WELCOME Welcome to New Ulm and Martin Luther College, your WELS College of Ministry.

While New Ulm has been the host city for this tournament many times, this is the first time MLC has hosted it and we consider it a privilege.

MLC is owned and operated by the WELS for the sole purpose of educating young men and women for the public ministry. It offers five ways to enter that ministry, they are pastoral ministry, early childhood education, elementary education, secondary education, and staff ministry. We hope to see many of the participants of this tournament as students on this campus one day.

We hope this tournament will be a joyful experience for players, coaches, cheerleaders, parents and friends. While we may have different loyalties to different schools and teams, we are one in Christ as children of God. In that spirit may we enjoy not only the games but also our kinship with one another.

From the Director We wish each team success and hope that all attending these tournament games will enjoy their time on the campus of Martin Luther College.

As changes have been made in the educational system of the Wisconsin Synod, changes are also being made in these tournaments; some will be appreciated, others not. The things altered that do not appear in the best interest of all concerned will be re-evaluated by the Martin Luther College Administration. If changes are deemed necessary they will be implemented.

Any changes in the tournament made this year or in the future will be greatly influenced by the needs of the students at Martin Luther College.

With the increased number of students on campus, more extensive use of the gym is required. Therefore, this is somewhat limiting the use of the facilities for outside activities.

The MLC Forum Society is proud to present its first winter play “The Curious Savage" on Friday and Saturday February 23rd and 24th at 7:30, and Sunday the 25th at 2:00.

A comedy set in the 1950’s, the show tells the story of a wealthy widow, Mrs. Savage, whose two sons and daughter scheme to get her recently inherited ten million dollars. Donating much of the family fortune to ridiculous charities, her children pronounce Mrs. Savage insane and place her the private rest home where the play is set in hopes of acquiring the money. There she meets, among other interesting personalities, a woman convinced a doll is her five year old son. The children, discovering the money has disappeared, are sent by Mrs. Savage on a wild goose chase to places where she suggests she might have hid the cash, now converted into half million dollar bonds. The plot ensues revealing the curious nature of the inhabitants and ends up with a frantic showdown between Mrs. Savage and her offspring.

Admission is $3.00 and tickets can be purchased at the door. Children under 12 are free. Bring the whole family to this hilarious production and find out who the crazy ones really are.
