Massoia
Cryptocarya massoia

( Cryptocarya massoia ) and is cherished for its unique and exotic aroma, often described as creamy, woody, and sweet with subtle hints of coconut. The Massoia tree is an endemic plant in Papua and all Massoia products in the market are wild-harvested from its high-elevation forests. Due to its remote location, it takes multiple days to trek to the tree. The gathered bark is transported to the village, either by foot or helicopter, contributing to the high price of Massoia Bark Oil. Mitra Ayu has successfully grown over 20,000 Massoia trees in our Plantation in Solok, Sumatra, demonstrating the Massoia trees adaptability outside of Papua. Unlike other suppliers, Mitra Ayu uniquely produces Massoia Bark Oil and Massoia Lactone using the green technology of Supercritical CO2 Extraction to maximize yields and to minimize environmental impact.
