GYNECOLOGICAL SPECIALISTS The pathologists at Pathology Services, Inc. (PSI) are specialists in gynecologic pathology and cytology and are affiliated with Harvard and Tufts Medical Schools, as well as with Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Our gynecologic pathology staff includes experts in: • Squamous and glandular lesions of the cervix, vagina, and vulva • Neoplastic and pre-neoplastic conditions of the endometrium • Trophoblastic diseases (diseases of early pregnancy) • Liquid based Pap tests (ThinPrep® Pap Test™ and SurePath™) • Conventional Pap smears • Fine needle aspirate cytology of the thyroid and other organs • Nipple discharges • Anal smears • Fluid cytology (pleural fluids, urines, etc.)

QUALITY DIAGNOSTIC SCREENING Pap smear screening is the primary activity of the gynecologic division at Pathology Services. We are fortunate in our ability to attract talented cytotechnologists from all over the country. These dedicated individuals work closely with our staff cytopathologists to arrive at the most accurate Pap smear diagnoses possible.

HIGHEST STANDARDS Our goal is the same as yours: high quality women’s healthcare. To this end, quality assurance (QA) is an on-going effort at PSI. As part of this process, we employ a cytotechnologist who is specialized in quality assurance and whose sole responsibility is to oversee accuracy in Pap smear diagnoses. Our QA Specialist also assists the Medical Director and Cytology Supervisor in all aspects of quality assurance.
