Medical
Liaison Program
McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation provides donors with personal access to a Medical Liaison who provides comprehensive coordination of medical care.
Andrea Cherry, LMSW
Andrea has worked as a medical social worker for nearly 20 years and joined the Foundation in 2023. She excels at providing individualized support and has extensive knowledge of navigating our health care system, including experience with older adults, end of life care, and oncology.
Tami Frampus, BSN RN
Tami has worked as a registered nurse for more than 30 years and joined the Foundation in 2017. Tami cares deeply about assisting donors with their medical needs. She has experience in endoscopy, infusion, public school health and home health.
Through their knowledge and expertise, they assist donors by:
• Acting as a liaison during hospital stay.
• Assisting with physician appointments.
• Answering health care questions.
• Reinforcing patient education, as well as providing other resources and support services.
As a thank you to our donors we provide nurse liaison services.
If you spend time away from northern Michigan, Andrea and Tami can also coordinate your care to prepare for your return to the area.

Assistance for Patients
McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation has several patient assistance funds to help meet the needs of patients in our care. Patients from our Eastern Upper Peninsula and Northern Michigan service area can be assisted in a variety of ways that allow them to follow a prescribed path of care.
While funds are not able to cover the cost of office visits, patients may receive help with the following:
• Medications
• Minor medical equipment and supplies
• Gas cards, food and lodging for medical care appointments
• Mammograms, ultrasounds and biopsies
• Orthotics and other diabetic foot supplies
• Diabetes education
• Cardiac/Pulmonary rehabilitation
