WELCOME TO THIS YEAR’S FESTIVAL SUNDAY JUNE 25 TH 2017 The Festival kicks off with a Grand Parade, leaving Martin Primary School at 11.30am.

This year’s theme is Kings and Queens so do come dressed for the part.

The parade will arrive in Cherry Tree Wood by 12.00 for the Opening Ceremony.

THE FESTIVAL HAS MANY GREAT ATTRACTIONS TO OFFER INCLUDING: • • • • • • • • • •

Live entertainment on two stages with acts from across the local community; Mega Slides and bouncy castles; Homemade treats in the food tent and a fine collection of ales and wines in the beer tent A selection of different food stalls Over 80 stalls representing a wide range of local businesses and charities Activities from local schools and groups A raffle draw with great prizes donated by local organisations.

EAST FINCHLEY FESTIVAL 2017 ORGANISING COMMITTEE

WHO RUNS THE FESTIVAL? THE FESTIVAL IS RUN by the East Finchley Community Trust. The Trust is run by seven trustees who all live in East Finchley.

It has charitable status and is charged with promoting the interests of East Finchley. The East Finchley Festival committee operates as a sub-committee of the Trust and involves a great many other volunteers. Without their help and those of local businesses and sponsors the festival would not run. We salute them all.

Recently the Trust has also run the Christmas Festival on the High Road and made donations to local charities with the funds PROGRAMME DESIGN BY PETER CURZON

that we generate. We also run the annual seed swap and have helped other projects such as the Library Campaign, East Finchley Abundance, N2 gardeners and through attracting grants from other organisations we have promoted various music projects.

The Finchley Charities Sheltered housing for older residents residing in the London Borough of Barnet

Established in 1488, we are an Almshouse Charity, providing housing for residents aged 55 and over. We have three sites that are all located within the Finchley area consisting of one bedroom and studio flats surrounded by beautiful well maintained gardens. We are currently building 16 new flats at our Wilmot Close site, due for completion in summer 2017. Sheltered Housing Officers are based on each site to support residents and assist in case of an emergency.

The criteria for application are that you have been resident in the London Borough Barnet for at least five years, have a genuine housing need and are able to live independently (if necessary with the support of a care package).
