We have also used this period to develop our engagement ring brand. DIAMONDS

Diamonds are forever and come to us from the very distant past. Formed in the depths of the Earth over more than a billion years, the diamond’s raw beauty is showcased through faceting, which brings out the graceful reflections in the stone.

The gemmologists and the gem-setters at Rolex work in harmony to reveal the diamond’s radiance. One selects the stones, the other sets them one by one into the dial, bezel, case or bracelet. These incredibly precise motions, passed from one generation to the next, are perfected over the course of many years.

This year Rolex is also presenting a new gem-set version of its Oyster Perpetual Lady-Datejust. This watch, crafted from 18ct yellow gold, showcases the captivating shine of the diamonds that adorn every surface.

The case of this new Lady-Datejust is set with 158 brilliant-cut diamonds on the case sides and lugs as well as 44 brilliantcut diamonds on the bezel. The President bracelet sparkles with a further 596 brilliant-cut diamonds. The dial, paved with 291 diamonds, features elegant 18ct yellow gold Roman numerals with a black finish.

We have fully equipped watch workshops in Northampton and Banbury where our skilled watchmakers repair, service and maintain your timepieces to the highest standards: our watchmaker Laurence has just qualified as a Rolex accredited watchmaker after years of training, joining our head watchmaker Lynette, who already holds a Rolex plaque scheme accreditation. Our jewellery workshop offers a wide range of services and repairs, as well as a comprehensive in-house bespoke service, utilising CAD and traditional skills to a high level. Whatever your needs, our goldsmiths are ready to help.

We are fortunate to have two Fellows of the Institute of Registered Valuers (IRV) carrying out valuations and watch authentications in-house. Their qualifications and expertise mean valuations are highly accurate, giving you peace of mind.

With over 100 years of experience providing exceptional service to our local customers in our bricks-and-mortar showrooms, it is only right that we bring our online and digital presence up to the same excellent standard.

Over the past year, we have been working hard on creating a brand-new website to complement our physical showrooms to bring the Michael Jones Jeweller experience right into your own home.

With our new website, we hope to marry the convenience of shopping online with the service we love to offer in our stores. We understand that stepping into our showrooms can be daunting, especially for new customers. We hope that our online presence allows our customers, both new and old, the freedom to gather information and browse in their own time before visiting one of our stores or decide to purchase online.

To further bridge that gap between your home and our showrooms we have also spent time improving our social presence and we are very proud of our Instagram and Facebook accounts. We enjoy sharing lifestyle pictures of our favourite products as well as news and events happening in the company. Our social accounts are also a great, informal way to contact us, ask questions, and generally keep in touch. We would love you to follow, like and interact with us on our socials.

THE WORKBRIDGE SHOP & STUDIO

The Workbridge Shop & Studio is a gift shop and charity shop supporting service users at Workbridge with retail work experience AND showcasing the products and creative talents of adults with a range of mental health needs.

“Workbridge officially opened their new shop and studio on Bedford Road, Northampton in June 2021. Michael Jones Jeweller were proud to attend the official opening. For 41 years, Workbridge has been supporting people across Northamptonshire with a learning disability, brain injury, mental illness or autism to gain work skills.

Workbridge was founded by Dorothy Davidson, social worker at St Andrew’s Healthcare and Michael Jones of Michael Jones Jeweller in June 1980. Michael was Chair of Mind Northamptonshire at the time. Workbridge has been part of St Andrew’s Healthcare since 2009.

The Workbridge Shop and Studio was officially opened on Tuesday 29th June. Anne Jones, Michael’s widow, cut the ribbon with service users at Workbridge.

The new Shop & Studio has been created to showcase the wonderful gifts that Workbridge create with their service users. The shop also sells pre-loved items donated by the community and provides a supported retail experience where service users can gain work skills. Gifts include ceramic and wood turned items made by service users in their sessions.

Helen Burdett-Wright, Head of Workbridge led the speeches and tributes at the event opening: “The teams at Workbridge have worked incredibly hard on the refurbishment of Workbridge Shop & Studio. Our Woodwork and Woodturning departments, along with volunteers and service users have designed and created all of the internal timber cladding and furniture. Everything was made in session at Workbridge this year during the lockdown periods. Many colleagues have helped out from across Workbridge - organising the works as well as preparing products ready to go inside from each department. I am incredibly proud of the team, their creative talents and the brilliant teamwork displayed. The Workbridge Shop & Studio would not be here today without the support and vision of a dedicated group of

Workbridge volunteers who started the Workbridge charity shop in 2004, many of whom are with us today. The Charity Shop’s transformation today as Workbridge Shop & Studio is thanks to the support of Michael Jones Jeweller. Michael Jones was one of the inspirational founders of Workbridge, and we are proud to have Anne Jones with us today to celebrate the opening. Michael helped to create Workbridge in June 1980 and was Chair of Workbridge for a number of years. He was ever present at events, fundraising and Workbridge socials and was much loved and respected member of the Workbridge family.

When Michael passed away in 2017, he left a legacy for Workbridge through the Michael Jones Community Fund.

Michael Jones Jeweller have continued to support Workbridge. In 2019, Michael Jones Jeweller celebrated their centenary and Workbridge was chosen as the charity of the evening. I was very honoured to be invited along to speak at this wonderful fundraising evening. I was accompanied by Tom Cooney who is one of our service users and volunteers. Tom spoke passionately about Workbridge and his own circumstances and experiences in coming to Workbridge. It was a very heartfelt speech. The event raised over £24,000 for Workbridge and for that we are eternally grateful. Thanks to the funds raised that evening and the continued support of the Michael Jones Community Fund, we have been able to refurbish the unit (behind me) and officially open it today as the Workbridge Shop and Studio.
