Great Lakes Center for the Arts Summer/Fall Program

Page 1

We are overjoyed to welcome you to our 2025 Season for Icons & Innovators. This Summer and Fall, we invite you to experience the brilliance of those who have shaped the world of entertainment and the bold visionaries redefining it today. Every performance has been chosen with you in mind, crafted to ignite your passions, spark joy, and create unforgettable memories. This season's incredible lineup of music, dance, theater, and more will not only entertain but also inspire, uplift, and foster a deeper connection to the vibrant community we share.

Prepare to be captivated by the retro harmonies of The Doo Wop Project , relive the hits of the 90’s with Straight No Chaser, and be awed by the breathtaking artistry of the Grand Rapids Ballet . Don’t miss the eagerly awaited return of Americana icon Lyle Lovett and a brand-new spectacle from Cirque Mechanics. From the classic country charm of Deana Carter to the spellbinding vocal artistry of Cantus , there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We’re equally proud to showcase cherished regional arts partners, including the Bay View Music Festival (Happy 150 years!) and Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra.

Oh, what a night! This year’s summer musical, Jersey Boys , brings the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons to life with iconic hits like Sherry, Walk Like a Man, and Can’t Take My Eyes Off You in a brand-new production made just for you, performed by some of the nation’s top professional talent.

Thank you for your continued support of live entertainment in Northern Michigan. Your presence and enthusiasm fuel everything we do and help the Center remain a vibrant home for inspiring performances and shared experiences. The support of our partners, donors, and volunteers ensures the resources required to offer these experiences at a range of ticket prices. Find out how you can get further involved on pages 20 and 21.

We look forward to seeing you at the Center all season long... Enjoy the Show!

PLANNING YOUR VISIT TO THE CENTER

The most updated information regarding questions you may have when planning your visit to the Center, including Box Office & Lobby hours, intermission and concession information, ticket related concerns and more, may be found at greatlakescfa.org/planning-your-visit.

DRESS CODE

As for attire, wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable! The type of performance can sometimes be the best indicator of what is most often worn by others. We ask that patrons refrain from wearing hats or other attire that could block lines of vision for others. Regardless of your choice, we want you to feel comfortable enough to truly enjoy your experience.

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

For your safety, please notice the exit closest to you in case of an emergency. If you feel any situation is unsafe, please reach out to any available staff member.

BAG POLICY

When attending an event at the Center, consider traveling with only necessities for your visit. All bags and persons entering the venue are subject to search. The Center reserves the right to refuse entrance to any item deemed a potential safety or security risk or with the potential to be a distraction to the event.

The Center does not allow smoking or vaping onsite.

LOST & FOUND

If you have lost an item, please call 231.439.2600 and ask to speak to the Director of Venue Operations.

Concessions will be available an hour before each evening event and during intermission unless otherwise stated in your pre-arrival e-mail.

You can now enjoy your favorite beverage from the comfort of your seat with our brand-new lidded theater cups-now available for just $3 (cost of drink not included). Bring your cup back to future shows and skip the $3 fee! Grab yours at concessions, sit back, and sip in style while enjoying the show.

ACCESSIBILITY

The Center is ADA accessible and is happy to help with special needs you may have during your visit. Please e-mail the Center at info@greatlakescfa.org or call the Box Office at 231.439.2610 to make special requests before the event you are attending. Hearing assistance headsets and ear protection are available to be checked out at the Box Office before an event.

RUNNING LATE?

If you arrive after an event has already started, you will be seated at the appropriate time as instructed by the staff.

CAMERAS & RECORDINGS

Audience photography, recording, or any other form of reproduction of performances may be prohibited based on the event. Recording for the purpose of distribution is always prohibited. Please pay attention to the pre-event information for event-specific guidelines.

AGE RESTRICTIONS

Please use discretion and careful thought when bringing a younger audience member to an event. All of our patrons’ comfort is important, including yours and your young person’s. Everyone, regardless of age, must have a ticket to attend an event unless otherwise noted.

We are a seasonal non-denominational Christian church and we meet at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts at 10:30am every Sunday morning from May 25 to August 31.

Our purpose is to gather the local community to praise and worship God, pray for one another, grow in our knowledge of the Bible, and be encouraged in our walk with Christ.
