Dretzka Park’s Chalet, set in the western part of the park, is a unique facility. The colored glass windows, skylight, freestanding fireplace, and cathedral ceiling with wood beams give it an informal, alpine atmosphere. Surrounded by rolling hills and trees, the chalet is a secluded site for social functions and events.

Brown Deer Park Boathouse sits on a hill overlooking the lagoon in Brown Deer Park. The rustic exterior and wooded setting create the effect of a country house. The rental area has a fireplace and wood beams.

The Garden House was constructed in 1935 using native fieldstone. The Exhibit Room features wooden animal sculptures, wooden furniture, and a beautifully inscribed fireplace mantel. Renters may bring in beverages (alcoholic beverages require a separate permit) and prepared food or snacks.

Nell’s Sun Room at Boerner Botanical Gardens is an intimate gathering space ideal for small weddings, anniversaries and corporate functions. The octagonal-shaped Cafe features five large, garden-facing windows looking upon the Garden Terrace, an additional gathering space for this facility.

The Garden Room at Boerner Botanical Gardens is located off the Atrium and overlooks a portion of the gardens. This space is ideal for meetings, cocktail receptions, intimate sit-down dinners and more. For group sizes of 96 or more, the room can also be combined with Boerner Hall, lending itself well as a space for cocktails and dancing.

The King Center auditorium includes seating for up to 200 people, a large stage, backstage areas and sound system. The venue is ideal for plays, weddings, talent shows, business meetings or other presentations.

The Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory, better known as The Domes, offers a one-of-a-kind destination for your event or wedding. Seated events can accommodate 275 guests; cocktail events, up to 500 guests. A/C and Wi-Fi are available in the lobby area only.

Zilli Hospitality Group is the exclusive caterer at The Domes; this includes both food and beverage.

RENTAL INFORMATION

For a truly unique wedding, ceremonies for up to 30 people can be held in the Tropical, Desert or Show Dome at the Mitchell Park Domes during regular open hours.

A daytime wedding ceremony permit is required for ceremonies, plus admission per person. Permits are for two hours and include photography at your selected site. For private ceremonies, an afterhours rental is required.

For sports, the Fieldhouse can be set up for soccer, volleyball or basketball, and batting cages are also available (Single batting cages are available for rent.) Can be set up for open play, most indoor sports, and one batting cage available. Soccer goals and volleyball nets are available.

WHAT YOU GET

Available exclusively to civic or church youth groups. Built in the 1920s, this one-and-a-half story, wood-frame bungalow is located in a wooded area in Grant Park. Camping is permitted on the Wulff Lodge grounds.

Payment Changes Day of

Payment in full is required to confirm booking. Acceptable payments over phone - Most all major credit cards. Payment by check can be taken at the admin o ice in Wauwatosa, Mon- Fri, 8 am - 4:30 pm. Reser vations can be made over the phone or online.

Cancellation

Most venues need a 90 days notice to change location or date. To add extra hours, we’ll need a two weeks notice. A non-refundable processing fee will be charged for all changes.

All cancellations must be submitted in writing. If received 90 days or more prior to the rental date, you will receive a 75% refund. If received more than 30 days prior to rental date, you will receive a 50% refund. If received less than 30 days prior to the rental date, you will not receive a refund. Refunds are not issued due to unfavorable weather conditions. Rentals are not rescheduled due to unfavorable weather conditions.

Set up & Clean up Food & Beverages

All set up, decorating, catering & clean up must be done withing your rental time. If any damage has occurred this will be invoiced to you a er the event.

Facilities with kitchenettes allow you to bring in your own food or hire a caterer of your choice. It is best to plan on doing the majority of the prep work & cooking before you arrive.

Indemnity

Parks sta arrives 15 minutes before, to open up facility. For rental emergencies on day of rental, please call the number on your Permit. Park sta will respond as soon as possible. (414) 454-4357

Renter(s) agrees to indemnify, defend & hold harmless, the County, its o icers & employees, from & against all loss or expense including costs and reasonable attorney’s fees &/or liability for damages, personal injuries & property damage to the extent caused by any negligent or willful act or omission of renter(s).

Alcohol

Alcoholic drinks, including beer, wine & spirits are permitted at most venues. If you plan on selling alcohol you will need a special event permit. Alcohol can only be served to attendees 21 and over.

Extra Hours Music Decorations

Keep an eye on the clock. Any additional time on the rental day will be charged at double hourly rate for every 1/2 hour.

No inflatable structures indoors. Some locations have outdoor areas. If you set up outside, a certificate of ins. is needed. No staking.

Amplified sound is allowed at most venues, this includes use of microphone, DJ equipment & live bands. NO amplified music is allowed outside.

No petting zoos are allowed inside the buildings. Ever yone loves ponies, but they are a bit messy.

To host a sale, ra le, silent auction or accept donations, you’ll need a special event permit.

Decorate your space. Please only use masking tape, no tacks or nails. Confetti & smoke machines are prohibited. Buildings with ceiling fans do not allow helium balloons.

ALL of our parks buildings are SMOKE FREE.

Some rental spaces include use of an adjacent picnic area. Please do not move any tables outside of the picnic area.

As park pavilions are in public parks, restrooms within the pavilions are open for public use.

Most spaces include tables & chairs, set up by parks sta . If you want custom set-up, let us know one week prior. Do not bring tables & chairs.

Venues are in public spaces & close to public facilities; playgrounds, pools, sports courts & parking. All facilities will be available for public use.

CONSEJOS PARA UN GRAN ALQUILER

Cancelaciones

Cambios

Para cambiar la fecha o ubicación de su alquiler requerimos un aviso de 90 días. Para agregar horas, necesitamos un aviso de dos semanas. Se cobrara una tarifa de procesamiento no reembolsable por todos los cambios.

Cualquier cancelación debe de ser presentada por escrito. Si es recibida más de 90 días antes de la fecha alquilada, recibirá un reembolso del 75%. Si la cancelación es recibida 30 días antes de la fecha alquilada, recibirá un reembolso del 50%. Si la cancelación es recibida 30 días menos de la fecha alquilada, no recibirá ningún reembolso. No se emiten reembolsos debido a condiciones climáticas desfavorables. Su alquiler no se reprogramará por condiciones climáticas desfavorables.

Preparación y limpieza

Cualquier preparación, decoración, servicios de comida y limpieza deben de hacerse dentro del tiempo alquilado. Si ha ocurrido algún daño se le enviara una factura después del evento.

Comida y Bebidas

Las instalaciones con cocina le permiten traer su propia comida o contratar un servicio de comida de su propia elección. Se le aconseja hacer la mayoría de las preparaciones y cocinar antes del evento.

Horas Adicionales Música

Mantenga un ojo en el reloj. Cualquier tiempo adicional el día del evento se le cobrara doble por hora, por cada media hora.

Inflables en interior

No son permitidas las estructuras inflables dentro de los edificios. Algunos lugares tienen áreas afuera donde se permiten las estructuras inflables. Si la instala afuera, necesitaría un certificado de seguro. No replanteo.

Mesas de picnic

Algunos espacios de alquiler incluyen el uso de un área de picnic adyacente al edificio. Por favor no mueva ninguna mesa fuera del área de picnic.

El personal de parques llega 15 minutos antes para abrir el edificio. Para emergencias del alquiler en el día de su evento por favor llame al número en su contrato. El personal del parque responderá lo más pronto posible. (414)454-4357.

Indemnidad

El arrendatario acuerda indemnizar, defender y mantener indemne al condado, a sus funcionarios y empleados, de y contra toda pérdida o gasto incluidos los costos y tarifas razonables de abogados y / o responsabilidad por daños, lesiones personales y daños a la propiedad en la medida causada por cualquier acto negligente o intencional u omisión de inquilino (s).

Las bebidas alcohólicas, incluyendo la cerveza, vino, y licores son permitidas en la mayoría de los edificios. Si planea vender bebidas alcohólicas necesitaría un permiso de la oficina de Eventos Especiales. El Alcohol solamente se puede servir a los invitados mayores de 21 años.

Decoración

Animales de zoológico

No se permiten animales de zoológico acariciables dentro de los edificios. Todos aman a los ponis pero son un poco sucios.

Baños

Como los pabellones del parque están en parques públicos, los baños

prohibido. En los edificios con ventiladores de techo no se permiten globos de helio.

Recaudación de fondos

Para organizar una venta, un sorteo, una subasta silenciosa o aceptar donaciones, necesitará un permiso de Eventos Especiales.

Mesas y sillas

La mayoría de los espacios incluyen mesas y sillas que son establecidas por el personal del parque. Si desea una configuración personalizada, déjenos saber una semana antes. No traiga sus propias mesas y/o sillas

Fumar

No se permite fumar en NINGUN edificio del parque.

Scout Lake Pavilion is set on the southern shore of Scout Lake. From the pavilion there is a picturesque view of the lake and surrounding woods. TIPS FOR A GREAT RENTAL

Picnic shelter rentals can be made by calling our public services line at (414) 257-8005 or in person at the Milwaukee County Parks Administration Building. We accept bookings two years in advance and require at least two weeks notice. Shelters are available for family gatherings, company functions, and private parties. Rentals for which the general public would be invited will require a special event permit. Shelters are available to rent between May 1 and October 15. A picnic permit reserves the site and the picnic tables for use from 10am-10pm. As always all of our park buildings are smoke free.

For picnic permits we need at least a two weeks notice to change a location or date, otherwise it will be treated as a cancellation.

Indemnity Cancellation

Cancellations must be in writing & submitted to the public services o ice. If received 90 days or more prior to rental date, will receive full refund minus processing fee. If 90 to 30 days prior to the schedule date, you will receive 50% refund. If less than 30 days prior to the scheduled date, you will not receive a refund. Refunds are not issued due to unfavorable weather conditions. Rentals are not rescheduled due to unfavorable weather conditions.

Set up & Clean up Tents

All set up, decorating, catering & clean up must be done within your rental time. You are expected to leave are in original condition. If any damage has occurred this will be invoiced to you a er the event.

Inflatables

Inflatable are allowed when the following conditions are met: You must provide a Certificate of Insurance with $1,000,000 (one million) in general liability and Milwaukee County Parks named as an additional insured party. You must bring a generator to operate the inflatable and use sandbags to secure the structure from movement. Staking is not permitted.

Your picnic area and shelter will be reserved for your use. For rental emergencies on day of rental, please call the number on your Permit. Park sta will respond as soon as possible. (414) 454-4357

In most cases, please leave tents at home. They are permitted in some areas. Must be secured with sandbags or weights. Staking is not permitted.

Grilling

Grills aren’t provided. If you bring a grill it must be confined to enclosed metal containers. Hot coals must be cooled or doused with water a er use & must be disposed of in designated coal containers - if you can’t find one you’ll need to take the coals with you. Pig roasts must be done above ground. Deep fr yers at aren’t allowed at our shelters.

Alcohol

Alcoholic drinks, including beer, wine & spirits are permitted at most venues. If you plan on selling alcohol you will need a special event permit. Alcohol can only be served to attendees 21 and over

Music

Amplified sound is not allowed at most shelters, unless otherwise noted. This includes use of microphones, DJ equipment & bands.

Parking Fundraising

Park is assigned parking areas only. Non-Park service vehicles on park paths or parking on grass, unless previous arrangements are made with the park manager.

Food & Drink

You’re welcome to bring any food or drink you like.

Petting Zoo

Ponies and petting zoos are permitted in outdoor areas. See Inflatable Structures information for the insurance requirements.

Restrooms

If the shelter you are renting has restrooms, these will be unlocked for the day of your rental. Restrooms are available for the public to use too.

To host a sale, ra le, silent auction or accept donations, you’ll need a special event permit. Call (414) 257-4503 to apply for permit.

Decorations

Please only use masking tape, no tacks or nails. Confetti & smoke machines are prohibited.

July 4

No reser vations are taken for July 4. On this holiday, picnic sites and shelters are available on a first-come, first-ser ved basis.

Venues are in public spaces & close to public facilities; playgrounds, pools, sports courts & parking. All facilities will be available for public use.

Picnic Shelters

Choose from over 20 picnic shelters in parks across Milwaukee County. Shelters are available from May 15 to October 15. Many of our shelters include electric outlets and restrooms, and are close to other park amenities including playgrounds, sports fields and trails.

Shelters are available for permitting at the posted rates. Rates are based on set area capacity and amenities.

In most cases, please leave tents at home. They are permitted in some areas. Must be secured with sandbags or weights. Staking is not permitted.

Park is assigned parking areas only. Non-Park service vehicles on park paths or parking on grass, unless previous arrangements are made with the park manager.

You’re welcome to bring any food or drink you like.

Ponies and petting zoos are permitted in outdoor areas. See Inflatable Structures information for the insurance requirements.

Restrooms

If the shelter you are renting has restrooms, these will be unlocked for the day of your rental. Restrooms are available for the public to use too.

To host a sale, ra le, silent auction or accept donations, you’ll need a special event permit. Call (414) 257-4503 to apply for permit.

Decorations

Please only use masking tape, no tacks or nails. Confetti & smoke machines are prohibited.

Amplified sound is not allowed at most shelters, unless otherwise noted. This includes use of microphones, DJ equipment & bands.

July 4

No reser vations are taken for July 4. On this holiday, picnic sites and shelters are available on a first-come, first-ser ved basis.

Venues are in public spaces & close to public facilities; playgrounds, pools, sports courts & parking. All facilities will be available for public use.

HOW TO BOOK

To reserve your pool rental, contact our Public Services team at (414) 257-8005. Please note that reservations must be made at least three weeks in advance, and full payment is required to confirm your booking.

You can also book in person Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Milwaukee County Parks Public Services Office, located at 9480 Watertown Plank Road, Wauwatosa. TIPS FOR POOL RENTALS

To book your rental, call Public Ser vies at (414) 257-8005 or visit the Milwaukee County Parks Administration Building. Note: at least three weeks’ notice is required for booking.

Payment

To book, call Public Services at (414) 257-8005. At least 3 week’s notice is required to reserve and full payment is due upon booking. Cash and card are accepted.

Changes

We need at least three weeks notice to change a location or date, otherwise it will be treated as a cancellation.

Full refund for cancellations within 24 hours of booking. Partial refund up to 30 days before the event

Set up & Clean up

All set up and clean up must be done within your scheduled rental time. You are expected to leave the facility in its original condition and any damaged incurred will be billed to you.

Extra Hours

Keep an eye on the clock. Overstays will be charged at double hourly rate for every 1/2 hour past rental end time.

Food & Beverages

Prepared food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted. There is no kitchen or heating /cooling equipment available. No glass allowed.

Music

For safety of swimmers, amplified sound is not allowed at pools, this includes use of microphones, DJ equipment and live bands. Music can be played through the pool PA system at our indoor pools.

Alcohol is prohibited

Swimmers must wear swim attire made of swimsuit material with no zippers or snaps.

Pool Toys

Toy balls and Coast Guard approved flotation devices are allowed; No water wings, inner tubes or ra s of any kind are permitted.

ALL of our parks buildings are SMOKE FREE.

Public Events

Pool rentals are available for private parties only. Advertising to the public will result in cancellation. Ticket events are prohibited.

Grilling is not permitted in the pool area, but may be permitted outside (for example, in an adjacent picnic area).

BROOKS PAVILION

The park and pavilion are a memorial to Greenfield native Alan Kulwicki, the 1992 NASCAR Winston Cup Champion. The spacious rental is enjoyed by small groups for showers, family gatherings, and community events.

COMMUNITY SAILING CENTER

The Milwaukee Community Sailing Center in Veterans Park overlooks McKinley Marina and Lake Michigan. The Windhover Community Room, Sullivan Deck, and the center’s two classrooms, Challenge and Integrity can be rented individually or in total for larger functions. Outdoor space for open-air or tented events may also be available.

Concessions, including beer and wine, are available with minimum purchase.

The Grand Hall is available year-round. This wonderful historic building offers air-conditioning in summer, a ﬁreplace with firewood, accessible facilities and plenty of parking in a park setting. Lake Park Bistro is a classic choice for any event. The restored historic building is over a century old. Nestled in beautiful Lake Park on Milwaukee’s East Side, the bistro is just minutes from downtown.
