Congregational Partner Grant Program The Congregational Partner Grant Program (CPGP) is a powerful partnership between MLC and WELS congregations that makes ministry preparation more affordable for MLC students.

Congregations give a grant. MLC matches the grant. It’s that simple!

Congregations designate grants toward the tuition accounts of their students who have been admitted to MLC. MLC matches grants for each student— up to the annual maximum match amount.

CPGP is an effective tool in decreasing student debt. In 2025-2026, we disbursed about $1.9 million to our students through CPGP, and in 2026-2027, we’ll be disbursing even more!
