New Outboard Power & New Flagships Coming to Our Area Soon!

Tiara Yachts and Pursuit Boats have recently added “Flagships” (largest of the fleet) to their offerings and you will be seeing them soon! Sea Ray already produces the large luxury cabin & bow-rider 400SLX (their flagship), but they are now offering big power: the Mercury 600hp Verado V12s, available now. Walstrom Marine has already placed many Sea Ray 400SLXs on the water in Northern Michigan with 450 horsepower Racing Mercury engines, but soon you will be seeing the latest and greatest from Mercury – the V12 600hps powering the 400SLX!
Tiara Yachts’ 48LS with Mercury 600hp Verado V12s first debuted at Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, FL, and then locally at our own Bay Harbor Boat Show in June of 2021. Walstrom Marine has been very fortunate to earn a generous allocation of Tiara Yachts’ production slots and they will begin delivering into our area beginning Spring of 2022. These larger engines are a game changer, allowing builders to stretch their imaginations – building bigger and better, with more and more size. The Tiara 48LS (Luxury-Sport) is the largest outboardpowered model the company has ever built. Continuing on their tradition of industry leading innovation and design, Tiara has fully integrated the 600 V12s with their electronics package, which is also equipped with industry leading Garmin Navigation. This new 48-foot build is very quick at cruise, near 40mph, depending on your preference and seas. It truly reminds me of a commercial sewing machine. You can faintly hear the smooth and precise hum, but do not see much happening. The engines are extremely quiet, very still, and always give the feeling of having more than enough power when needed – just the way I like it! The new power and new designs are allowing Tiara Yachts to reach new production records and expand their market share. Their outboard offerings are noted throughout the industry and you will be seeing the All-New 48LS very soon. Walstrom Marine is proud to announce we have boats going into Bay Harbor Yacht Club, Harbor Springs Boathouse, Lake Charlevoix and other Northern Michigan ports!
Akin to the Tiara Yachts 48LS being Tiara’s largest outboard boat built to date, Pursuit Boats is also stretching their portfolio to introduce the All-New S428 that is equipped with quad Yamaha 425 XTOs. In previous Docklines articles, I have written about Pursuit’s recent land acquisition and expansion of their manufacturing facility in Ft. Pierce, FL. I am happy to report those actions to expand are paying off! This is Pursuit’s largest boat to date and my guess is we’ll be seeing even larger builds in the future. There is plenty to like about this new design: an industry first electric sliding galley area, drop-down side platform, and a second row of powered convertible seats…in the cockpit! If you collapse the seats, electrically push the galley back, and remove the table, you end up the largest aft cockpit in its class. You have the room to perform morning yoga, haul in that afternoon record-breaking

catch, and still use it as a mini dance floor in the evening! The S428 is a truly elegant day cruising boat that can still get you to and from the fish if you have those desires. And to get you there, Pursuit Boats has selected quad Yamaha 425 engines. These are the largest engines currently offered by Yamaha and they work in perfect unison with the S428. Pursuit Boats have always been Yamaha-powered vessels and pride themselves on building the boat around the power. This S428 is no different. You will be impressed with the 60 mph she can achieve, the amenities, and innovation she offers. Walstrom is proud to say we’ve been allocated and sold a few Pursuit S428s already! They, too, will be showing up at your local ports and racing across our Northern Michigan waters soon!
