Prayer Leader: 0 Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth. When we consider the heavens. the work of your fingers, and this bountiful earth you wondrously fashioned, who are we that you are mindful of us and that you care for us!

People: You have made us the crown of your creation. You have lavished us with glory and honor.

Leader: Thanks be to you, Lord Jesus, Lamb of God, because with your blood you made us a holy priesthood, that we might offer grateful works of service to you.

People: Thanks be to you, 0 Lord, for sending the Holy Spirit to keep your little flock safe from the assaults of the evil one.

Leader: Triune God, by your Word preserve the assembled graduates in their most holy faith. Assure them with that same Word, not to be terrified or discouraged, but to be strong and courageous as they face difficult times. Remind them that their redemption is surely drawing near.

People: Keep us all steadfast in your Word. Preserve us in your blessed gifts of faith, hope, and Jove.

Leader: On this festival day and at the close of this school year, the birthyear of Martin Luther College, we are especially grateful that you have again raised up a company of young men and women dedicated to prepare themselves for the Christian ministry. Bless those who are now ready to enter full time ministry in the Church. May they by both word and deed teach and tell the good news of salvation at whatever place and to whatever kind of service it pleases you to call them. Be with those who will continue their preparation for the pastoral ministry. Bless their further studies and grant them health and strength to complete their work at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary.

We thank you for the teachers at this college who know that the high trust given them requires above all else that they be faithful. We thank you for the services of the entire college staff whose various talents work together for the benefit of the entire school. And we thank you for the thousands of benefactors of this college-parents, students, and friends-without whose interest, gifts, and prayers this school could not do its work.
