TrueScripts COVID-19 Response Update This week we are sharing answers to frequently asked questions as part of our unwavering commitment to keeping our members, clients, and partners informed.
Q: If new vaccines and medications for COVID-19 become available, how will they be handled? A: The TrueScripts Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee will evaluate all new FDA approved vaccines and medications for formulary coverage. The Committee meets weekly and can convene outside of regularly scheduled meetings if needed to ensure action is taken as quickly as possible.
Q: As “shelter-in-place” orders are issued and extended throughout the country, what options are available to ensure maintenance medications can be obtained? A: TrueScripts has made adjustments to “refill-too-soon” edits so members can obtain early refills of medications. Many pharmacies are offering delivery options that can support sheltering in place. In addition, the Retail-90 program allows a member to obtain a 90-day supply of medication. Members who have questions or need help with refills can speak with a Member Care Representative by calling 844-257-1955.
Q: Are there any concerns about potential U.S. drug shortages? A: We are continuing to monitor information daily regarding potential drug shortages. Many drug manufacturers maintain 3 – 12 months of raw materials on hand, minimizing the risk of potential shortages. If concerns arise, we will work to identify potential alternatives as quickly as possible.
Q: With social distancing restrictions in place, is TrueScripts still available to help members with questions and other needs? A: Yes! TrueScripts is deemed an Essential Business, however, we are in full compliance with Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb’s Executive Order 20-08 and working remotely.
