Hellos, Goodbyes & Congrats (#22
Rob Morgan, Gill-Roy's (New Owner) Dan, Kaye & Dale Miller Missing: Faye Miller (Thank you to the Charlevoix County News for the photo & history.)
East Jordan True Value sold to Gill-Roy's
Five years after opening the Charlevoix Ben Franklin store, Donald and Jeanette Miller opened the East Jordan True Value in July 1983. The family and business became a vital part of the community and many of their customers became long-time friends. Donald and Jeanette left the retail legacy to their sons Dan and Dale who worked side by side with their parents and then their wives (Faye and Kaye) and their children. In 2022, the Miller brothers looked retirement in the face and decided to welcome it. They sold East Jordan True Value to Gill-Roy’s Got-it Hardware. We sadly say, "Goodbye and Happy Retirement!" to the Millers; and we excitedly say, "Welcome to East Jordan, Gill-Roy's!"

Busy Bridge Antiques & Gifts
After 38 years, we are sad to say goodbye to Sharon Jackson, Linda Snyder, and our beloved Busy Bridge - "an eclectic blend of gifts & antiques, resort wear, gourmet chocolates & bulk candy, made-inMichigan gifts, jewelry, card, East Jordan shirts, baby gift, toys and free gift wrapping." We'll miss you! But Happy Retirement!

The Chamber's 60th!

The East Jordan Area Chamber of Commerce was incorporated in 1960, but since 2020 was the "Covid Year," we are having a belated celebration! Unfortunately, we could find very little information about the history of the Chamber beyond the fact that several of the long-serving officers prior to Mary Faculak were Judy Shea, the late Ginny Carey, and Marie Yettaw. We did find this one great old photo from an article, but don't even know what year it was! So, here's something TO DO! If anyone out there reading this has any "historic" info or photos about the Chamber, please share what you have with us!
