Abstract Living with Healing is an approach to improving the mental health of residents through a landscape method. According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, the mental disorder was expected to become the second most common disease of the non-fatal disease in Australia. Different forms of mental health disorders are chronic diseases of unknown etiology, which usually progress slowly, and in severe cases can lead to physical health, even disability, and paralysis.

The study found that the City of Port Phillip has a high number of residents with mental health problems. The environment cannot give strong spiritual supports to people who have a stressful life and mental illness. Therefore, the project is to establish a healthy public green space, residential and commercial infrastructure area through a three-step plan, including early intervention, treatment, and continuing care.

The goal of the project is to analyze how to integrate landscape rehabilitation activities into the daily life of potential and actual mental patients through the intervention of landscape strategy, so as to relieve people's psychological pressure and help them achieve self-emotional regulation and balance. This study could be used as a pilot area, for the rest of Melbourne, to achieve a win-win situation for people's mental health and the promotion of good urban development.

Alfred Hospital is a famous public hospital in Melbourne City, which is only a road away from the city of Port Phillip.

Most residents will choose to seek medical treatment here.

However, with the development of history, the tall buildings in the hospital occupied most of the open space, and the only remaining green space was scattered in front of and behind each building. How to rationally utilize the limited outdoor space to provide patients with more outdoor activities can assist the medical process and accelerate the recovery rate.

The expansion of residential and commercial land has taken over some of the green space and widened the main road from two carriageways to four lanes now. In order to retain the original trees, the pedestrian path occupied will cause visual interference to the citizens suffering from mental illness. Therefore, in view of the three stages mentioned above (early intervention, middle treatment and continuing care), consider the factors that affect the mental health of citizens during their daily travel, avoid them in time, and rationally use the limited space to create a comfortable environment.

In the early intervention, reasonable avoidance of psychological pressure is the key to maintaining mental health. First of all, for workplaces and leisure residences, use limited space to create temporary movable rest platforms, so that citizens can get relief from busy work and life; secondly, for daily travel, choose suitable ones for them to walk. In the long run, the landscape plays a vital role in the healthy and happy life of urban residents. However, people's mental health is uncontrollable and changes gradually with social development and personal growth.

From the early stage of discovery, once people's daily life undergoes qualitative changes, they may not be able to participate in urban mental health activities, and they may no longer be able to feel the familiar living environment around them, and experience the satisfaction and happiness brought by gardening work. ; In the mid-term hospital treatment, if the patient’s family is unable to give them certain emotional support and encourage them to "go out" to experience the spiritual comfort given by the natural environment, then the effect of the treatment will not be achieved; finally, Continuing care is an important part of maintaining a stable state of mental health. The concern here no longer refers to the help that the city provides to people, but to help people find a spiritual sustenance, a belief in life and a hope for the future. However, an interactive landscaping approach like gardening may not be acceptable to every patient who returns to the community.

Currently, there is insufficient documentation and evidence to support the exploration of an idealized mental health city. Maintaining people's mental health is a continuous project. It is not only about giving them warmth, creating a comfortable environment, and providing social security. Rather, let them find a sense of belonging, find life value, and find a sense of identity from the society, while offsetting the pressure in life, work and study, face difficulties and setbacks with a more positive attitude, and improve psychological construction. However, some gardening activities and social work guidance for reference are only applicable to the development of the community, and do not cover every space in the entire city. Such urban participation activities lack a practical basis, and whether they will interfere with the mental health of those with their own mental health has not been taken into consideration.

From the long-term development consideration, only considering the help of landscape and medical treatment cannot help people get rid of the shackles of mental stress. It also needs to coordinate all aspects of support, the return of history and culture, the social development of the city, and the future economic development trends.

According to the World Health Organization in 2008, chronic diseases have become the world's leading killers, accounting for more than 60 percent of the total number of people dying each year. Among them, this study mainly studies the construction of mental health city and puts forward a "three-step" continuous loop route, hoping to help those citizens affected by mental anxiety and stress to get rid of the "haze" and re-engage in a positive life through early landscape intervention. In the middle stage of treatment, more attention should be paid to their emotional changes, and landscape rehabilitation means should be adopted to encourage them to actively face the condition and recover as soon as possible. Finally, through continuous care, hoping that they can find spiritual sustenance and participate in landscape creation by themselves while providing them with warmth. By improving the aesthetic sense of the city, we can regain our faith and face future life with a more positive attitude.

The "three-step" landscape guideline can be used as a reference for other chronic diseases, and corresponding promotion activities can be carried out for major chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and physical sub-health. It can not only timely and limited avoid all the risks of disease, but also targeted treatment after the disease, and finally, strengthen care, improve the health of the body, and improve the balance of various bodily functions.

The appendix will provide a list of plants that can be referred to for reference in the process of plant selection. It is divided into three main parts.

The first part of the Herbal Park is a selection of herbs, flowers, and trees. Its purpose is to promote the health of the main organs of the body through the medicinal effect of vegetation, and finally achieve the physical and mental health of people; The second part is about plants that can be easily grown and moved around, mainly with different flower pots. Its purpose is to create different forms and themes of plant space under the limited time and space, to create an interesting leisure environment, to help citizens release pressure, relieve fatigue; The third part is to select a variety of plants suitable for beginners to plant, improve the participation of citizens, through their initiative to contact plants, take the initiative to learn plant planting skills, "dress up" the city with their own hands.
