Sustaining What We’ve Built
Mary Greene Executive Director Lander Community Foundation
Your generosity and engagement fueled a year defined not just by success, but by growth, deepened impact, and expanded opportunity for our community. The momentum you helped build in 2025 continues to strengthen the Lander Community Foundation in meaningful and measurable ways.
Because of you, 2025 marked another milestone year. We continued to build on the strength of Challenge for Charities, sustaining its record-setting impact and broadening participation across our community. Our educational offerings evolved and expanded, with free Power Hours and workshops reaching more nonprofit leaders than ever before. We invested directly in the visibility and effectiveness of local organizations by offering professional marketing guidance, video, and photography support, all of which amplify missions and build long-term capacity.
We also continued to walk alongside emerging organizations, guiding fiscally sponsored entities toward independent nonprofit status and mentoring boards of directors to lead with clarity and confidence. At the same time, we strengthened relationships with partners who share our values, widening the circle of people committed to Lander’s vitality.

From helping racers safely cross the finish line on the 4th of July to participating in the Challenge for Charities Matching Fund, to providing unrestricted gifts that allow us to respond where the need is greatest. You helped power this work forward.

ANOTHER RECORD-BREAKING YEAR
Making Magic for 15 Years
In its 15th year, Challenge for Charities (C4C) once again demonstrated the extraordinary generosity of the Lander community. In 2025, donors and Challengers contributed a record-breaking $895,489 to support local nonprofits.
During the giving period (May 1–July 10), 3,557 individual donations—the most ever through C4C—helped 54 participating nonprofits raise $688,243, more than $46,000 above 2024 totals.
An additional $207,246 came from 142 Challengers who contributed to the C4C Matching Fund, helping amplify donations with a 30% match for participating organizations.
Since 2021, C4C has generated over $4.6 million for local nonprofits—more than half of the nearly $8 million raised since the program began.
Every dollar raised through C4C stays in Lander, supporting the programs, services, and projects that strengthen our community. This year, 22 nonprofits reached or exceeded the $10,000 match cap, another record and a testament to the growing fundraising strength of Lander’s nonprofit community.
More organizations, donors, and first-time supporters participate in C4C each year. As nonprofits become more skilled at sharing their stories and engaging supporters, this program continues to grow—demonstrating the powerful impact of collective giving.
Through Challenge for Charities, LCF is proud to cultivate Lander’s culture of generosity, bringing donors and nonprofits together to strengthen the community we all call home.

A UNIFIED VISION
Nonprofits Impacting Lander with LCF’s Help
There are dozens of inspiring stories from local nonprofits that are positively impacting the greater community we could share. Here are just two impacting Lander. We encourage you to look up other nonprofits from our website’s directory.
Community Entry Services (CES) has been supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while strengthening the local economy and community for 50 years.
CES serves over 100 individuals and their families and employs over 110 staff in Riverton and Lander. CES clients and caregivers are out in the community visiting local businesses, attending appointments, or participating in activities that foster independence and belonging.
CES also contributes to Lander’s economy and sustainability. Their community recycling program serves more than 100 local businesses, schools, and nonprofits while providing meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
While CES secures millions of dollars in state and federal funding for Fremont County, government reimbursement covers only 81 cents of every dollar required to provide care. Community support and programs like Challenge for Charities definitely
bridge that gap, ensuring CES can continue delivering recognized, high-quality services.
The opportunities given to Lander citizens would not be possible without the help of the C4C and LCF fundraisers, which provide us with the chance to give back.
The Lander Care and Share Food Bank relies on Challenge for Charities as its largest annual fundraiser. Through this community effort, the food bank provides food for 1,500–2,000 people every month in the Lander area.
By partnering with the Food Bank of Wyoming, donations stretch remarkably far; about $3.33 provides two weeks of meals for one person. While rising food costs have increased that amount from $2.50 in previous years, community generosity through Challenge for Charities ensures the same level of food support will continue in 2026.
At its core, the food bank operates on a simple principle: Anyone who needs food can receive it. There are no burdensome requirements, just healthy food, dignity, and the reassurance that neighbors in Lander care for one another.
LOOKING AHEAD
Investing in Lander’s Future
Over the past several years, LCF has made intentional investments in the systems, relationships, and infrastructure needed to serve Lander for the long term. Today, those investments are fully realized.
Our integrated financial and nonprofit portal systems are now central to how we operate—streamlining processes, strengthening stewardship, and providing secure, lasting infrastructure for nonprofits, donors, and community initiatives. With these tools in place, we have expanded our reach, onboarding new nonprofits and fiscally sponsored entities and increasing access to the resources organizations need to grow and succeed.
At the same time, we continue to elevate how Lander’s stories are told. Through expanded digital assets and ongoing photography and videography support, we are helping nonprofits share their impact, connect with supporters, and build lasting visibility.
This strong foundation allows us to look ahead with clarity and purpose.
Guided by our strategic plan, LCF remains committed to:

• Strengthening financial sustainability
• Expanding visibility and engagement
And now, we are ready to do more.
LCF staff and board are actively exploring opportunities to initiate and invest in forward-thinking community projects—working in partnership with local organizations, leaders, and institutions to address emerging needs and shape Lander’s future. These efforts reflect an evolution of our role: not only as a funder and resource, but as a convener, collaborator, and catalyst for communitydriven impact.
This next chapter will require follow-through, partnership, and continued investment.
