We are all heartbroken at the recent death of our much-loved Trustee, Valerie Williamson.

Valerie Williamson

Val was a much-loved Trustee and Volunteer at MK CIL. Val worked at CIL for many years, helping people with disabilities fill in their disability benefit forms, and if their application was unsuccessful, she would help with the appeals and sometimes accompany them through the court process.

Val was a very busy person, she helped to organise DAD, (the Annual Disability Awareness Day) and was involved in DAG, (the Disabled Advisory Group) and the Rotary Club.

She was also a regular church goer and loved seeing shows at the Stables theatre.

Val was a Paralympian; she won a silver and a bronze medal for Archery.

Recently Val was awarded the BEM (British Empire Medal) for her voluntary services.

As well as being an active Trustee and colleague, she was a great friend to us all.

We will miss her so much, sleep tight Val.
