General Assembly of the Church of God for 15 years; Treasurer and Vice President for the Westbury Improvement Corporation for 4 years, Reverend Peynado currently serves as Vice President for Unified New Castle for the past 10 years, where former Secretary of State, Mrs. Hillary Clinton, among other dignitaries, came and commended the organization for the great improvements they were undertaking in developing the community.

Among his many academic achievements, he received a Certificate award in Christian Education from Ebenezer Bible Institute, Birmingham, England. He attended Nassau Community College where he majored in English and Psychology (incpt); he also earned Ministerial Diploma from Christian Bible Institute, New York Campus, and a Bachelor of Theology from Southern California School of Ministry, New York Campus, and later earned a Master’s Degree in Religious Education from Trinity Theological Seminary in Anderson, Indiana. In addition, he is a certified New York State Chaplain. He is now nearing completion of being a Board Certified Biblical Counselor.

Under Reverend Peynado’s leadership we have built a New Church edifice on 1.9 acres of land where he has been pastoring for 39 years. Reverend Peynado is portrayed as a godly man of impeccable character. He is highly motivated and has a passion for the work of the Lord. He has a genuine love for people. He stands tall as a man of honesty, integrity, and one who loves life and enjoys it with his family in an ingenious way.

Reverend Jimmy O. Terry T.R.U.S.T. Ministries

Pastor Jimmy O. Terry is a man of great faith with a dedication to prepare others to lead and serve. A New York native and a “son” of the Church of God, his late parents, Deacon Charles Terry and Sis. Rebecca Viola (Davis) Terry taught him the value of hard work and sacrificial service to others.

Upon graduating from Anderson University (BSW), he accepted the call to ministry and has held various leadership positions within the National Association of the Church of God (NACOG) (West Middlesex, Pennsylvania) and the Eastern New York General Assembly (ENYGA). In 2012, he received his ordination from Church of God Ministries (Anderson, IN).

Pastor Jimmy served as the Youth Pastor at First Church of God in Columbus, Ohio (Bishop Timothy J. Clarke, Senior Pastor) from 2004-2013. Since returning to New York in 2013, he has filled various pulpits throughout the Eastern New York General Assembly churches as well as other denominations, and served as interim pastor at Evangelical Church of God in Bronx, NY and senior pastor at Prophetic Church of God in Harlem, NY. Pastor Jimmy and his wife of 16 years, Lady Joyce, met at the NACOG youth camp and are featured in the 100th Anniversary commemorative book, Sweethearts of Zion’s Hill. Together, they minister in various capacities ranging from praise and worship, national and international mission trips, children and youth ministries, to developing educational resources for churches and faith-based organizations. Pastor Jimmy is the founder of T.R.U.S.T. Ministries (Training Righteous Uncompromising Soldiers Together) a para-church ministry that resources churches by providing leadership development and ministerial training through specialty courses, workshops, and conferences.

Reverend Dr. Don Bethany New Testament Church of God

Pastor Bethany’s spiritual journey began in 1961 when he started attending the First Church of God in Toledo where Reverend Robert Culp was the pastor.

He accepted Jesus Christ at the age 13 years old. As an active member, over the years he served as an usher, Sunday School teacher, youth director and evangelism outreach team member. He accepted the call to the ministry in 1972.

He graduated from Anderson University in 1980 with a degree in Religious Studies. He returned back to Toledo in 1982 to become the Minister of Evangelism and Outreach. His first pastorate was at the McKee Street Church of God in Ft. Wayne, IN in 1984. He became the pastor of the New Testament Church of God in Brooklyn, NY in September 1991where he has served for 25 years. He became a Chaplain for the New York State Chaplain Task Force in 2014.

With a burden for young people, Don has served as a Youth Pastor at the First Church of God in Toledo, North New Jersey Street Church of God in Indianapolis, IN, and at the Sherman Street Church of God in Anderson, IN. He has been committed to the National Association Camp Middlesex serving for 47 years as a Counselor, Camp Director and Business Manager. He has been a mentor and spiritual advisor throughout his ministry. He has provided counseling, encouragement and support for many young men and women who have become pastors, ministers, Christian educators, and leaders in their local congregations.

Don has been married to Colee (Stinson) for 42 years. They have been blest with six children: Quinton (Naudia), Qeston (Andrea), Qionna (Craig); four beloved grandchildren; Daniel, Jayden, Aleah and Jason. Throughout his years of ministry, he has had a passion for evangelism, outreach, and to win souls for the Lord. His favorite scripture is Matthew 6:33. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Reverend Dr. Arthur W. Davenport First Church of God Reverend Dr. Arthur W. Davenport is the senior pastor and spiritual leader of the First Church of God in Far Rockaway, N.Y. for the past 40 years. He served under Dr. James E. Cray for 15 years before Dr. Cray retired in 1977.

Under Pastor Davenport’s leadership, the church broadened its ministries to emphasize the social concerns of mankind, guiding members to affirm the model of ministry embraced by Jesus in Luke 4:1 & and the early church model in Acts 2:42-47. First Church of God is determined to minister to the total needs of people in our community and to have significant spiritual and numerical growth among its members.

Pastor Davenport believes in a “Holistic” approach to ministry through the Cell Church and the Intentional Disciple-making concepts. He has challenged his congregation to use their gifts and talents not only in the Church but also especially in the community. He also teaches his members that each one of them has a responsibility to God and their fellow being, to touch people where they hurt.

Pastor Davenport served for 8 years 8 as a member of the Church of God Ministries and is now serving on the Credential Assessment Committee. He currently serves on other church and community boards and committees: Faith In New York (over 60 congregations), Rockaway Inwood Ministerial Coalition, Eastern New York Ministers Assembly’ Credential Committee, NYC Mayor’s Hurricane Sandy Recovery Task Force, and Councilman Richards’ The Downtown Far Rockaway Revitalization Working Group. He is a former president of ENYGA, Rockaway Inwood Ministerial Coalition, and Chairperson of the Shelton R. Weaver Day Care Center. He served for many years, as board member of Here’s Life New York and the Concerts of Prayer Greater New York. He recently became a chaplain under the New York State Chaplaincy Task Force.

Pastor Davenport’s mission in life is to help develop the “Whole Person” by ministering to their Spiritual, Physical and Emotional needs. His vision is to develop Pastors, Ministers, and Lay-Leaders who are able to make a difference by practicing a holistic approach to minister to people in need. He is married to Reverend Norma Gean Bethea Davenport, whom he affectionately calls his “Beloved”. They have five children, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He enjoys excellent health. He takes long walks, plays golf, bowls and exercises regularly.

Reverend Clifton McDowell Church of God of East New York

Reverend Clifton McDowell is the senior Pastor of The Church of God Of East New York, a thriving congregation located in the heart of Brooklyn N.Y. where he has served since 1981. In addition to serving the congregation and community through his pastoral ministry he has served as the Chairperson of the Credential Committee of the Eastern New York Ministerial Assembly. On a National level, he is the Vice Presiding Elder of the National Association of the Church of God,

former chairperson of the Leadership Development Board of the National Association of the Church of God. Outside of the Church of God he serves as a Ministry Partner of the Navigators Church Discipleship Ministry and is a founding Member of the World Vision Church Alliance initiative in New York. A former V.P. & Finance Division manager with the investment banking firm of Salomon Smith Barney (currently Citigroup) where he was employed for 24 years.

Reverend McDowell has a BA degree in Organization Management with an emphasis in Economics and Accounting from Nyack College and a Master’s Degree from The Alliance Theological Seminary. He is a noted speaker and teacher and has ministered as far as England, East Africa and Grand Cayman as well throughout the United States.

He has had many great mentors and examples over the years that have helped him to develop into the person he is today. A godly man, deeply commitment to Jesus Christ, his wife, family and to servant leadership. He strives to be a role model to inspire and challenge leaders towards integrity and excellence in whatever they do. He and his wife Deborah are the parents of four beautiful children, Felicia (Dorsey), Nicole (Karl), Leah (Brandon) and Clifton Jr., three grandchildren, Darien, Destiny, and Kharlie. Together they share a passion for equipping leaders, couples and families to reach their full potential towards God’s purposes for their lives. June 14, 2017 he and his lovely wife will celebrate 37 years of being gratefully and happily married.

Reverend Kevin R. Osbourne Refuge Church of God Reverend Kevin R. Osbourne was born in Brooklyn, New York to Deaconess Geraldine A. Osbourne and the late Percy G. Osbourne. He gave his heart to the Lord on June 21, 1984 at the age of twelve under the leadership of his pastor, the late Reverend Dr. Evans Bromley Marshall at the Lafayette Avenue Church of God. He accepted the call to ministry on January 20, 1996 and began his journey armed with enthusiasm and determination.

This tenacious warrior has set out to fulfill his God ordained purpose and destiny in the earth. He is an anointed and unique gift to the body of Christ who has been commissioned to proclaim the liberating, life-changing Word of God to this generation. Reverend Osbourne’s unique presentation of the gospel enables him to minister across gender, generational and ethnic lines. Pastor “Kev”, as he is affectionately known, received his early education at the Epiphany Lutheran School and James Madison High School. He is a graduate of the Bernard M. Baruch College with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and minor in Business Journalism. He is also a graduate of the Southern California School of Ministry with a Bachelors of Theology Degree.

On September 12, 1998 Reverend Osbourne married the beautiful Minister Tatum M. (Boyce) Osbourne. He served as the Second Vice President for the Eastern New York General Assembly of the Church of God. Pastor Osbourne is honored to serve the Body of Christ nationally as the President for the National Inspirational Youth Convention under the auspices of the National Association of the Church. Reverend Osbourne assumed the pastorate of the Refuge Church of God on January 1, 2007.

Reverend Dr. Jefferson Bannister Grace Church of God Jefferson acquired the foundation of his faith in Barbados. With three siblings they grew up with mom and dad who served as Superintendent of 22 Churches of God for 25 consecutive years.

Jeff first worked and excelled as a professional teacher for nine years, graduating from Erdiston Teachers’ College and University of the West Indies. He was also school athletic and soccer coach; a community leader of scouts, a youth group, and summer camp that he pioneered with others.

He is happily married to Cynthia Boyce for 38 ½ years; cherishes their two children, Carlos (Stephany) and Marsha (Matthew); and their four grands.

Upon emigrating to the US, Jeff worked in New York for Verizon for 19 years where he won many company awards, while marketing data and voice communication services to Fortune 500 companies.

Jeff built on his education at the City University of New York obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Accounting “summa cum laude” (1984); a Master of Professional Studies in Ministry from NY Theological Seminary (1993), a Master of Science in Education - Counseling from Long Island University (1998); and a Doctor of Ministry from Drew University (2015).

His faith journey resumed at Refuge COG in 1980 where he served for nine years as leader of youth, Christian Education and midweek services. He then pioneered Bethel COG for nine years before merging with Brownsville COG in 1998 to form Grace COG where he presently pastors for 18, going on 19 years.

Pastor Jeff is a visionary leader whose strengths in ministry are in pastoring, teaching, faith, and counseling.

His mission is to disciple into spiritual maturity persons whom you least expect to excel, so as to impact present and future generations. He has done mission trips to Trinidad and Tobago; St. Vincent, Barbados, and Guyana.

While pastoring, he presided over the Eastern New York Ministerial and General Assemblies for nine years. He served for many years as Dean of NY Christian Bible Institute and as a member of the Credential and Program Teams. He also led the Eastern States Ministers Retreat (ESMR) providing holistic health to pastors, ministers and spouses of Churches of God on the East Coast – Virginia to Maine. He also served the Church of God Anderson, Indiana on the Business Leadership Resource Committee of the General Assembly and as a coach trainer of S.H.A.P.E. (Sustaining Health & Pastoral Excellence).

Pastor Jeff is currently a partner with the Navigators, coaching ministers and leaders in Anderson’s Leadership Focus.
