Since each drawing was completed with only my hands to spread and smudge graphite powder and a kneaded eraser, I thought that it would be interesting if the subjects were also hands. I found that the gritty and textural quality of the graphite worked very well with the texture of hands.

For the hand to the left, I decided to create an outline around the hand, almost like a halo in order to separate the very similar tones, separating the hand from the background. I also added more graphite powder around the edged in order to achieve a vignette-like effect, further emphasizing the hand.
