Confidence in Me: Building Confidence Through the Arts

“You are enough, you are so enough, it is unbelievable how enough you are!” This quote by Sierra Boggess is something that a lot of people struggle with, but I have found that we can combat this struggle through the arts. Through my initiative I have taken this message of “enough-ness” everywhere, as I have made genuine efforts to build the confidence of others, and make a difference in their lives through the arts.

WHAT DOES SCHOLARSHIP MEAN TO YOU?

Opportunity - Soon to be the first woman to graduate from college in my family line, I value my education very highly. My secondary education is the key to independence and financial security as well as giving me the training, connection and opportunities I need in order to pursue my future career. Thanks to the Miss America Organization, I hope to be able to graduate debt free.

WHAT DOES STYLE MEAN TO YOU?

Personality - I take pride in my everyday style choices. I have a bright, bold personality and I usually showcase that through my clothes. You can learn a lot about a person through the way they present themselves to the world, which is why from my glittery heels to my favorite pink jumpsuit, I always strive to look my best.

Power of Play: Advocating for Children Throughout Hospitalization

An initiative to involve the community of Utah to provide much needed play items to hospitalized children to increase coping through education, service opportunities, and toy drives through an official licensed charity I founded in the state of Utah. Within the first year of operation, I was able to provide over 1,000 play and comfort items worth over $3,000. As a Certified Child Life Specialist I share how these items impact patients and families.

WHAT DOES SISTERHOOD MEAN TO YOU?

Being surrounded by women in the MAO who are service oriented and high achieving women who want to make a positive impact on their communities is a privilege. Each woman who joins the ranks in this organization inspires me to do better. I aspire higher because of the motivation and support this Sisterhood brings to me. I am proud to be a part of this legacy and tradition within this sisterhood.

WHAT DOES SUCCESS MEAN TO YOU?

There is no growth in the comfort zone, and I am consistently pushing myself further out of bounds of my comfort to reach success. Success is the driving force behind my goals and accomplishing a purpose. I am devoted and determined to achieve anything I put my mind to. Most recently I received a promotion becoming a Certified Child Life Specialist level II and just ran a triathlon, both requiring a lot of discipline and goal setting.
