Donations result in access to better healthcare for Northern Michigan patients Since the Fully Digital Imaging System for Fluoroscopy and Radiology went live in early December, 2014, 1,529 patients have benefited from the new equipment funded by a Foundation donor. Thanks to the equipment’s versatility and ease of use, we are close to doubling the number of procedures performed annually in Room 4.

“Staff continue to share that the new equipment in Room 4 is not only improving patient care, but also helping them perform exams with less physical strain.”

“The Cheboygan Transport Van has been much appreciated by cancer patients relying on transportation back and forth to treatments. One patient in particular was struggling not only with the financial burden of transportation, but also with the added stress of having his wife drive – something she typically does not do. The relief of having the van is evident on both of their faces. They are so grateful. I often hear them telling other patients about the program.”

“The leg press has now become the most popular piece of resistance equipment that we have. It is one of the first ones we use when progressing people from phase II cardiac rehab into a phase III program. Research has shown that heart failure patients do much better when leg strength is improved so we have added it to our heart failure exercise protocols.”

Your Donations At Work Thanks to you, the McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation disbursed $3,707,267 in Fiscal Year 2015.

Level II Trauma Designation McLaren Northern Michigan is working hard toward achieving Level II Trauma Designation and gifts are already impacting lives. With trauma protocols in place and an engaged staff ready to respond to the next “Code Trauma,� patients are benefiting from a measurable decrease in time from the moment of arrival at the Emergency Department to diagnosis and treatment of trauma injuries.
